Interesting! I’ve never heard of a gun being BB picky but I also don’t shoot a lot of BB’s. In the Daisy 880 Fanatic Fix it videos he used those Black Diamond BB’s. I’ll switch to some different BB’s and see if it improves how the gun runs. Thanks! 👍

While I don’t want to be pessimistic I think something broke or chipped in the gun and it’s now junk. The older all plastic versions of these inexpensive springer type pistols lasted way longer than this gun.

@@airgunsofalaska Plastic quality has gone down so much, bakelite is over 100yrs old and it's better than the cheap stuff these days, all these new technologies and they use it to cheapen stuff as much as possible😤

@@yoitired I need to do the scratch test on my magazine as it sure doesn’t look or feel like plastic, I’d think it was diacast metal of some type. But, if it’s a high quality plastic and weighted than it’s very good! Everything I’ve watched/read said plastic so I’m pretty certain that’s what it is however, same was said about the receiver on my Daisy 753 and it was indeed painted diacast aluminum.

Sounds good! Is there another product similar to Balistol? I don’t have any and it’s not going to be available locally.

@@airgunsofalaska Rem oil? I am using the black bb’s also.Mine works fine with the silver Daisy bb but is way more accurate with the black. ones from Crosman or Hornandy

I try to walk daily and it is along to use on targets along the walk It's out in snow and rain so it is kept oiled.I think you might like Balistol might want to order a small container to try it does smell my son hates it

@@joeasbeck1924 what is rem oil? Is it a Remington brand of gun oil? I ordered some black Hornady BB’s this morning and was using Daisy silver BB’s in both videos. I’m hoping something isn’t chipped or broken inside the gun but I don’t have high confidence there isn’t one of those issues.

@@joeasbeck1924 hopefully I’ll get it up and running properly again. I’m bummed it already requires attention as I don’t think I was rough on it. I shot it the same as I did with all plastic versions of older springer type pistols and they lasted way longer. My ‘83 Daisy 188 still works fine. 🤷‍♂️

I nervous something may now be bent, chipped or malformed inside the gun. Hopefully the magazine follower just needs a lubricant like was mentioned. I really enjoy shooting this gun and am bummed it’s having issues within the first day of shooting.

Total bummer I started experiencing malfunctions.

@@trevorjameson3213 I remember it was all dis cast metal and was very tough and reliable. It certainly wasn’t powerful or accurate but I bet it still works.

Yes, Daisy steel BB’s right out of the container. They worked flawlessly earlier in the day.

@@airgunsofalaska I feel your pain. Another brand maybe...I bought a truckload of cheap gamo pellets, some of which fall right out of the barrel, and some of which need hammering in.

@@ErickvdK hopefully the black Hornaday bb’s I ordered allow it to function better. I found a Daisy 880 Fix it video that looks like it show disassembly of this gun. I’ve not yet watched it. But I’ll take it apart to see if there is anything jammed in there or chipped or bent. Unfortunately I’m expecting the latter which will be very disappointing.

In the comments I got a suggestion to try a different brand of BB’s and I said I would but I’ve been shooting the same Daisy BB’s the whole time through the gun. They worked perfectly at first and then the gun started to malfunction.
