Imagine if somehow, in that mission, we’re with Caiatl and Crow, but then Calus calls out, surrounding us with Nightmares and taunting Caiatl to try to rejoin him, striking at her regret with Ghaul and losing their home planet, actually managing to hit her where it hurts. Then, as Caiatl keeps resisting, she hears the Ghaul Nightmare in her head, urging her on to fight back. And then, she actually tears away the covering on her face, as it’s now hurting her, suffocating her from the Pyramid’s power. And when that happens…Ghaul emerges from her and reveals the Solar blade he had, blowing away the Nightmares and starting a new fight with Crow and Caiatl with us.

I think that's why Eris is a bit kinder to him than the more rough exterior she shows everyone else. She's been in his shoes somewhat, being pushed away, forced to essentially go it alone in life, especially after what happened to her and her fireteam on the moon and the transformation she went through. She didn't have anybody, only being talked to for her expertise in the hive, and here she sees a guardian that is being punished for his past life, and not as the guardian he is now. She relates and against her perceived character, she tries to show more genuine care.

@@victuz Tbh the nightmare we faced aren't rly "personal"? Except for our doppelganger darkness boi who was saying about salvation and shit But other than that we didn't rly have nightmares that specifically target our emotional bond or whatnot. They're just gods/ bosses we killed previously
