so, this is my first ever animatic!! this started as a joke during quarantine and somehow here we are, with a full video. oof. this is based on some very old fan characters a friend and me have and that i'm still attached to, set in the pjo universe. i found the song on youtube and it was perfect to this moment were danae leaves camp to join the titan army. i hope you like it!
this was a pain to do but also really fun so maybe in the future i'll do some more videos, who knows :]
the song "crossing the line" is from tangled the series and belongs to disney.
the step sound effects were taken from fesliyan studios (thank you!).
the pjo universe belongs to rick riordan.
i only did the art!

yes!! there's actually a bunch of reasons for her to choose kronos' side on the war, but she puts a lot of importance on her being a child of hecate and she believes that in the world they have created anybody outside of the olympians doesn't matter, so she wants a change. she wants to be recognized as who she is, you know? thank you for watching!!

kjbfkjlsbfj this is so amazing!! I love it. This is something the canon has touched on but never actually- like, written a story about. We know a lot of Kronos's fighters were children of minor gods but this- I love it so much ughhh

i know!! the closest we got was "the son of magic" about alabaster which i really really loved, but it was only the aftermath of the battle of manhattan. we also got some info from luke's motivations but nothing from all the kids from the minor gods so i've always been curious as to how all that could have gone for them. i really enjoy exploring this side! thank you very much and i'm glad you liked it

It is so beautiful. I adore every second of it. I`ve watched it twice and I will watch it again, because it is so good. The facial expression, movements are so good for animatic and sound effects fit so well... what is mean is your characters are marvelous, the animation is awesome. It truly has pjo`s spirit.

I've never understood how Hecate isn't one of the twelve given her power set and that of her children (anything BUT "minor") Also; This animatic is fantastic, a real masterpiece! Your art style in fabulous and so underrated. The story of your characters is so intriguing. Please make more :)

i think so too! hecate is such a powerful goddess and such a fascinating figure in greek mythology, and even in riordan's worldbuilding she manages so much stuff, so i don't understand how she's so overlooked. it's frustrating! thank you so much, seriously!! i can't promise but i'll try to come back in the future with another video about them!

@@owlysh You're totally right! I'm glad someone gets it! It's a stroke of genius on your part to take advantage of the way hecate is overlooked and underestimated and make a really relatable (kinda)villain. Riordan's really set up a great opportunity to make us sympathise with the traitors, particularly Danae and her brothers and sisters who can MORE than hold their own against the other demigods. Hecate's kids won't be overlooked or underestimated ever again! I really hope you do upload more videos on your OCs. Or even just link a wattpad or a discord server in the description. A lot of people down here are really invested in these characters :)

Yeah I honestly think she would have been one of the 12 and displaced Dionysus but then again Dionysus is also really powerful because he's the god of pure insanity too. Im writing a book series kind of based of PJO too and I made her the head enchantress of Hades's Court so she has a powerful spot

This is sooooo good! I love the art syle, and how the flashbacks and stuff really highlight how close they were. One quick question that you dont have to answer if you don't want to, but i was thinking about trying to maybe make an animatic at some point, not yet cause time, but are there any tips that you might have? Also, what do you use to draw/animate this?

thank you very much for putting so much effort! actually my only thought in that scene was to show that the "luckless" are a lot, especially from danae's point of view. danae's brother is actually a character from the books, alabaster c torrington! apart from him and ethan everyone else was just random so they're no one in particular. when drawing the other two minor gods i was thinking of a nereid (though her characteristics are only seen on the sketch-) and hypnos :] you're the first one to comment on that, so thank you!

thank you very much!!! and no they aren't! the girl with buns/main character of the animatic (?), danae, is a child of hecate, and the girl with braids, callie, is a daughter of apollo! they're in the same group of friends at chb, that's all! it just so happened that the person that created callie and me had the same idea when it came to designing our ocs and both ended up with freckles haha thanks for asking!

Just an FYI the proper terminology would be oc character(s), rather than fan character(s)! OC stands for original character, I believe. I loved the video!!

i kind of use them alternatively when it comes to characters i create for a preexisting franchise (mostly because "fc(s)" stands for other things apart from fan characters and ppl recognize much more easily "oc(s)"), but doesn't original character mean that it's from your original creation and fan character that it's a character that it's used for a preexisting creation that isn't yours, like in this case? ahh maybe things have changed since i last checked though. anyway, thank you very much!!
