That was a nice setup video. You covered things the other video didn't. I think I might wait until I hear how you feel it in future videos.

Yeah this is the first scroll frame that I have liked. I never liked the side tension before.

Hi, just a suggestion on extra fabric on the top and bottom to place in the groove of your scroll frame- if you do not have enough then just baste some cotton fabric to the top and bottom to extend the length while you are working - that way you do not have to compromise your stitching fabric or buy a larger amount just because of that reason. :) what do you think??

Yes Ma'am I am betting that would work. Tricia Miller also suggested this to me via my inbox. I was going to say something about it on my last video but could not think of her name and wanted to give her credit as well! Thanks for the suggestion. I just am not sure how to go about it, do I use just scrap cotton fabric and trim it away when I am done?

You did say in the video you got the standard frame with the 20" top bars and the 8-10" side stretchers. :). I have a stand I bought from Michael's and i had planned on modifying this to accommodate the Millennium frame as it looks like it's not as convenient as a hoop for take-along projects. So you have felt the standard frame has best suited your current cross stitching needs? you don't feel you have outgrown it yet?

So, here's the question - how does it work with your stand? I had the same thing happen - the fabric popping. Ha! Goes to show that we have to be careful about too much tension. Never thought there was such a thing.

Thank you for your videos! It's been helping me so much with my cross stitching! Just a question on this frame - do you find the 8-10" stretcher bars suits most of your needs or do you think the 12-14" would be good to start with, anticipating larger projects down the road? I am trying to decide whether to stay with the 8-10" or order the 12-14" instead. Your thoughts are most appreciated!

QuerkieGal Ugh, to be completely honest I can not tell you off the top of my head which stretcher bars my hubby purchased. It was whatever is default on their sets. The side bars, are fine. As I don't really see myself stitching on a space that "tall". Now as far as width, any larger than these (again the default size) you will HAVE to have a stand, these are almost too big to stitch with out a stand. :) Sorry I don't know the exact measurements anymore off the top of my head....I hope I stated them in the video Ugh!

how do you stitch with this scroll? do you set it on a table? I can't wrap my head around scrolls that are that big unless you put it on a stand. How do you use it without a stand?

I don't know if you have figured this out by now but when you screwed it together during setup you can actually move te but thing to where it touches too bar so you don't have to screw it so much.

I am sorry I don't know of any online framing companies. My husband has a coworker that does all of our framing, it is one of his hobbies. He and his wife both have done Cross stitch so he knows how to care for the works too.

I seem to sit "indian" style most of the time anyway so I use my legs like a stand...or prop it on the arm of mt chair. It is not too big to use with out a stand for me I can even hold it in hand..when propped on the arm of the couch...They do have smaller ones...

It sadly doesn't. My dad is going to look into making a stand or making something to go on my current stand to make it work. LoL at popping the fabric. I SO thought I had cracked the frame. Then when I realized what I did felt so dumb. I know who knew there was too much tension?? I was actually looking to make sure I wasn't stretching the holes of the fabric.

Bummer. There is a relatively cheap floor stand that I got at Michaels (F.A. Edmunds Universal Craft Stand, I think) and that "works". It's a temporary solution until I find something better. It's not super easy to use but manageable.

No ma'am it is not working with the ergo. I am looking into some fixes as well as some other stands. I huat can't justify the money their stand costs. Also they arent in stock right now. I am able to stitch with this size without stand but cant imagine using a larger scroll set without a stand.

Does this frame work on tapestry?
@StitchingMae
@StitchingMae 6 жыл бұрын
+Magdalena Koh I am not a hundred percent sure. I'm not really familiar with tapestry or the difference between tapestry and cross-stitch. The company name is needle necessities. There is also a similar frame made by Olminaik(not sure of spelling). You could probably get in touch with one of those two companies and they could give you more information. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

No no you have been very helpful and I thank you!!! In fact, the UK co, Needleneeds, just replied me yesterday and the staff used it on her tapestry. So it does work on tapestry canvas. Thank you again for your reply! ps I enjoyed your tutorial too
