The Atlanta Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit is comprised of 29 civilian employees and handles the collection and processing of evidence from crime scenes. This unit is integral to solving crimes and helping APD bring those who commit crimes to justice. Crime Scene technicians work around the clock and are dispatched to crime scenes when their assistance is needed by officers. LaShantise Porter (Crime Scene Unit & Photo Lab Manager), Alfred Turner (Morning Watch Supervisor), and Brandi Parker (Crime Scene Technician) talk about their experience working in the Crime Scene Unit and how they deal with the emotional toll that can come with the job.
