Quick video showing the gun up close and personal.
My stock had some minor imperfections. Nibs over at Walnut & Steel did a video showing the issues he ran into with his 362. Hopefully that was just an outlier. I’ll be doing more videos on this gun once I get it sighted in.

The lack of breech screw was in someone's video I watched, was one of the things I expected. Congratulations on your 362, and welcome to the club! Mine had some imperfections in the wood also, but I love it and it's been a tack driver from day one.

I must’ve missed that video as I wasn’t expecting that feature, so stoked! I really like the gun, it feels so nice 😀. I didn’t get a lot of time to shoot it last night but have been seeing some promising results so far at 20 yds. I’m looking forward to shooting it out to longer distances. I’m not sure that I’ll put a scope on it right away, the peep sight is pretty fun.

It feels really good to hold and I’ll do more videos so you can get more familiar with its pros and cons. I ordered mine on a bit of a whim. I was thinking maybe I should wait and see if the price would continue to drop? But mine was on order when I learned Crosman sold to Daisy so now I’m thinking these might have more appeal? I don’t know 🤷‍♂️, I bought it as a gun for shooting so its long term $ value doesn’t matter much to me. I like the features it came with but still think it’s $50-$100 overpriced.

The stock isn't as bad as I thought, could be better but I'd be fine with it too. I'd like to get one while I can but spent my budget on the 397 which I love so far, what a quality rifle.
@airgunsofalaska

That was my thinking too, I’m not disappointed in the stock, I just wanted to note what I found so guys would have an idea what to expect. I was glad to see the gun was more than just a wood stock, steel breech and Williams peep sight. I still think even at $300 it’s over priced for what it is but… it sure does feel good when pumping and shooting. 😀 The 397 feels so solid, right!? All the complaining some guys have done about the synthetic stock and they miss the point of how beefy and solid the 397 feels. It’s one of my favorite guns!

@@airgunsofalaska It must be pretty sweet to pump and shoot, I gotta check your vid comparing it to the 342 that's a great question to ask. The 397 is my new favorite 'grab and go' gun, it's just so accurate! No empty beer can is safe anymore😆

My younger bro got me one for Christmas last year. I didn't break the seal ether. I just slid the sleeve off too. I don't have anywhere to shoot it long distance. What are your thoughts on the height of the Williams sight? I'm just curious because the rear sights on all my other airguns don't sit so high, compared to the front.
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska 2 ай бұрын
This is my first experience with a Williams sight that I recall. I was adjusting it last night and to be honest I wasn’t all that impressed with it. I thought it’d have screws you’d turn to adjust elevation/windage. Instead I have to loosen and gingerly move the parts by hand, I think it’s a hassle. As far as height I didn’t notice anything abnormal, it felt comfortable at 20 yds. I plan to try it out to 50 yds so I’ll know better in a few days as I’ll need to raise the elevation higher.
@jackpotparty58
@jackpotparty58 2 ай бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska I believe the rear sight that comes with this gun is of the "set and forget" philosophy. You might be able to convert it to thumb screw adjustments but the Williams product numbering scheme confuses the hell out of me. Lol I got a rear thumb screw adjustable notch Williams sight for my Crosman 2289 but I can't tell you what model number it is. I just saw that it was the one I wanted, at a low price, and bought it. 😂
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska 2 ай бұрын
@@jackpotparty58 the hassle to do fine adjustments on this peep sight make sense that’d it be a set and forget. That’s a bummer as I just assumed fine adjustments could be done by using a screwdriver. My Norica Dreamhunter had a lot better, user friendly adjustments on its rear sight. I’m guessing this must be the cheapest, low end model of a Williams Peep sight? Thumb screws would be nice but I agree, that sounds like a frustrating affair to get figured out.
@jackpotparty58
@jackpotparty58 2 ай бұрын
I'm sure, like you mentioned, it's probably at the lower end of the Williams sight offerings. I have a rear sight on my 2400 KT that is probably a step lower. I got it because it's the perfect height if I add a front sight to a TKO moderator. The higher end sights "click" using a system of thumb screws, balls, springs, and notches. You can lock them in place when finished adjusting. The high end sights that fit Crosman airguns can push up to the $100 range.
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska 2 ай бұрын
@@jackpotparty58 Wow! That’s a ton of money for a high end, clicker adjustable rear iron sight. I definitely can’t justify that. While it’s pretty neat to see how well you can shoot at long distances with a rear peep sight, I can totally see the novelty wearing off rather quickly. Time will tell if I mount a scope on this gun. Right now I like how light and slim it feels.

@@joedokes8641 I totally agree, a guy shouldn’t have to fix stock issues on a gun that costs this much. Even with it being marked down I think it is still over priced. I had mine in the sun a few days ago and the same rough sanded spots are on my where there cut down for the grip and never went back and sanded it smooth. I'm wouldn't group at all until I pulled several patches down the barrel. Then at about 15 yards I could get 3 shots touching trying to sight in. I stopped there because mine is shooting like 8 inches low 15 yards. I had the same issue with the peep sight. I think somethings holding the breech up slightly on the end where the barrel fits in causing the barrel to point down slightly. Can see just maybe a tiny gap on that end between the tube and receiver. I was lucky and actually got 333 of 2023 so they're either selling out of order or remaking the returned airguns with those numbers. Someday I could refinish the stock and make it totally gorgoues because the wood is nice. For now I'm gone just put something like Gun Glo or a wax and polish after I fix the shooting low. With Crosman being sold to Daisy and basically owned by Gamo I make fix and and put it back in the box. Not sure what's going to happen to Crosman. Word is customer service is being moved to Gamo in Arkansas. They may end all production and the custom gun shop. My custom 1300KT is one the way just in case the custom shop is closed down. Heck, We may loose the Crosman Premier pellets too. Never can tell what will happen next.

Dang! I hope those rumors are wrong, I’ve not used Crosman customer service hardly at all but when I did they were very helpful. I’m hoping for the best with the sale but fearing the worst. I’m curious to learn how the quality and finish of the guns shakes out as more people get them and we learn about the numbers. Last night while shooting my gun also shot low at 20 yds and I too had to clean the barrel. I’m seeing some promising accuracy now but my modified 362 and 367 guns are a lot better. BUT, those have scopes so I’ll need to get more used to the peep sight. I quite like the gun and am looking forward to shooting it again. 😄

It was kinda funny, my gun was on order for a week and then your video came out and I was like “Uh oh!” 😆. Fortunately the stock was in much better condition than I was imagining it might be but you’re right, it still should be finished properly. I’ve bought way cheaper Chinese made Crosman springers that had more nicely finished stocks. Same goes for my Hatsan Mod 95. The wood is the nicest thing about that gun. Overall I’m happy with this 362, part of me is happy it isn’t perfect as I plan on shooting it a lot so when it gets nicked and dinged up I won’t be so upset.
