@@icarusofthesun9306 how is that an actual burn? Taste in entertainment is ultimately subjective. People like friends so fucking what is not like i go around being a bitch about how unrealistic and devoid of meaning it is hecway hacks like cd on his exacerbated scotrish accent does ever fucking week. If all consider cd as some sort erudite critic who has the pulse on what makes for a good story maybe you are the ones projecting who in the echochamber. I don't consider him erudite in the slightest, prosaic at best. Whilst taste is ultimately subjective, not all tastes are equal. I'm sorry, but if you consider she hulk and banshee or rome on the same level your taste is simply bad. Now there are plenty of good shows that I dont personally like, but I recognise their quality, its just not "my thing". This is because, due to no fault of my own, I feel it should be said, I have a very varied taste and experience to which I can compare and relate. A baby loves baby shows, does that mean that baby shows are objectively great just because babies love them, or is it actually that babies do not posses the propper experience to compare the quality of the shows to other shows of a much higher effort put into them. Baby shows are simple because that is exactly what babies need. Start of simple then work your way up towards legend of aang. Then you can take an objective look, due to an abundance of experience and compare much more objectively. Therefore, people who consider she-hulk a good show are people who did not have enough experience in watching higher quality shows for their opinnions to be considered valid. Now this can also apply to a particular subset of pop culture. To give an example, telenovellas are universaly acepted as prime tier garbage tv. This does not mean that they are equally garbage, and someone who has watched a lot of them will easily be able to tell you which ones are good and why. Now if you ask multiple people, they may give you some varied answers, but if they are trully knowledgable you will see significant overlap in their answers. These overlaps are probably the best of them all. So taste is individual but still based on collectivelly accepted parameters. People who avoid talking about taste are people who can't handle their taste being shown as objectively inferior. That's at least how I view it. And yes I am this wordy most of the time. It's a problem.
@hellsonly8908
@hellsonly8908 Жыл бұрын
@@icarusofthesun9306 Yes all taste is equal because it fucking taste. And She-Hulk is actually being faithful to a version of the source material. The John Byrne stuff as well as Dan Slott who was very much following up what Byrne did. Now if you don't like it fine. Not every show has to consumed and viewed by the same audience. Just like with the comics themselves. And as to your line about how "So taste is individual but still based on collectivelly accepted parameters." No that is not taste that is called following a herd if not the herd.
@hellsonly8908

@@icarusofthesun9306 Oh please tell me how you judge people who like she-hulk as having sense of high quality. That is an arrogant claim. That is the same kind of garbage that asshole critic John Simon would use when bitching about Star Wars. Or Roger Ebert whining about horror movies. I'm all for the democratic approach on many things but personal taste will always be and should be up to the individual and if one of your arguments is how and it seems to be this ways based on what the great number of people say then you would be no different from those who would say Kramer vs Kramer was better than Apocalypse Now or Patton was better than MASH.

The problem with people like Turf Nation (Well, one of them anyways) is that they think just because a show or movie has a good idea or theme, it automatically executes it well. So when people like Drinker critique the poor way the themes in something like Falcon And The Winter are executed, people like Turf Nation think that the people like Drinker are saying the themes themselves are bad, because the idea of a good theme executed in a poor way is a foreign concept to them.

Try watching both of their videos and activly listen to what they are saying and if they are backing it ip with actual facts than strawmanning. Listen and pay veeery close attention because how they write their scripts and even their use of footage to help support their points. Drinker may not do that as much as it often loops so it is more focused on his ramble and/or critiques. Yes Drinker Rambles at times it is part of the persona he got BUT it isnt just that. If you want my honest opinion stick with Drinker because at least his scripts are solid. By the by i refer to script by their well video script. People like Drinker and maybe Turf Nation write a script for a video but I dont need to tell ya that. If you are still unsure try picking the topics they (both sides) cover and look into it yourself Example captain marvel look at the movies and see who has a view thats actually more close to how the movie actually is. Yes, yes! I appreciate the effort you put into this. I am a real nit picker when it comes to details and you picked up on 99% of the issues I had with turfnation's video. I like to get many angles on a particular issue before I draw my own conclusions and your video was a well thought out point of view. Many people confound their arguments be failing to correctly pick up on the issue of debate i.e. TCD's views AFAIK are about politics, agenda and social views being wrongfully shoe-horned into stories in such a way that A) it makes the story much worse and B) leads to horrible contrivance issues. It's got nothing to do with being anti gender or anti race. Even in TCD's review of the expanse, he literally says "This story shows exactly how gender and diversity can be done right, feeling neither pushed on you or with a social message to send", a sentiment I share - the characters are the way they are, the race they are and the gender they are TO SERVE THE STORY. I've often wanted to voice this, so I will here: I don't want to see a race or gender swapped 12 years a slave or the color purple - the stories are perfect just the way they are. Films are a type of story telling and for me the best stories pay attention to details, make the characters serve the story by being believable and above all else, avoid contrivance like the plague. Over and out!

Hi Icarus. Do you plan on making more videos regarding controversies in movie Fandoms? It would be great to maybe address the recent controversy surrounding the Obi Wan Kenobi series.
@icarusofthesun9306
@icarusofthesun9306 2 жыл бұрын
I'll have to watch the series first, but i am mostly aware of what is going on. Darth Vader is being wasted, there are certain scenes and sequences that are literally Benny Hill-esque, the main villain is gonna be the protagonist by the end, etc etc. I try to keep a pulse on star wars since its so easy to create a great show in that universe if only they would try and step away from the jedi, but they arent creative enough to do it. Did you know there is a zombie virus in the mythos? Imagine a zombie movie last stand in a dark tunnel where the only light is blaster rounds being shoot at the zombies. Sounds great to me, and i dont even like zombie movies. But they wont ever do it. Cause they are cowards. Simple safe and numerous is the name of the game.

@@icarusofthesun9306 I actually have heard about the Zombie story in Star Wars. I think it would make a great video game. Something similar to Dead Space, essentially. The female inquisitor is apparently going to get her own show. I have some criticisms of the sequel trilogy, although I'm by no means a person who can do deep analytical movie analysis/criticism. The vibe I got of Rey was that she gave off a feeling of her being better than others. The lightsaber duels were also dull and boring. Plus the cross guard lightsaber looks stupid IMO.
@icarusofthesun9306
@icarusofthesun9306 2 жыл бұрын
How the cross guard lightsaber looks is up to the viewer, i understand that, but it is extremely easy to make the argument that it is at least functional. So they have that going for themselves. The duels were amateurish compared to the work and effort Hayden and Ewan put into them and I am one if those people who loves the prequel lightsaber duels specifically because they are so dance-like. We arent watching two medieval knights battling it out in the mud, we are watching jedi, of course its gonna be outlandish. Ray deserves at least three videos on her own, so there is not enough time in the world for me to write it all down here.

@@icarusofthesun9306 What are your thoughts regarding Moses Ingram? She plays the female inquisitor in Kenobi. From what I've seen, she has received some racist messages on social media. Some KZfaqrs have used that story to criticize other KZfaqrs.
@icarusofthesun9306
@icarusofthesun9306 2 жыл бұрын
My opinions on her are the same as any other actor or actress that i have not yet seen act, which is to say none whatsoever. I haven't watched the show yet in all honesty, so I cant comment on her skill as an actress. As far as the racism is considered the problem is twofold. In a group of 10 random people you are gonna find one idiot, at least. So I am far from shocked that there are people who genuinely dont like her simply for being black and a woman, but we call those people insane so I dont put a lot of stock in what they say. That's the first problem. The solution is simple: Twitter doesn't really exist, if there are racists on twitter just ignore them and they loose all power. Social media in general, just leave all of them and you'll be fine. The second problem is gaslighting genuine criticism as being sexist or racist simply for not agreeing a performance is god tier if for no other reason than at least because the actress, in this particular case, is black and female. Ironic, considering that that statement is both inherently sexist and racist simultaneously. And Disney LOVES this trick, they use it all the time and the shills EAT THAT SHIT UP. So yeah, that's it off the top of my head.

Watched the TurfNation's video just before the algorithm brought me here. I left a comment there, that I wish to share here as well. So here goes: "TurfNation, I hope this reaches you even after all this time. I'm a bit late on the curve. Firstly, thank you for the video. You really gave me a new way how to analyze rhetoric. I've been watching Drinker's content for maybe a year now. I have to say that you are right in calling him a reactionary, but I think not in calling him toxic. Drinker only reacts while not providing anything novel. That does not make him good or bad - he is comparable to a middle industrial process that does not extract anything new nor provides anything conclusive in the end. Drinker is a malt processing unit with a funny sign on their window and meme culture in-house. Nothing conclusive. Now, to assess whether the distillation he produces is toxic. To be toxic is to negatively impact something in a way that is not beneficial in any way, or is disproportionately harmful. Drinker is rather upset that he feels the quality of movies is in decline due to Hollywood's heavier emphasis on political messages. I cannot say if Hollywood has a collective or singular social or political message, or if individuals in critical positions have such as individuals and they project themselves in their work. Drinker focuses on venting, not on movie analysis, for that is his message. He is irritated about the way he feels agendas are pushed - similarly as you said you agree with him in movie standpoints (at times) but hate the way he presents his message. He tries to say, behind all his rage (which is humanely arising from frustration that is rooted in societal helplessness), that he feels movies should not be as political. That is his opinion, but it does not make him toxic. He is disinterested in social topics, does not see trees from a forest, acts immaturely and is provocative on purpose, but these things do not make him harmful. He is a nuisance for people who care about social topics, but he does not accumulate any damage. Swaying on people's opinions is not damage. If it was, politics would be a war - an endless cycle of social retaliation. Drinker is a drunk man shouting on the stairs of the parliament, an ouzo-intoxicated bored man raving on the side of agora. Nothing more. He is a nuisance, not a threat. If he is a threat, how weak is the cause he manages to threat with his drunken ramble? The position of something in significance hierarchy can be determined by the status of highest thing or actor that reacts to it, and by the lowest that the something in question reacts to. His choosing not to stand for something and complaining that others do does not in itself make him toxic. It makes him a nuisance. Do not react to nuisances. Next, on to the points that do make him an asshole. He throws the first stone when being derogatory towards people, so you have every right to call a spade a spade and call him an asshole he is. But does it help that you insult him? So, I would conclude him to be a raving and nihilistic asshole. He has every right to be one. He even has the right to be a nuisance. So just let him be. Finally, thank you for providing this medium by which to dissect the difference between toxicity and unpleasantness. Also, I liked very much how calm and analytical you stayed almost throughout the video. One tip though: please do not correct things on screen that contradict the audio. Many people do it, but is not the best way. People ingest more what they hear than what they have to read at the same time, for the first is passive Category One information in-take, while the latter is active Category Two, making the audio override the visual text. Thank you, and happy holidays! :)"

I give plenty of examples throughout the video of how and why TurfNation is incorrect, all of these examples are pulled straight from CritikalDrinker's videos. I do not provide examples of how he is wrong because, for the most part, I do not think he is wrong as much as I believe that agenda driven people find faults with his phrasing and wording, or the pattern of criticism he exhibits again and again without realising that these are the standards by which he criticises movies. Now the conversation of these standards is a completeley separate discussion to have, and I welcome having it, but to claim that the CritikalDrinker is sexist is ludicrous, which has been demonstrated in this video.

So Marvel Thor being silly at times and his antics wouldn't be blasphemy, but a FEMALE Thor would be? Also. Spiderman (Peter Parker) can use web, but now MILES MORALES CAN?! Put them into 2 columns and you will see that Miles Morales is NOT Spiderman (Peter Parker) (In reference to the Thor/Mjolnir use "explanation") You know who else isn't Thor? Captain America.
@icarusofthesun9306
@icarusofthesun9306 Жыл бұрын
A character, even when a god, having different characteristics from their original is vastly inferior when compared to the god being of a different gender completely. So your comparison is moot. You also have Spiderwoman, who exists in the same universe alongside Spiderman. However, one is not the swap of the other, they are independent characters. The gender swapped versions of characters these days tend to be as overpowered beyond what imagination dares to imagine. I don't have an issue with gender swaps in general, I don't like it, but it doesn't make me angry in and of itself. For instance Lucifer being gender swaped in the Sandman works because he was always meant to be androgenous in a sense. I was initially reluctant about the gender swaped Constantine, but the performance was very well done so it's fine by me. But then a question arises, if the events of John Constantine are identical in the show to the events in the comic why gender swap him? The story is the same, beat by beat, but for some strange reason he is a woman, why would you do that? Now we know very well why, but let's pretend the main issue is sexism, which it isn't. The difference for Miles Morales and Peter Parker, is that Miles Morales INHERITED the moniker of Spiderman from his predecessor. Again, Miles Morales did not take over the identity of Peter Parker and by proxy Spiderman. Captain Amerika being able to use, because he is "worthy", Mjolnir does not make him Thor. He still remained Captain America, Thor was still Thor during that time. But, if he took the new Mjolnir from an alternate reality, did the Thor in that reality stop being Thor and then went back to being a random "Joe". If we use the logic, as presented by Marvel, that he who holds the hammer is Thor, than the alternate Thor should have stopped being Thor the moment, at the very least, when they returned to their own reality, hammer in hand. I hope I have made my points clear.

Are you for real here? Would Joan of Arc be nearly as historically significant as she was if she was a dude, or Margaret Thatcher, or Milunka Savic, the most decorated female soldier in history, or even Boudica? No they wouldn't, they would certainly carve out a slice of history as theirs, there is no debate about that, but that slice would not be nearly as big as it is. Their story is intrinsically tied to their gender, because their gender is intrinsically tied to who they are, what they are, and what they represent. That in spite of everything being staked against them, not only have they managed to persevere, but, in a way, prosper and even flourish in their roles. It is specifically because they were women that their stories are so POWERFUL. Now imagine a movie bout any of these ladies. Now suppose Joan of Arc is played by the Rock? Would you not be appalled? Would you not feel that this entire movie and the reason behind it is a slap in the face of a culture and history that she sprang from? Dilute her story so it may appeal more to modern morality and to employ a "bankable" star instead of showing who they really were and all the challenges they had to have overcome in order to reach their lofty historical legend? That feeling right here, is the reason why. P.S. I already explained why in my previous comment, this is just being needlessly pedantic at this point. ENJOY.

@@icarusofthesun9306 is Thor's gender fundamental to his theology like Joan D'Arc's history? The point you didn't address is why gender swapping Thor would be any more or less blasphemous than having him get fat and play video games or do the splits to stop vehicles or be too dumb to figure out modern culture. Instead you just gave examples that are supposed to invoke anger out of me I guess? Point out some sort of hypocrisy? I don't see how gender swapping would be any more blasphemous than anything else Marvel has done with Thor, and you certainly haven't demonstrated that either.
@icarusofthesun9306
@icarusofthesun9306 Жыл бұрын
I have addressed it thrice by the time this comment is done. In the same way that the gender of the people I mentioned is important to their story, so is the gender of a deity important. Furthermore deities, in a vast VAST majority of time, represent a fundamental archetype of what it means to be a "warrior" in the case of Thor, or "wisdom" for Athena, or "authority" like Amon-Ra, or Zeus. To be more on the nose, Thor, in the nordic world, represents the masculine ideal, much like Aphrodite is the representation of the feminine ideal, with the Greeks. Now, as is often with polytheistic religions, these deities represent a very specific subtype of an ideal. In the case of the previous two examples, Thor would be the ideal of masculine strength and courage, stereotypical traits of the masculine, whilst Aphrodite would be the ideal of feminine beauty and tenderness. However, there is more to it. Thor is a murderer, cruel and vengeful, much like any other warrior at times. Aphrodite is seductive and manipulative. Both these archetypes represent both the positives and negatives of their particular subtype. As such their gender is inherently indivisible from who, or more importantly WHAT they both ARE and REPRESENT. Thor has several comedic stories much like any mythology. And the whole point of Thor's growth in the movies is: "How would a god from the early middle ages act within and perceive the modern world?" With this in mind, him being "silly" or "stupid" for the most part does not go against who Thor is. Unlike the modern interpretation of a god, Thor is not omniscient. Therefore he does not know anything about the world, apart from what he saw himself, or heard through various other characters. Naturally he would assume a lot of the things stayed the same, mostly due to the fact that his lifespan is ASTRONOMICALLY larger than that of regular humans. There is no possible way I can make this more clear. So if there are some points that are still evading you I would need to go into much more detail to fully explain it. But in all honestly I can't really see how much clearer I have the ability to be.

Ahh, you’re talking about movies, re: art, and any course in the subject will tell you that aesthetics doesn’t have an objective grounding. So when you start chunking around phrases like “objectively wrong” I start to laugh. Then again, maybe you’re part of the Randroid cult. They absolutely do. While I understand that a topic like aestethics is an inherently personal one and therefore reaching objectivity whilst discussing it is a challenge, meaning not every person will experience the aestethics in the same way, there is absolutely a discussion to be had about the quality of the aestethics. Lemme give you an example. Duel of the fates, one of the most legendary and iconic musical scores in the history of cinema is objectively fantastic. Yet there are deffinitely people who consider the soundtrack of "Legally Blonde" superior in every way. Subjectively to these.... People.... Legally Blonde has a better OST, objectively we all know which one is of a higher quality, which one takes more skill, more effort and more experience to make. Being a part of a course does not make anything automatically correct. Are you telling me that there is no aesthetic difference between the Mona Lisa and a picture of a stick figure holding a flower in a field drawn by a five year old? No difference between Bohemian Rhapsody, or All Along the Watchtower, or Fortunate son and Work by Fifth Harmony, that alltogether has about six different notes in its entirety? You see how aestethics or art in general having no objective grounding doesnt work when you look at it from a critical lense? And I would, personally, goes as far as to say that its a line told by inferior artists who do nothing but tell other more talented people how they themselves are just as talented as everyone around them, but nobody sees it cause its subjective. Objectivity is incredibly important for art because it provides a common vantage point from which we can observe and enjoy art for what it is, subjectivity in its purest form. All art is subjective, but at the same time, it is not equal.

In his world there is literally no room for Jane Austen or Mary Shelley or the Brontës (yeah, I know, I’m dating myself). Or heck, less than heroic male protagonists like Winston from 1984. It’s a very strange universe to me that basically cuts off half of the experience of our species, or to assume all stories with guys as the main character have to work like them being the macho hero. Similarly TurfNation really seems to want to defend some movies that make most people groan because they are boring to most people.

Oh dont worry, this channel is from popular enough for me to miss commenters. I've seen examples of them praising shows worth praising. I usually watch a show first before viewing reviews in most cases so I don't "infect" my mind with other peoples opinions, and I usually agree on most issues with the likes of CD. Arcane is a great example off the top of my head. It's fully female led and both CD and many others have praised it to high heavens, because it's JUST THAT GOOD. Avatar the last airbender is also a great example, plenty of competent female leads, one of them even being disabled and they turn out to be some of the best and most powerful characters in the entire show. No one ever says Toph is sjw propaganda, even though if you try you can do so easily. The difference is Toph is just simply a FANTASTIC character, to a point that whether or not she is an sjw character is not applicable as sjw is used to signify bad characters. She is headstrong, bossy, capable, powerful, rude, introverted, etc. but as the show goes on you start to see that it is all a facade, she actually cares incredibly intensely, has a connection with the rest of the gang perhaps stronger than anyone else and most important and clever of all... She is blind, which in and of itself is a great and inspiring thing to overcome, but she has not only managed to overcome it, but flip it into becoming her greatest strength. Just fantastic character writing. Shit I need to make a video on Toph. Anyway, I haven't seen CD criticise female characters where it isn't warranted all that much, as such, I can't help but respect the man's consistency when it comes to his standards. At the end of the day, I just expect more of my female leads. Simple as that.

And i personally dont believe his arcane recommend as it goes against his own video " why modern movies suck: they hates men" in which he clearly expresses a disgust in women who act like men in his opinion just skinswapping, yet this is what vi is and expresses at any point , aswell as being an lgbtq positive movie

Ah, well you see, it can be viewed from different angles. You look at it at face value. One show is criticized for the same reason that another show is praised, the CD is inconsistent. Another way of looking at it is one show is criticized for doing one thing BADLY, while the other show is praised for doing that same thing WELL. A strong female character does not, by default, mean masculine female character. Now Vi does show a strong tomboy streak, that much is true. She is a leader from a very young age, a fighter under the tutelage of her stepfather, i forgot his name. But she also cares deeply, just like Jinx, about her lost friends, she has guilt there, she cares for Zaun, her home. She falls in love, loses people, gains new people, gets the shit knocked out of her, gets back up again and again. She has a lot of knowledge of the Zaun underworld cause she grew up in it, where you are either tough or you die. The show explains all of this through the first couple of episodes, which are just a worldclass effort in world building, lemme tell ya. But most importantly, no one goes; Damn that Vi sure is tough! We are shown that, again and again. Cait finds her in a prison, she gets the shit kicked out of her, realises her sister is insane, finds her sister, breaks down, almost dies, start a pseudo uprising, finds her sister AGAIN, and loses her too... You know what she does after each of these events. She gets back up and dusts herself off. But we see it each and every time, we are right there with her. Thats on of the most important parts of characterization, seeing them when they are down. Make more sense now?

He can always hide under the premise that he doesn't actually have a very prejudice nature towards women in films...it's just that he doesn't like Woke messages. 10:38 This is catch 22 now. Because almost any superhero movie suffers from this. Some super powered villain or hero shows up but is not interesting enough to hold your attention. Venom suffers from this, Guardians of the Galaxy suffers from this, Thor Dark World suffers from this. When Critical Drinker goes out of his way to say Ragnarok is woke...he's attacking the low hanging fruit for buzz. Because by proxy if a movie is bad because the characters were bad it simply is alot more popular to criticize the character based on the fact that she was a left wing fill in for Hollywood to spew it's messages than actually criticize the villain or why she's actually not intriguing enough for you to care. 11:32 Again you are being so defensive of CD. He doesn't have to downright say it. Because again Plausible deniability. He will never downright say it. But his videos are implying it. I think Turf Nation would benefit from framing his arguments better but then again I think you are giving CD too much leeway in the beginning.

Should any person make that argument absent sarcasm or jest, they should be considered CLINICALLY INSANE by definition. If he does not say it, then he does not make that argument. He has also given many possible fixes to various characters that have never revolved around her being female, or feminime, rather adding character flaws, mistakes, wrong decisions failures in the story etc... All the movies that you yourself have mentioned as examples of movies with bad characters as a excuse for unfair criticism are widely considered as the worst movies in the MCU. So I have to ask, if these movies can be considered as bad, due to their bad characters, why are can't the same bar be set for female led movies with the same exact issues. The reason why he criticizes the wokeness is because of the coutner criticism that arises EVERY TIME like clockwork. Each time you criticise the female characters for being bad, you are labeled as sexist. It has reached such a point where I personally believe that Disney and the rest of Hollywood are counting on it and fully embrace it. Our characters arent ACTUALLY bad, its the VILLE SEXISTS that hate them. If his videos are implying it or not is a separate debate to what TurfNation is saying. Now I believe that the CD is extremely clear towards his criteria for bad characters and therefore implies frighteningly little. I could be wrong, but thats the way I see it. I don't agree every time, but at least I get it. As far as TurfNation and his arguments are considered, they are beyond help. Aristotle would nto be able to even comprehend, let alone help with the lack of basic logic this dude showed in his video that he had to sit down and think about for a time. That's the part that gets me. He had to sit down, and actually think about his arguments and this is the best he could come up with. Oh and the reason you probably got multiple notifications regarding this, is because I was answering on my phone and there were multiple responses for a simple comment, cause I wasn't able to scroll through your comment whilst responding and it was messy, so I deleted them, sat down at the PC and wrote the whole thing down in one go. I didn't to miss-remmember your words and respond badly or summat like that.

@@icarusofthesun9306 Response to first paragraph: Going under the assumption that someone has to be clinically insane be prejudiced against sexes or races is baffling to me. Maybe you are saying it in a way that your version of "clinically insane" is just a way to make fun of those of people who are prejudiced and not take them seriously. Which if that's the case ok then I can understand this. But I also don't get your argument that just because CD doesn't directly say these things then means you can't hold him accountable for these things in an argument. So because Trump never outright says that he doesn't like blacks or Hispanics then he doesn't mean he doesn't have a clear bias or prejudice towards them. CD sends these messages under the videos by implication. And he's able to hide under the premise that it's not bigotry. It's only my attempts to fight back against woke Hollywood or I'm just an asshole on the internet who drinks so Im mostly just making satire. I'm aware that Critical Drinker does make rewrites. But that is not proof that he doesn't show a clear bias towards women or minorites popular media because he tends to unfairly criticize films based on the fact they are woke when these same movies would never be woke if they didn't actually star a women or a minority. In his review of Loki he couldn't stop commenting on Trivial things like how a black female guard who was fat was Body Positive? Like why go out of your way to attack such trivial things? I would get it if he showed those same criticisms towards most other male characters who were fat but he doesn't. Response to second paragraph: Those same bars can be set. There are plenty of people who didn't like Hela as a villain in Thor Ragnarok. But again like Turf Nation explained in his response it has nothing to do with her being a woman. CD's smug and pretentious nature of constantly highlighting why Hela is so called woke can only be argued in bad faith. Hela is woke because she's powerful and beats Thor? Is that not exactly what a villain is supposed to do? Provide a proper foil for our hero? I would see his point if Hela talked in ways that makes her believe that women are superior to men and she has that's her whole problem with Thor but it's not. She hates Thor because she believes he's unworthy and not proper heir to throne. Paragraph Response for 3rd paragraph: Again I have to ask myself where are you getting this info? Because like I said before there a many people online who didn't like Hela. It has nothing to do with her gender. Are you referring to a small minority of people on Twitter who can't discern proper film criticism by why character XYZ is bad? Like what Big named Channel can you name off the top of your head that is reknown for having good film criticism that called most people sexist for not liking a female character? Because I can't think of any. But that stems from a bigger problem. Critical Drinker in the same exact video criticizes Hela and Valkyrie for being woke because they use them as to prop Thor as a joke. Now I can somewhat see that argument from Valkyrie but how where does that Argument come in with Hela? Is she making Thor out to be a joke because she's actually powerful enough to beat him? We never really know because he never spends enough time going into detail. Paragraph Response to 4th: yes I did speak about that Turf Nation didn't make some of points better when he should have. That we can agree

Nah I'm not gonna pick fights. The fight is between me and turfnations lies. Everything in the comments is an exchange of opinions, if ur nice and respectful to me, I'm going to extend the same common courtesy, regardless of your views. As you can see by the number of videos on this channel im unfortunately not very active here at the moment, hoping that changes in the next couple of months, so I just kinda missed this comment and, honestly, dont remmember what its really about anymore, its 4am locally right now so pardon me if going to sleep is a bit of a priority atm. :) I'll take a mental note to take another gander at the convo and the specifics tomorrow morning at write up a response. My point here is to not argue, but discuss. The idea is to create a respectful community of mutualy dissagreing people who don't go around blindly proving their points, I'm not above admiting when I'm wrong and I may sound a bit antagonistic in the video, but I hope it comes across as hyperbole in the video here and there, at least it does to me. Hela is a perfect example of a character I haven't really thought out in the video. Hope u stay on the channel once I start ACTUALLY uploading again and have a great time here. Have a good one.
