Looks like a lot of fun to be out there in the snow like the rifle by the way I got the 1322 in rifle mode need that one as well 😂

I have a 2289 I believe its the perfect carbine also. I pump it 5 times for 15 yards and easily keep it in 1" groups using only peep sight, rested of course 🙂. Also if you want to tighten up the stock I've used moleskin on the inside upper portion just one side and its rock solid. I'm going to put the steel breech on soon and then put a scope on which I'm sure at 25 yards will be a fun/accurate carbine. Thanks for sharing 🙏.

That's nice. I got hold of a crosman 2250b Ratcatcher years ago, all of the classic 13XX series are good plinkers and excellent for pest control. Thanks for a great video.

Very nice! I have a custom one from Alchemy Airworks but i like your older style front grip better. And the bolt handle you chose is nice. Cold weather must be the best thing about the grav mag and i guess the pumping helps keep you warm, lol.

Ha ha! The Gravmag works well for certain things and not so well for others. I don’t mind pumping, it’s good exercise. What I’ve found since creating this channel is a new found appreciation for pneumatics. I shot my Hatsan 95 the other day and was taken aback by how unrefined it felt to shoot with all the vibration and recoil.

You can take a mini-mag AA flashlight and put it in a one inch see through scope mount and the light will pick up the front sight and the eyes of a pest critter at night. You would probably have to drill out the peep sight for shooting at night.

@@joemorton9217 That’ll make for a nice set up. I don’t care for any of the scope mounts that clamp on the barrel like is required with the plastic breech. They aren’t very solid and your concern about pumping is valid. The steel breech is very secure but I’d still lean towards using a smaller scope. The Drifter is light and handy and it seems like a lot of guys ruin that feel by over scoping the gun.

Good thing that it is cold ousside or this pump cup would be boiling hot and it could set the forest on fire while trying to reload it fast pumping into the branches! Haha Very fun littles not precharged pneumatics! _I really like my 1377 carbine._

How do you like that magazine and does it work well?
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
I like it much better now than when I first got it. It’s simple to use, in my one video with my 362 I over complicated things and didn’t have my breech screw at a high enough elevation to allow of smooth feeding. Gravmag provides washers set the breech screw slightly higher. I actually like the Gravmag set up better than my Marauder magazines. Those are more time consuming to load. Overall my Gravmag is feeding pretty smoothly probably 80-90% of the time depending on what pellet I’m shooting. I’ve still had the occasional pellet slightly catch on the breech screw hole when sliding the bolt forward. It doesn’t happen all that often and I’ve not put a drop of wax on top of the breech screw head. The one issue I had this weekend was repeatedly getting Meisterkulgen pellets jammed up when loading. If I didn’t pay attention while loading with gloves, the pellet could shift sideways in the loading tube and become stuck. I had to pry out a pellet with a dental pick on two separate occasions. Overall the Gravmag works quite well with round nose pellets but it’s not perfect. Of course, neither is the Crosman Marauder magazine.

Thanks for the detailed response Alaska. That was exactly what I needed to hear before I bought two for my Crosman guns. Johnny hates jams and bent up pellets causing flyers indoors. Have you compared accuracy with the mag vs single?
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
@@johnnybbgunner2136 you may not like the Gravmag as I’ve had bent pellets and flyers using it. But, that was more with my 362 while I was getting used to it and didn’t have the breech screw high enough. It’s working a lot better on the Drifter but it’s the exact same set up as my 362 with Crosman steel breech and Torx head breech screw. A guy would have to add wax or something else to make the feeding as smooth as possible. While I’ve not tested it specifically with accuracy, I know that it has caused flyers from some pellets catching on the breech and getting nicked or slightly malformed when feeding. You can feel the resistance with your hand when working the bolt. When I was troubleshooting my 362 accuracy issues and took the Gravmag off to eliminate one variable. You’ll definitely get the greatest accuracy by loading one at a time manually. This is starting to give me an idea for another video. 🤔😀

@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
I found the rear sight on eBay from a seller called caboosecustomsco. It was a little higher priced that I thought it should be but still a good piece as the other options can be considerably more expensive. I had a bit of a learning curve with the Gravmag last fall but I’ve got it figured out now. I especially like it for cold weather as I’ve found handling pellets in gloves is awkward.

@@pricelessppp here’s a link to the eBay rear sight. www.ebay.com/itm/234650367932?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=TD_Rx3PwSHq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=-BT68jhwRJy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I looked up the silencer and it appears the Buck Rail company is using a holographic or red dot sight. I’m guessing that’s because the silencer doesn’t have a means to attach a front sight? I initially tried a cheap Crosman red dot sight I had and I couldn’t see it outside with the brightness of the snow. It was more of a toy than a good quality one. But, I liked the Jeff Cooper idea of using a low powered, extended eye relief scope. No batteries, so far the scope hasn’t fogged on my in cold weather and I have back up iron sights. My yard is pretty big so I don’t have a need for a silencer. They are nice though. I like how quiet my Marauder is.

I ordered it directly from Grav-Mag off their website. Shipping was fast and reasonable all the way from the UK. But be forewarned, the mag can be finicky at times. It’s sensitive to the manner in which it is loaded and what pellets are used. I’ve had it get jammed up many times because the pellets got cockeyed within the tube. Overall it’s not super expensive and works decently 70% of the time.

@@pricelessppp I’m not familiar with either one but I looked them up and they appear to cost a similar amount to the scope I got. The AMsport 4x32 looks like it doesn’t have an extended eye relief. I see it listed at 3” while the scope I use has 8-1/2” of eye relief. If you want something for snap shooting then you’ll want extended eye relief. I’m not sure what the other scope you mentioned offers?

@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Жыл бұрын
@@pricelessppp so far it’s been working good for me. It only has 2.5 magnification so it’s not a target shooting scope at longer ranges. A red dot would fulfill the same function for snap shooting but I didn’t want to deal with a battery and I wanted to try out Jeff Cooper’s scout rifle concept. I like the scope as you can shoot with both eyes open with practice.
