Amazing. Also, new templates should be good beginning areas to build on, such as one with a scene containing a post-processing Camera ready or another scene with 2 nice lighting types and maybe a cool example shader. Overall these look really well made, Good Job :)

People want Unity to be like Unreal and i was one of them but seeing this it just shows Unity is unique and does things its own way and i want it to be that way

I think what most people (me included) want is for Unity to have more features out of the box, like Unreal while maintaining its ease of use and fast workflow

@@drinkwwwaterrr some is fast workflow, some doesnt such as version control in unreal is whack. unreal cpp compilation times also is. however on the blueprint side its good. not to mention unreal hardware requirements

The new URP samples look impressive. I am really keen to be able try them out. The video mentions that they will come to use with Unity 2023.2 beta. Does anyone have any more information on when? I really curious to see how the scene transition implementation works; I may have a use of it in a VR project.

This looks amazing and all, but...a feature I really want to see in urp is: The ability to select already made scenes with settings that are specifically optimized for a platform instead of doing that cleanup and setup when starting a new project with urp. So when you choose urp, you can select for mobile, PC or console...

Some of the project templates work pretty well for that. Off the top of my head there is a 3D mobile, 2D, and base 3D project template which is preconfigured and works well in unity 2022. (For URP specifically, has stuff like SSAO and a global volume preconfigured)

Unreal Engine 5 is just insane Super powerful, super beautiful, and honestly superior in many ways. Unity, however, is NOT Unreal Engine. Unity is Unity, and it should always be that way Don't try to be a Unreal Engine clone. Be Unity! I use you over UE for a reason. Keep it up.

This is nice, but I still wish Unity made the last 90% of a game just one time rather than doing the first 10% over and over again. Unity has always worked great for the first 10% of the game, but scaling that to the end is where most of the real development pains are. For example, relying on layers for light masking a single room feels risky - you're binding global state to cause a local side effect - and how might this scale in a game that loads content at runtime and might not know which rooms have those lights? As for the quest game lightnapping workflow - seems ok for small games but how will it scale? The quest has minimal textire memory and you're using a heap just on a lightmaop for one ship. It just doesn't feel like you've actually battle tested these ideas in a real product project. You also don't talk about resolve cost for the post effect with tiled gpus - most quest titles won't have the performance budget for resolving depth to do an outline post process. Feels like a lot of the decisions here were made because the team knew they only had to ship 10% of the game.

And you gonna need atleast 12 cores 24 threads of cpu and 12gb of vram to run all of that , it's sick but the requirement are kinda insane
