Jewish is both a race and a religion. Not all Jews practice the Jewish faith of Judaism. Some have no faith or practice other faiths. Some practice the Jewish faith of Messianic Jew, which is a Jewish Christian, after all Christianity was born of a Jew.

You guys are 100% correct Jews are a race/ethnicity as well as a religion. So technically a racially/ethnically Jewish person can decide to be an atheist or Christian or Muslim etc. on the other hand it is possible although quite rare for someone who is not racially/ethnically Jewish to convert and practice Judaism. Ppl get confused because this is the only example of something being both a race/ethnicity and religion and it’s such small number of the population worldwide. Lastly Jews as a race/ethnicity came first before the religion came to be with the giving of the 10 commandments and Torah on Mt Sinai etc.

Jews, according to the Talmud, (important religious texts), must have a Jewish mother, OR convert. Judaism, (the religion), is a set of beliefs and traditions of the Jewish people. The Jewish people (ethnic group) are a tribe who originate in the Levant.

Just wanna clear up the confusion around Jewish as a race vs Jewish as a religion. Not every religious Jew is ethnically Jewish. When we talk about someone who is of the Jewish race, we are referring to people who descend ultimately from the bilbical days of the "Holy Lands". Most of these groups would be spread around Europe due to immense tensions in the Middle East, in a large part, due to the rising strength of Islamic lead nations. They would settle around the Rhine river in Germany, and elsewhere in Europe. This group of people are known as Ashkenazi Jewish. They are ethnically Jewish and are indeed a race in their own right, though heavily admixed in the modern era because people mix as time moves forward. Jewish as a religion is typically open to any race who wishes to convert. The Jewish religion is the religion of ALL Jewish people, whether they can trace their ancestry to the Ashkenazi or even Israelite tribes that have been documented since prior to Roman Occupation of the "Holy Lands". So yeah, I get why it can be confusing. Because we use the same word for the faith as we do the race that originally warshipped the faith. Then you get into the ethnical Jewish people who converted to Christianity or other religions. But I hope this helped a little. Digging the open-minded approach to these topics. Just always know you never have to lean all the way one way or the other. The middle is where you can cut through a lot of the bullshit and where I believe most people's heart lies. Moderation, not extremism. Being Anti-Authoritarian is the most American stance you can take. Question your leadership. Question those who want power. Seek actual knowledge with fact and observation, and do not take other's words for it. (That being said, you can feel free to google the subject I spoke about earlier to verify or discount what I have said, as I am not a Historian but a simple nerd who loves to study genetic haplogroups and Historical impacts on the thousands of them that we don't even know about YET. Though at the end of the day we know none of this matters in practicality. We are all human beings and should seek independant thought)

Time btw, is literally faster as an adult. Time is actually slower for children. Your childhood will feel as long as the rest of your life in comparison. Time is an odd thing. People imagine it's static, but it's not remotely static. It bends, and even turns around on itself. If you were born in space, you'd age slower. If you weren't around any planets, slower still. And if you went between two black holes, you could actually end up in a place and time that's BEFORE you started going in. Time is strange.

However, if you are a Jew that doesn’t believe in Judaism then you are still part of the Jewish race. Israel itself was created as a secular nation for this reason. Religion can upset a lot of people, but I see it as if you know that God the Father sent His only Son to die for sins, and I accept that Jesus is the One and Only True Son of God the Father, that He died for my sins, and asked Him to come into my heart as I made Him Lord of my life.
