Just wanna say thank you for the tutorial! So, I am making these with size 10 thread, because I am making them into earrings for my mother. She has stretched out piercings due to wearing heavy earrings for a long time. She is now really careful about wearing those kinds of earrings, and has been bummed about the tons she has that she can't wear. So I decided that I would crochet her earrings as often as I can, to help build back her collection. Your butterfly will be the first ones I give her!!! So thank you so much for the patten!!!!

Pretty 😊 You know, you can "crochet" the wire in - as you do your last (outside) row, you can "lay" it flat on the top of the stitches you put your hook through, so it ends up "inside"... It wouldn't work with too rigid wire, but even softer one will give you support and ability to shape it :))

You can also use fabric glue and water, dip the finished project in it, and then use pins and styrofoam to get a set look! It also makes it sturdier and I think it can protect the yarn color. I am actually making 2 butterflies with size 10 thread into a pair of earrings!

Your butterflies look so good! I can’t manage to follow your tutorial properly, the stitch count for each row would have helped a lot

Oh, so they count the chains from the hook differently than how most do. You chain 11, and while his tutorial says to DC into the 2nd ch, it is actually the 3rd ch from the hook. That should help if the stitches weren't adding up. If you are confused by anything else, I can help explain if you would like!

In R1 there is a stitch missing? Or it there an extra one at the end? Skip one into 2nd dbc, then 3 dbc, then hdc, then sc, then 3 sl st and that’s only 9 total but in your demonstration you get to the very end. Should we chain 10? So we are only working into 9?

So, this is due to how they counted the stitches from the hook. They didn't seem to count the ch directly next to the hook. It should be, ch 11, R1, DC into 3rd ch from the hook. I think it got fixed on the second part for the wings, but it was incorrect on the first. I had to slow it down to .25 speed to figure it out.

Hi Henri, I am just learning how to crochet butterflies, and I came across your video. You do such a beautiful job of crocheting the butterfly but there are a few things that I’m having trouble with when you are doing increases like dc inc, you don’t show if it is 1 dc inc or 2 dc inc in the same stitch it does confuse me and I’m stuck. I hope this is not a stupid question but I do need your help. Thank you so much. God bless you’re doing wonderful job with crocheting.😊

Depends on which row of the project you are working on. For instance, when they say ch 2 and turn, that ch 2 counts as a DC. The next row is DC inc, and when watching the video in .25 speed, they make 1 DC into the same stitch as the ch 2. They then move on to the next stitch. I will be working on the black outline soon, so I will figure out that part soon.

Holà, J'espère que tu pourras toujours concilier le crochet et la chanson. Plus tu seras connu, et plus tu risqueras d'avoir moins de temps au crochet. N'oublies pas une chose, toute ta finesse de se que tu éprouves en faisant du crochet, c'est toute la finesse que tu pourras apporter quand tu chantes, toute l'émotion que tu pourras transmettre. Jamais tu dois faire disparaitre le crocheter, sinon, il manquera quelque chose au chanteur que tu es. Je te donne ce conseil du fond du coeur, comme quand je le fais à mon fils qui doit être + ou - de ton âge : 19 ans. Je te souhaite une longue et heureuse belle vie. 🌺😉 PS : parlant mal l'anglais, je préfère laisser faire le traducteur afin que tu puisses comprendre quelque-chose. Si tu parles l'espagnol, voir le français, dis le moi. Je me débrouille en Espagnol.
