Continuing with the air guns we have the Crosman Model 1377 American Classic (phase 2) made in 1981. This one is a Milsurp Garage museum relic as it was purchased by my dad in 1982 and was used faithfully “in the lots” during my early teenage years as I learned how to plink with pellets.
Come along as we check out some Crosman history, detail the design and birth of this model, compare it to its competitors, and find out why it is that you can still buy a brand new one of these today.
The interest in these air guns here at the Milsurp Garage was unexpected but I’m ready. Our second in the air gun series of videos is right here and we have a couple more to go so settle in for a fun ride.
UPDATE: Nibs from the Walnut and Steel KZfaq channel offered his expertise to refurb this 1377 on his channel as a "how to" if I sent it to him so of course I took advantage of that offer! Here is a link to the refurb video.....

In the late 60s I was shooting a Daisy model 99, in the early 70s I was shooting a Crossman Power Master 760 pump. Now thats a true classic. Don't make them anymore.

I happen to have purchased mine in 1984. Same model and box like you have. Still accurate and I added a Red Dot (Crossman) recently. Very accurate at 10 to 25 yards. Great Air Gun.

I like the Crosman 1377 airgun model that has the magnetic bolt that allowed you to shoot B•B's. I want to replace the barrel with a smooth bore barrel for better accuracy and more velocity !

There was a guy who made a smoothbore 25 caliber barrel for his 1377 or 1322. That sounds like an interesting project.

I guess I edited it out. I had a whole timeline printout from Crosman that I went through but it was exhausting. You are correct....that gap was filled with a 130/137 and a 140/147 model. Thought I left that in.....

Really great video, very interesting history on that model. And man I can tell you really used that old one a LOT, by the color being worn off the barrel and cylinder! That's a nice piece, it's great that you've kept it all these years. I have an old Benjamin HB17, I think I got it around '83 or '84, I was 17 at the time and really enjoyed it for many years. Still have it and it still works fine, but like yours, the color is worn off pretty good and the pump handle is a little sloppy now.

That was glued to me for years in a leather satchel I carried over my shoulder on my bike with a wrist rocket and a milk container of crosman copperhead bb’s and a paper bag of pachinko balls. A regular mercenary, no Budweiser can was safe. Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks for the kind words. There may be some interchangeable parts, but it was a pretty extensive overhaul. When looking to buy parts, it specifies the model they are for which can give you an idea of any parts that are interchangeable.

No my dad kept me very well stocked up on pellets bb’s and co2 cartridges. Shooting BB guns was one of the things that me and him enjoyed together in the summer. Well he enjoyed catching a buzz while I was plinking away. The 90s were a better time in my opinion

😊 That looked like it has been upgraded or came from the custom shop. What a awesome gift to get from your Dad in the 80's it already has a steel breech and that's the first one I have seen with a magnet pellet guide probe. 🥷🥋🥷
@MilsurpGarage
@MilsurpGarage 9 ай бұрын
No...the breech is plastic....its an early phase 2 but yeah, that magnet was cool back in the day to stop the BB from just rolling down the barrel. They cancelled the BB recommendation right after this.
