Art at its best this is how you get across a mgs without being offensive verbally one of the best songs ever put together...the melody is not orginal but the lyrical content is dynamic

@@gerrandphillip8902Indeed. I think in this case, reusing the melody, rhyme scheme, etc. enables the Calypsonian to connect up different times, thereby acting as a sort of archivist of popular sentiment and strengthening the oral history.

Definitely the music has no borders. I do not speak and understand English or a drop, but when I listen to, and lie down until the last day of my life: Soca music, it sounds to my ears like a veritable frenzy. I believe in past lives was a real singer-composer of this beautiful genre because simply I can not resist his charming melodies.

Nice Tune!! I noticed they sampled the same rhythm arrangement from Gypsy's "Sinking Ship" which he spoke about the state T&T during that particular time. Even at a slower pace, this music still kicks.....over here bopping my head.

One of the most venomous Calypsonians in history but he sings the truth which is based on a calypso tradition that goes back to slavery days when we had to fight for our freedom by various means including thru the use of the calypso artform to inform the population about what is going on and their rights not to be exploited. Back in the colonial era calypsonians had to disguise the names of folks in authority who they were exposing for corruption but in this independence era calypsonians are now free to directly call the names of those who they are addressing provided they are singing the truth.

I agree they are both crooks but you missed somebody else.Manning stole much more mainly because he was in power longer. He also allowed a canadian man named Calder hart to steal billions. But i guess that doesnt count

Both parties are guilty of the same types of corruption. I donot however believe PPP has done more damage yet at least. Calder Hart alone stole probably close to a billion dollars. Another one of Manning s cronies Uthara rao stole maybe 100 million and those are only two.

If Calder Hart stole money why didn't the PP/UNC prosecute him for such while they were in power for 5 years and 3 months especially as Calder Hart was in T&T on quite a number of occasions between 2010 and 2015 and the UNC won the 2010 elections based mainly on the alleged corruption and stealing by Calder Hart?

They can't prove a thing, plus Caldar Hart was not stealing. He was giving a contract to his wife brother. It was wrong only because you are not to bring family into these things. This is so different to the stealing that went on under the UNC. Biggest set of thieves to pass through Trinidad!

@bengit100 honestly now- i dont think that cro cro is racist in the least. he is just very blunt with what he says, and he pretty much calls it as he sees it, not thinking about who he offends- which is the mandate of the true calypsonian. a kaisonian has to take an issue and comment on it, highlighting it and hoping for a change (where applicable).
