Babar Azam amongst the Pakistan lot is the best batsmen in past 10 years. Even if he is related to the Akmals, he is far superior to them and other players like Ahmed Shehzad who were regular features in the Pakistan squad before his arrival. So he has a case for merit-based selection even despite the connection, he's just been in bad form when it comes to ICC tournaments for past 2 years. Shaheen is also a merit-based selection, he genuinely has the talent and skills to back up his selection, and despite some bad form, is a world class bowler on his own merit, even if he's related to Shahid Afridi. The only true nepotistic selections I would agree with are Shadab Khan and Azam Khan, who both need to be out of the team.

I visited Pak this year after a long time. Cricket is over in Pakistan, we don’t really have anyone counting thru either. Everyone is having fun now, but we literally will not stay in cricket as a full member team for too long. You will miss us, we will miss us.

Some of your national team players are having the job security even a govt employee will envy, honestly. It's clear as daylight that these people are not giving their best on the field because they know somehow they'll save their jobs by network. Compare this with the Afghan team or even the USA, irrespective of results their boys giving a tough fight. Pakistan is celebrating mediocrity, comparing Babar with Kohli (Or even sachin lol) or Naseem with Bumrah. Some players like Rizwan are more interested in religious propaganda which is nonsense. Just freaking do the job you're getting paid for in stead of trying to convert people or crying for Gaza.

that's because 1. the topic of discussion was pakistan not india 2. Pakistan often underperform or depends on other results to qualify 3. PCB chairman changes every season and there is too much politics in their cricket 4. Favouritism is totally blatant in Pakistan cricket whereas in Indian Cricket, they are backing their players sometimes decision can be wrong but that doesn't mean it's favouritism and there is consistency in selection 5. If you are doing indian vs pakistan then result speaks for themselves

Agree with #2 but, our team has also underperformed and not won an ICC trophy for a long time. Regarding #3 and #4, the politics here is also not less.
