Is a sign a solution? Do they really think people are accidentally running off the trail and just dying in the water? "Lake beyond this point." -- isn't that already obvious without a sign? If they don't see the lake, will they notice a sign? Do you have signs all along the lake every 10 feet? How does this sign seriously count as any kind of a solution?

I agree it's not fair to make it that some ppl can bail out and some can't, but how is money made off bail? Bc ppl don't attend their hearings and then have warrants out for them, and the person paid bail? Confused.

I heard 4 others were found there in the preceding 10 months. 8 people don't accidentally drown in the same lake in a year......i doubt that many are dumped in Lake Mead in a year.

I don't know if you're confusing stories,but the same thing has been happening around Lake Michigan. All men out drinking,or walking home late at night 🌙 along the shore,and either falling in,or being pushed in. Might be a national trend like mass shooting with people that just can't resist the urge to kill.

A talked to a neighbor (a Detective in Austin) who said there is a serial killer working in Austin. It's just that Police don't want people to being panicked, because people are being hunted.

Growing up we were told never to go to the lake at night, when the city of Austin got defunded they took away the cops that patrol the lake with bikes. Even then why walk to a lake with very little lighting and not feel the water at your feet .

I was a backend software engineer for Citibank's Mobile Check Deposit feature for iOS and Android for 2.5 years. What I'm about to say def doesn't violate NDA because most of it is public, but hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. There are different levels to how much and how frequently you can deposit checks via the app. What goes into determining that is how much money on average you have in your account, the age of your account, your credit score with the bank (not to be confused with your FICO credit score), your banking package, and your location. I could totally see them not being able to deposit it via app if they have no other transactions like that. There are options for them, but if this story is on the news sounds like those options have been exhausted.

Fun Fact: Four Seasons Hotel on Lady Bird Lake is the only hotel Queen Elizabeth II ever stayed at in Texas. This goes to show the level of clientele that stays there. I know when we stayed there and rented boats on the lake, there were party boats & rental houses, filled with people, and the lake is so dark at night, no one would likely see anything.
