My situation has always baffled me and I’m yet to find an answer. I agree with the Bible whole heartedly in every aspect. I’ve had homosexual desires ever since I could remember. Never in my life have I felt like it was a choice of my doing. I would honestly change these desire in a heartbeat if I could because I would love to have a normal life with a wife and children. I’ve never cared to live a homosexual lifestyle or cared to come out because I’m honestly deeply ashamed of those desires. I despise seeing flamboyant individuals trying to shove their agenda to the public. I came to Christ 10 yrs ago and I honestly thought that these desires would go away as I had heard of people who have went on to live a heterosexual lifestyle after they claimed to have been delivered. Well, that’s not been my case and I continue to struggle with this desire. All I can honestly do is abide in Christ and cling on to his word and promises pertaining to the forgiveness of our sins and continue to persevere in sanctification. Maybe one day when I’m with him it will be revealed to me why I was burdened with this. For now all I can do is continue to trust and abide in his word. I know many of you will disagree with my viewpoint as I will most likely disagree with yours.

It is not a desire it is a way of being. Straight people are attracted to the opposite sex, gay people are attracted to same sex and to do the opposite is repulsive for gay or straight. Gays are hard wired in their attraction just like straight people. There is a fundamental difference. It is not a choice.

All I can say is, after having spent a lifetime struggling with gay desires and being celibate, make no mistake - it sucks. I struggle every day of my life with what I can only describe as complete soul crushing loneliness and depression, and have continually struggled with alcohol abuse, and extreme self loathing as a result of my loneliness. I've spent every night of the many decades of my life alone (I realized I was gay at 16) wishing for a partner to sleep next to or for these desires to go away. I want nothing more than to be with a man in a loving relationship, though I know wanting this is a terrible thing and sometimes I hate myself for wanting this so badly even though it's against God's design. Somehow I've persevered through this life, though it has been far from fun. I've always found it difficult to make friends in general and though I try to bond with members of the same sex in a non sexual way, I will inevitably develop a crush on a guy, and be unable to be around him without sinful desires entering my head. Sometimes I pray for the day when I will be with God and these disgusting desires will leave me.

As a bisexual man and a Christian, I whole heartedly believe he says it really well, while I don't choose to be attracted to the same sex, you can choose how you act on it, I understand theres a lot of controversy even regarding that and saying that well you should be able to do it regardless and of course you can choose to, but that's a discussion that doesn't have a definitive answer as it varies if you are religious or not. What people struggle most to understand is that gay people are very normal. They are literally just regular people that only find attraction in the same gender. Where is the issue? God help me. I am Christian and live in a progressive part of England where LGBTQIA+ is celebrated and I will always love those who identify as part of that community. To those discussing this subject, I’d like to say, there are many things that are consistently mistranslated, be it intentional or otherwise. 1. The use of plural pronouns with reference to God. Many who read the English translations assume that passages like “in our image we made them,” justify a belief that God was speaking to angels or even Jesus before he was incarnate. This, however, is incorrect, as the original texts written in Hebrew utilize a plural nominative case reserved for those in positions of power. So God is merely talking about himself in the plural. This mistranslation (or rather, translation with modern English speakers not understanding the context of plurals as a form of reverence toward a king or ruler) is perpetuated throughout the Old Testament. 2. The reference to man laying with another man found in Leviticus 18. Levitican law was created during this time and served to help the Jews maintain their cultural identity despite collocation with Canaanites and Egyptians. At the time, a fertility goddess was revered by the pagans, and in order to sow good crops, they would enter the temple and have sex with the males in the temple. The Levitican law discussing men laying with other men most likely references this practice. In other words, the practice of revering this fertility goddess was the issue. The story in which God splits Eve from Adam is quite interesting because in the original text, the sex of Adam is never discussed UNTIL the split of Adam and Eve from the same body. Adam, itself, is a pun from the Hebrew “adamah,” or ground. So the first “being” was called “groundling” in a way. When Eve was pulled from this “Adam,” the original text uses the word “tsela,” which translates twelve more times in the Bible as “side” or “mountainside.” Only in THIS context has it been translated as rib. Who did this you ask? It was first mistranslated like this in the Septuagint. Modern translators know this is an error, but we continue doing it. Now. Look, I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and I still pray to Jehovah but I haven't been in the religion since age 14. I am now 64. I believe in morals and decency and being kind and help with to whomever I meet I also believe that Jehovah is a loving God that I pray to every morning and every night. I'm a preschool teacher and I see children that are 3 years old and are gay! He likes to play with the dolls and try on the princess dresses. She likes to play with the trucks, Legos and blocks. When I've tried on occasion to encourage them to play with the toys of "gender" they have no interest and of course I don't push it. He's meticulous about his clothing and shoes and doesn't want to get dirty in the schoolyard. Cheese only likes to wear pants and she's playing football with the boys. He loves play kitchen and cooking . She loves to build the train tracks with the boys. He whines and whines and cries when he falls down he's very sentimental. She falls down , pops right up and kick somebody's butt for pushing her. These children know nothing about SEX, SIN or in or immorality at 3. All they know is what they like and what they don't like. They learn the gender roles we assign to them because Mommy and Daddy tell them but when we have free play in the classroom, they are simply gravitating to attracts them. These children are born this way! It's not a choice. Now having said that, there may be some people that choose to be gay when they get older to fit in a group or attract attention but I truly do not believe that is ALWAYS a choice. All I know is I was born gay. Just like a straight people are born straight. Straight people don't have a when it hits them and they say I'm straight I like the opposite sex. First of all this guys a hero. How can anyone misinterpret Romans 1, or sexual immorality, or Paul? The Devil has forced this idea of gayness being a whole lifestyle and identity, and not just an act or a desire. It's incredible. In Romans 1 Paul says that's a sign society has flipped God the bird, purposefully forgotten about him and are in a state where God allows the society to progressively become dumber and very dark and demonic. Secondly, as he said there is no gay gene though there may be genetic factors that make one more susceptible to those desires or the influence of the outside world pushing that agenda. It is my belief that sexual attraction lies in the brain, that it is affected by upbringing and environment heavily. Biologically we are 100% born straight, literally human bodies are born designed for the opposite sex, penis's are born designed for vaginas and vice versa. Psychologically however people can become attracted to anything, ANYTHING, and we know this. Same sex, Animals, death, cartoons, children, pain, even human waste. There are a ton of sins in the Bible, sins meaning missing God's intended purpose, design and point for our lives, well being and the reasons he created us. Homosexuality is merely one of them, but in this day and age this sin is forced on people as healthy and a must. Of course people struggle extra hard with this sin psychologically because they've been lied to and told they're born that way. That's way different than thinking it's a desire that formed out of their psychology NOT their biology. A BUNCH of Christians struggle with unholy desires that they DIDNT ask for. Anger, homosexuality, wild heterosexual lust, selfishness, alcoholism, violence, tempers, lying, envy, cowardice, etc etc etc....ALL these things, Paul says, will DISINHERIT you from the Kingdom if you never repent of them. Not every Christian gets their specific unholy desires wiped clean when they convert, they can, but it's not everybody! Paul himself in Corinthians says he has to train his mind and body daily to ensure he doesn't lose out on salvation himself despite preaching it. Secondly, if you are praying for the desire to go away or for control over it, KEEP PRAYING. KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPENED, SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND, ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU. It's not what some of us want to hear, but God will answer those prayers seemingly slower for some, for some it will take much more seeking and knocking. It depends on his will and your faith what he will give to you ultimately, but Jesus gives us a good promise and hope when we truly seek in BELIEF that God hears, answers and is MIGHTY. The Internet and woke culture has become so toxic, in the guise of kindness and acceptance they actually make it SO much harder for people with psychological homosexual desires to repent or repent without feeling worthless. It's sickening! It's our eternal LIVES at stake, it's not a game or a joke. Jesus died for us, got tortured. I would imagine he must feel that if he could go through that, that he may be a bit strict when he judges and not take excuses. So if I can except a person being born without limbs why should I struggle ( other than my personal distaste) with these who are born with same sex attraction? I disagree with the notion that God created them that way because as I stated we're all products of procreation. No sexual activity no kids. Further no one ever coached me up on my attraction to women , I was 5 when them little fannies excited me and at 63 their jiggle still illicits a giggle. But I gotta kerp my passions in check and live it out in a Christlike manner. The first tenet of discipleship is self denial. Which means denying any aspect of life that's against Gods precepts. Oh its not easy but its necessary. Gay people who will live Godly will struggle but I can't categorize their struggle as more gross than mine. I pray we all get in the ship headed towards home.

Your faith in Jesus Christ is what saves you, yes. But sin is still sin saved or not. Sexual immorality is a sin. Any sexual acts outside of one man and one woman bonded in marriage is a sin. We all have sin of different nature, and can be saved by faith. We will never be parted from our sin until die. we shouldn’t lie to ourselves and say that sin is no longer sin because Jesus died for it. Sin is still sin and Jesus’s pardon is ever flowing for those who repent and believe. Look up 1 Corinthians 9 and Romans 8
