Crossing The Rubicon Today | Path of Julius Caesar

We crossed the Rubicon by foot at the actual location where Gaius Julius Caesar and his Legio XIII Gemina (13th Legion) crossed in January of 49BC. Setting in motion Caesars Civil War and making the phrase "Crossing The Rubicon" Synonymous with "the point of no return" or "alea iacta est" - "The Die is Cast". We follow in his footsteps across the river to nearby Ariminum (modern day Rimini) to the spot where he addressed his Legions at the start of the war.

It is such an iconic saying: 'he's crossed the Rubicon' and yet hardly anyone has ever videoed the river itself or the actual spot Caesar crossed. Another excellent presentation, TT (and your lovely partner), thank you.

Thank you! And I had wondered why no one really had done a video on it, it was something I wanted to do anyways, especially when I learned how shallow the actual river is (and probably was back then)

I hope you make your way to Rome. Caesar's assassination site just opened to the public. Largo Argentina, the site of the Theater of Pompey. Only 3-4 city blocks from the Pantheon. I was there 6 weeks ago but had to view it from street level.

@@TattooedTraveler this. To be honest and try to stay humble. I really think that we here in Croatia better pizza.... maybe I'm just used to Pizza here. Pizza bread is just better here. But, I'm probably wrong or I haven't eat real very expensive one Italian pizza, nor I haven't been in Napoli :)

The best Italian pizza I've ever had was in a genuine Italian pizzeria in Edinburgh. And thats also where I had my best Fajita ever, in a Mexican restaurant there. Which shouldnt surprise, given the local cuisine. There is plenty culinary opportunity for immigrants to shine. 😅
