I love England even though I'm Swedish and they eliminated us in the quarterfinals lol, but Croatia deserved to win, they were the better team and there's no doubt about that. Congratulations Croatia well deserved World Cup final. England needs to learn not to underestimate their opponents and take games for granted. They were already looking past Croatia and to the final as if they were already there. Big mistake and they paid for it.

The Swedes Versus What do you mean? The fans were all looking to the final, but the players weren’t just listen to the pre match interviews. Easy to say this sort of thing AFTER the match, you would have said that if they lost to Sweden. I'd love for you to show any interview or pod cast or ANY media at all, where ANY English player spoke in a poor light with regard to any of the teams they faced in the World Cup. The media always hype up England. But then, they hype up everything. They want to sell papers. Don't judge England's players or majority fan base just because of a few idiot hooligans (notice I didn't say fans) and the bullshit media put out some negative spin on something. Oh and p.s - they may have spoken poorly regarding Colombia...but then, they played disgustingly and showed themselves up.

You're the kind of fan I'd happily go and watch that game with and then have a pint with afterward. It was a great game, both teams gave it their all and it really could have gone either way. All credit due to Croatia for putting in a great performance and getting a well deserved result. Love from an England supporter!

I run into this by accident , but enough to say: he seems like an amateur when U listen to his analysis, its not only national pride that won England, but a better and more talented generation in skills and the inteligence of the players, which is highly underestimated. By the way: not one of the 22 players lost anyone in war, which was by the way finished 25 years ago, and he , as a Portugese should understand that not everyone wins by brute force and speed.

Actually, you are wrong, Luka Modric's grandpa (Luka) was killed in that war and his house was burned. Numerous times Croatian football national players stated that they play for warriors who gave their lives for defending his Country. Definitely, that gives them some extra motive. But OFC you must have talent and work and tactic to get to the WC Final.

@@Arhamhatan Thank you, I did not know that about Modric. He is now spoiled boy who plays for Madrid and has millions. Rakitic the same in Barca. All Im sayin is that war is long over, the time when they faught with spirit like that were more like 90ties, and I'm Croatian by the way: national pride is not so high anymore like it used to be. The way I see it midfield was probably the best in the world in that moment (Modric, Rakitic, Kovacic, Brozovic) and that is what made this result happen, and incredible faith and calmness of the coach Dalić. Attack was weaker, and U could see that. Midfielders won it. "gave their lifes like in a war" thank you ;) everyone fights like crazy at the World Cup. I don't know any nation who did not gave all they have. My point is- media are giving U the wrong infos and picture. Those boys did not fight in war, its forgotten and forgiven , they hug with Serbian players, and they have no rage in them. It was other stuff that won it.. By the way I think Belgium (not to mention Brasil, etc) is even better team than Croatian, definitely, when U look at the lineup and If we fought then at World cup we would have lost probably. Mourinho is a great coach and a tactitian, but a stubborn uneducated guy when it comes to some players. But I appreciate your comment

I don't think Croatia was better. I think Southgate lost the battle for England tactically, making wrong team selection and not adjusting in time after Croatia scored equalizer. On the paper england was significantly stronger with a lot more players playing in the top EPL/European Clubs than Croatia, but not having the wingers to keep the Croatia defenders back enabled Croatia to send the 2 wing defenders forward with endless crosses that reminded me of a high school football - just hit the cross maybe someone will get at the end of it. Dull, Croatian football....

tennisblood Croatia has many players in top leagues. Even if England has, let's be honest, almost every single player in England is so overrated it's insane. Player like Sterling makes more money than any player in Croatia. Let that sink in! He's absolute garbage! Stones can't defend if his life dependent on it. In fact only 3 English players would get into the Croatia team (Trippier, Kane, Walker) and maybe Pickford. You were shit all tournament completely lacklustre in open play. euro 2020 and WC 2022 will be another flop. There's a reason you're the laughing stock of the world you know. Don't feed us

tennisblood This is the dumbest thing I've heard about this match. England players are nowhere near Croatian players. Croats have won champions league every year since 2012, the last time an English won it and certainly wasn't any of the lads that player on Wednesday. England hasn't beaten any world class team this world cup. Rakitic plays in Barcelona, Modric and Kovacic in Real, Vrsaljko in Atletico Madrid, Mandzukic and Pjaca in Juventus, Subasic in Monaco, Lovren in Liverpool. All in first 11 except Kovacic and Pjaca. It's a fact Croatian players won more trophies than Enlgish players in the last few years. And it's a fact Croatia is far better team.
