Shouldn’t Lee Kah Yeow be given a higher sentence since he’s the mastermind? Also it’s not really an armed robbery as the 2 were just pretending so as to steal the coffee shop’s $, so why was Tan Lye Ming charged as severely as a real armed robbery? He has drug offenses too but that still doesn’t justify the much stiffer sentence compared to Lee. Lee abused his authority and roped Tan in to steal from the coffer which should warrant a more severe punishment.

Although he is the Mastermind, he did not commit the crime and is only liable for planning it. The person could have refused to do it. He knew it was wrong and committed the crime, also along with his drug charge & previous conviction, he got a higehr sentence

@9:15, the mastermind said to his auditor : " ...stupid, I said face mask, not useless sunglasses". @13:27, Police Officer Sara when telling his boss saying that the master mind said something strange to the auditor, and when asked by his boss what was that, he said : "..the master mind told the auditor how the robber was stupid enough not to wear a face mask....".There is a great difference in the meaning what the master mind actually said and what officer Sara said to his boss.

He reported 27K missing so that the auditor can write off as losses. Out of the 27k, 6k goes to Ah Beng and recently (at the time), Lee just payed 20k off his bank loan. The balance? Idk maybe for his own use? That is Criminal Breach of Trust (Sec 405 Cap 224) because he converts it for his own use. A bit similar to Theft as Servant but any involvement of cash is usually CBT

It’s just an estimate, a ballpark figure so the officers can roughly establish where the $ has gone. Don’t need to take the figure so literally. . Lee could have spent some of the money.

Just 25 weeks for $20k? Most inmates only serve 2/3 of their sentence, meaning he could be a free man in 17 weeks or 4.25 months. Given that he used to make $2k per month, that's just $8.5k in 4.25 months. Great deal for him, he lost his freedom but effectively earned $20k in 4.25 months and he doesnt even have to work!
