Bother Vaughan is a fair, neutral and serious commentator. He is almost right in this case too. Can you answer how some teams had hotels far away, with hours of travel time and couldn't even get practice session. But India had all venues at one location and hotel nearby? Isn't this a valid criticism? Disagree with him on semi final issue - because that was decided by economics and not by bcci or ICC.

My point is that sports are deeply intertwined with politics and economics. Take the Roman Republic's decline, for example. Gladiatorial games played a major role in keeping the populace content. Economically, strong sporting victories can distract from weaker economic performance and boost spending, which helps keep the economic cycle going. India craved this win for that very reason. Sure, Klaasen's wicket loss were crucial moments (and very fishy, look at rate changes or spread of the day you will understand), but let's look at the bigger picture. A win in the 2023 World Cup could have significantly boosted Modi's political standing. Some might say he was counting on reaching 400 (political capital?) However, it's important to remember that not everyone in India blindly supports him, but this win place an important role in building the narrative. Jay Shah what a wonderful story directed by you, a guy only a mother can love.

Average delusional Pakistani with his "saazish ho rahi hai" attitude. Except this time he has decent English speaking skills. There was barely politics attached to this world cup. It was important because it was the last dance for Rohit, Virat and Dravid as a coach. The 2023 world cup yes, because it happened in India had that "national pride" thing attached to it. But this one, nope, it was just about the players. And don't you dare delude yourself into thinking you understand India's politics. This win didn't build any narrative for the govt. Everyone is just talking about how they adore this team and its players. How Kohli, Sharma and Jadeja have bid farewell to t20 cricket. In fact, before the match ended, when it seemed like India was about to lose, we had some tweets from our twitter activists how "India would never win any tournament final without a Muslim player playing the match". They deleted those tweets after India lifted the trophy and Siraj thanked Allah for this day (was beautiful to see him in tears and being so happy for his teammates). This is why I hate Pakistani intellectuals like you who think you understand India and Indian people. And no, the fact that you think BJP actually believed they would win 400 tells me you're one of those armchair intellectuals. It was basically a bluff from the lotus party hoping to maximise their seats, which backfired on them. They were NEVER going to reach that summit. "Jay shah what a story directed by you" the fact that the scriptwriter joke from India has been taken so seriously by you lot is so funny. Yeah sure, the Indian players didn't play any part in the victory, defeating Australia, England, South Africa back to back. It was all "jay shah ki likhi hui kahaani". You guys seriously need to understand that India isn't Right wing conservatives vs Liberals. It's a lot more complicated than that. The so-called secular parties advocate for religious civil laws in this country. And don't you worry, Indians aren't as delusional as Pakistani awam who can be made to ignore real issues of the country though sports-washing.
