@@thabisankomo7597 hey man KZN most likely locals for the looting stuff. In Western Cape most of the gangs are in the Cape Flats and Mitchell's Plain some in Athlone as well those are the local gangs very Dangerous. The Taxi's are mixed between Foreigners and Local so we can't really say who is doing what there cause there is to many to count. Most Foreigners that come to South Africa are looking for Jobs. Most are not in Gangs but few are Selling Something Illegal in South Africa. But we talking about a small Majority.

Crime has a nationality when people decide to come illegally into our country. We got criminals in SA that can be traced. Just imagine the ones who cannot be traced. Zimbabweans are breaking news everyday on our news engaging in all criminalities. We don’t go to other countries to do criminal things and won’t allow foreigners to do that in our country.

I'm concerned about crime committed by foreigners because it's avoidable. Criminals from other countries are adding to the crime rate while police are trying hard to decrease it. Forget not that money is needed to arrest criminals, and it is not easy if the country's economy is in the ICU like that of SA. We can't compare the number of foreigners in prison to the number of South Africans in prison. The population of SA is about 62 million. Therefore, it's only about 0.06% of the SAns who are in prison. But we can't say the same about the foreigners because we don't know their actual number in SA. We only know of those who are documented.

Hi Agree with you but. Here are the Major problems Drug trade in South Africa has for last 40 years has Been coming From Nigeria and Somalia groups. They live in South Africa and sell drugs right through. These are the ones that cross our borders illegally. If you Zimbabwean most of them are working and I haven't really heard any Zimbabweans committing crimes besides stealing but not many. We talking about less then 3 percent of Zimbabweans are stealing. People from Cameroon or Malawi same thing very little crimes. If alot of Zimbabweans are in South Africa Legally they have nothing to worry about 👍

Crime has no nationality, criminals do. When you get stats like the one single operation arrest we had last week, you feel like calling every president to come collect their criminals. Stats: 2802 persons arrested for illegal coal mining 63- South African 2739- Non-South Africans. (Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria, DRC, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya) May we never shield criminals. If we import more criminals than well-meaning people from a country, their country should come assist us.

@Tariromtin Oops, last *year not last week, as my comment says. It's a November report from The Security Cluster, delivered by Min Thandi Modise. I stopped blaming poverty & defending countries and their criminals when our railway tracks and power cables were found in a lot of SADC criminals' hands, now I just read the stats. Zamazamas have made life for people of the West Rand hell and I shall not blame anyone from there who comes out hating Basotho & Zimbabwean men. Walk in Potch into those Ethiopian shops, compare their stock to that of recognised supermarket/bottlestore then again ask us to remove nationality from the criminals. South Africans are not saints but, it would assist us a lot if foreign nationals didn't worsen the crime stats in the country esp. the destruction of our state & economic infrastructure.

My other observation is that criminals are very united. They don't care where you come from as long each and everyone executes well in their given role..Yet sometimes as citizens we are fixated on who committed the crime.Would it make you feel better that your mother has been killed by a South African instead of a Zimbabwean.. Bottom line crime is crime no matter who committed. Its bad to all of us

Unfortunately, certain crimes have been statistically associated with specific regions or groups. For example, there have been reports linking human trafficking and drug trafficking to individuals from Nigeria, and drug mules to South African women. Grand theft auto incidents have seen involvement from people from Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The sale of counterfeit goods has often been associated with individuals from some Asian countries, including China and Pakistan. In South Africa, we are facing new challenges such as an increase in kidnappings. While these associations exist in crime statistics, it is crucial to approach the issue with a focus on addressing the root causes and ensuring that we do not unfairly generalize or stigmatize any group of people. Crime is a complex issue that requires a comprehensive and fair response.

@@Tariromtin Follow the money. Some criminal activities involve international networks, such as 419 scams, which are often associated with Nigerian perpetrators. Similarly, drug trafficking and human trafficking are complex and transnational issues, involving various groups, including Eastern Europeans. What surprises many is that Nigerians are often not in charge of major drug and human trafficking operations. There are also concerns about spaza shops being linked to larger criminal or terrorist organizations. In South Africa, people (some hired as hitmen) often find themselves caught between difficult choices, influenced by these criminal activities. Those who are incarcerated are mere foot soldiers. I fully support the PA even though crime might not disappear, at least it will reduce. Historically, South African criminals were perceived to have a code of conduct, similar to organizations like the Yakuza in Japan or Sicilian mafias. They avoided committing crimes in certain neighborhoods or against specific groups, such as children or the elderly. However, my advice is to focus on the positive aspects and the issues people want to hear about, rather than dwelling on crime. Focus on trade industries like how one can open a business in Zimbabwe and the opportunities available for South Africans in Zimbabwe.
