Love Tony Bellew, he is the perfect underdog story who achieved what he did by proving people wrong because of that self determination of never giving up. Wears his heart on his sleeve and speaks his mind. People take it the wrong way at times but he's showed a lot of his true humble personality towards the end of his career. He's also self depreciating at times and you can tell he's just being real. Being himself. Just an all round great guy.

Oh my God Tony, what ever you were briefed on “Not so say” worked, your “so” gonna win more friends and influence people with interviews like this! Man, not a swear word insight (well that’s prime time for yah) but you came across (Am I really gonna day this?) as humble! Listen when you go through what you have been through and your cooking on adrenalin at the end of a bravely won boxing match your allowed to let the guard down. However humble, a gentleman who has matured over a twenty year active participation in the sport, is were your at now! There’s prestigious, financially lucrative, higher achieving roles out there. Think of what’s available, and think about were the greats went after!! George Foreman made grills!! Sugar Ray fought cage fighters, Henry Cooper wore Brute and advertised it (With Kevin Keegan incidentally) Ali, oozed respect. Left a formidable legacy. He had strong political opinions, made his voice resonate throughout the world. Just in case your wondering if that’s possible, well it’s not been for me and if those bookies you spoke about were banging money on who had a better chance right now, it would be me that was the underdog. Tony you have the ball now, run with it. It is a legacy , what exists after your death that is the highest possible achievement. What’s my definition of a legacy? Well you know your children? It’s what their children’s, children talk about as we approach new centruarys and it’s called making history. Good luck, as we speak I go through my own personal battles. But I’m trying to combat them.

With all due respect and congratulations to Bellew, Haye was a shot fighter before the first fight. Bellew's chance against Fury, and an outside one at that, would only come in potentially exploiting Fury's ring rust in his first or second comeback fight. After that Bellew would just be deluding himself, and more importantly, it would not be worth Fury's time. Bellew is understandably looking for the biggest pay days he can get from the fighters with big names who he sees as currently being vulnerable... Ward because he has been retired and inactive for some time... and Fury because of his inactivity. Bellew is a savvy businessman. Reminds me a little of Shannon Briggs in the way he tries to manufacture fights. Kudos to him.

Samorry Touray He wants to fight andre ward because he finds a weakness or decline .. knows hes retired (doesnt know how much ward wants it) Hes not trying to hide that fact either ..which is good from a money point of view ..but hes only building a legacy of beating boxers whos been away ( ring rust washed up) or injured ..I'd personally piss myself IF big IF fury wipes him out by devasting KO..

Angelica Rope yeah whats the point in him calling out young hungry heavyweights and cruiserweights with no name. He's been a world champion and now at 35 he's over the hill and ready to retire, and will only fight for big paydays against big names. Theres nothing wrong with that. Andre Ward is one of the best boxers over the last 10-20 years who has just fought last year and is still quite young, younger than Bellew. Tyson Fury has just been a wprld champion beating a still in prime Klitshko. The two guys hes calling out are by no means washed up fighters

Jonny Armstrong I never ever said that "it was a mismatch". I knew from the beginning that it will be a repeat, even from the pre-fight workout I could tell, Tony looked way sharper and faster than Haye. David Haye is not the same fighter he once was, and his body has never and will never fully recovered from all the injuries. But everybody knows that a prime Haye would demolish Bellew within 2-3 rounds. I give Bellew credit for stepping in the ring and beating a wounded yet still dangerous animal, but I'm not impressed and I don't think this fight will be remembered tbh.
@BigBoss-sq5rv
@BigBoss-sq5rv 6 жыл бұрын
Jonny Armstrong It definitely would have been a mismatch if it was a David Haye who was still on top of his boxing. The David Haye we thought was fighting was the one that fought Klitschko, the one that fought Chisora, we don't know David Haye's state until he gets in the ring. All you Bellew fans are getting a boner because he beat an old, broken Haye.

I won’t go as far as making a prediction myself however, it still amazes me just how underrated Tony Bellew is. Everyone keeps writing him off in a fight vs Fury but exactly the same thing happened before his fights with Haye. Tony might not be the best fighter for speed or power or size but he makes up for it by having a very good boxing brain. He said in another interview that he would fight Fury now after his long break but wouldn’t fight a fit Fury that has already dusted off the cobwebs. Tony also said before fighting Haye that boxing isn’t a sport that you can take two years off from and just come straight back to. Which shows in the two performances from Haye. Again, I won’t make a prediction myself but I really do feel that people write bellew off way too soon.

Tony, you have nothing more to prove, you are a great fighter and a great champion, unless you need more money, walk away son!

I like Tony and Tyson but the only way Tony could even have the slightest chance to beating Mr Fury is if it was Tyson first bout back since his break🥊 as his opponent will show when he does get back in the ring he a bit rusty so will need a few bouts to get his sharpness back which then as we've all seen before he is very mobile and quick it would be a good payday and event but not in my opinion a very relevant one in the grand scheme of things

Yep and in the post-fight press conference, he said he would beat Joseph Parker all day. This guy is delusional.
