This was the best 1 hour 30 mins I have spent on youtube, I have been cross-stitching for more years than I want to remember, and to find this tutorial has been a real eye opened, I had never heard of parking before, thank you so much for uploading this, it is really appreciated.

Thank you for making the only parking tutorial that is concise (as concise as it can be for more advanced techniques), makes sense, and is *actually* the parking method and not just “cross country but its in a line.” I’ve tried watching/reading SO many other tutorials and yours is the only one worth watching! Thanks for showing the different options and talking about/SHOWING the pros and cons of each. I’ve been really wanting to try more complex pieces and you just showed me how easy it’s going to be to accomplish that!

When I park and using full stitches, I stitch the first half of the stitch and park the third hole. Doing it that way makes it much easier to see which stitch it is that you've parked which works excellent for confetti and it also makes the parked thread less likely to get pulled out (:

This is the first parking tutorial that had made sense to me. Your explanations are clear, and having the inset of the actual pattern onscreen in the same orientation as your actual stitching made it so much easier to make the connection! It's probably a plus for me that I'm left-handed also.

FINALLY someone who stitches like me!!! Everyone else creates a half stitches, then comes back. I discovered that creates problems if and when you have to frog. Their top stitches are backwards from me too. Their top stitch slants to the left. Mine slants to right. I SOOOO agree with you.

As you mentioned, in your other video (and in others I have watched) starting at the start is not usually shown in how the parking method is done. You explained the how’s and why’s so nicely. I’m here to see if I want to try “parking”. First, great video! I haven’t seen another this good, this in depth. I stitch “in hand”. I’ve never been comfortable using a frame, hoop, stand, nothing. But I’m about to start the biggest project I’ve ever worked on. My question is..... does parking “waste” a lot of thread? Is there a way to guess how much extra I would need? Also , how “bulky” does the back end up being with all that thread everywhere? Thanks

Just found your video and subscribed and rang the bell. It was a great teaching video and made alot of sense. Ive always wondered if we could use Crayola washable markers for gridding, is it easy to wash out in the sink?? And does feathering your squares or page line truly help from getting tension lines?? Thank you so much for taking your time to teach this method. Ive cross stitched for years but just discovered Haeds and all these new techniques for stitching them. Thank you so much for this video. I looked at others that started midway and I was just confused - this was so much more helpful. I'm new to cross-stitching (about to finish my first project which is quite simple, but moving on to a more complicated "confetti" type pattern). These might seem like dumb questions, but here goes: 1. What is the magic computer program that you use that allows you to highlight the patterns like that? 2. When you are doing a cross-stitch for yourself rather than tutorial, do you still draw the grid like you did here? It seems incredibly handy, but I wonder what type of marking tool you would use. Definitely the best tutorial on the subject I’ve watched to date. My linear thinking brain could actually process it and have it make sense. I really like the method you started your video with but unsure if I should use it since I’m planning on using 25 count Easy Count (which to my understanding is a blended even weave). What method do you use for your higher count even weave Easy Count fabrics?

I have literally watched almost every one of your cross stitching videos! I am extremely new to cross stitching. I have only done one tiny project from Hobby lobby. I bought a bigger kit and started it (gridded everything) and went to start it and realized that the thread it came with was terrible!! 😭 I’m gonna get another kit. Do you recommend using the parking method with one of those kits? Or something else? Because it only comes with a certain amount of thread. Also what is the name of the program you use in this video? You talk about highlighting and marking the stitches you've completed which seems like a great tool. However I have a lot of projects I do that are printed in color and you cant exactly highlight them in a way you can see that. What would you suggest for marking so that you know where you have already stitched on a full color pattern?

I noticed your stitches are different than how my beginner book says. It tells me to start with /and then a \ over the first stitch, so all run with a right on bottom and a left on top.

You are the first I’ve heard say to do the entire cross. I hate doing half then coming back. Stitches end up messy. So many seem to pound the idea of half then finishing.

You're showing what you are doing but you're not explaining WHY you park in a certain area or why you cose which stitches to do next.
