But how many men actually do that, especially when their wife stays home? I think it’s great if it’s like but what about women men don’t go for? What happens if the guy decides to cheat or leave, then she has no options. Women working comes partly from women who have experience this and were left with nothing. I have worked with many women who thought they were going to be married forever and did the whole stay at home, took care of her husband and kids, only to have it blow up because he found someone else. This is exactly why people need to go back to dating and not jumping into relationships, finding out what they really feel and taking the time to seeing it by the way each other acts. It seems people jump right in to sleeping together, moving in together, having kids, getting married and THEN finding out who the other person is. Women’s lib in the beginning was about being able to choose what YOU want, work or traditional roles, and equal rights if you worked outside the home but it has been hijacked to anti-male crap. It’s important for men to be like this guy said but it’s way harder to find a guys like that, even more so today. A lot of the time, this was especially true in the past, they get the “I’m in charge” attitude without the gratitude or respect for their wife. Being raised Catholic, I’ve heard what priests told wives in the past, basically you need to accept even if your husband is abusive etc. so it goes back to really taking the time to know who you are marrying BEFORE you do. I don’t know many women who wouldn’t want a husband who treats her like this guy says he treats his wife and who wouldn’t be happy. You guys give me hope for families of the future.

@@francesostrowski2374 with all due respect, I didn't hesitate to take all the responsibility when I was asked by my wife if it was ok if she stopped working to be with our children. If you have seen nothing but selfish and shitty men, that's a reflection on you... not us. Women need to stop thinking about how they can get men to give them an easy life... and spend more time putting effort into the equality they claim to deserve.

I am a gen z woman. I am the poster child for feminist. I have a great career, a degree in investment finance, a house, a car etc. I was sold a lie by these feminists. I was told this was the goal, this is secret to being happy. Now that I have everything I’ve ever wanted I sit here, with a yearning soul that craves for something deeper and fulfilling. The deeper meaning of life isn’t about the material. But about the void in your heart. That void that money can’t buy. I am excited and patiently await to be a mother and a wife. Something that no degree/ career or promotion will ever grant me. A happiness that satisfies the soul, not the ego. He is absolutely right in his speech. He never bashed women. He just emphasized the importance of family which is a beautiful thing.

I pray that you God brings you the perfect husband and that you have beautiful healthy children. I unfortunately married a man who did not want children and so I let go of wanting one. After he passed away from Cancer, I was still young enough to have children, but I became permanently disabled from a severe chronic pain syndrome and the second man I met was not father material either. Now at 55,…I’m still sick…I can’t work anymore..I’m completely alone..and fear I always will be. I was also sold the lies and I made some bad decisions. 💔❤️ I’m really happy that your heart is open..your happiness will come.

I'm an almost 40 year old single woman with no kids. I turned away from Jesus in my 20's and accepted the liberal lies and lived my life like a hedonistic heathen, drugs and all. Let me tell you, I not only felt empty but the pleasure was incredibly short lived, you can't even imagine it. That emptiness is Hell, literally. The feeling of being detached from God I cannot describe in words to anyone who hasn't felt it themselves. I see all the young and confused kids protesting today and I know EXACTLY what it feels like to be one of them. They are so wrong but they cannot understand it. God is REAL and Jesus is the ONLY way! Satan is real, evil exists and the feeling of being detached from God, our Father and Creator, is what it feels like to be in Hell. God doesn't detach from us, we detach ourselves from HIM. He DOES accept us back but we must turn from our wicked ways. Please, pray for the ones who are still confused and lost.

Maybe the problem with this country isn't it's distance from God, but because leadership is corrupt and America lives in a toxic bowl of classicism and racism. Parents are acting like children and leaders are acting like school bullies. We are far from the days where grown ups knew how to be grown ups. Maybe that's not anti-belief in God, but no clear representation of goodness, and responsibility.

I just want to state that attending church and being good parents are not mutually exclusive. Also, when the children were young I worked part time but had time for myself, and equal access to our money. We shared all responsibilities. I am so proud of him, and applaud him! God is glorified in his speech. The anger from the left is that of Satan. @shawnchamberlain7543 women with degrees can decide to stay home and raise families, but who is he to say that they shouldn't have gotten the degrees, shouldn't have been educated and should have automatically chosen to stay at home and rear children Instead of going to college. Everyone has a choice, they can't choose to not get degrees and just stay home and rear children, they can choose to get degrees and work and they can also choose to get degrees and also stay home. But to speak at a graduation where the women chose the option of getting degrees and then telling them that their purpose is in the house is pretty much tone deaf and very dismissive and somewhat controlling. Could have had that speech any other time but the graduation of the women that chose degrees.

@kimmyB9203 15 күн бұрын
@@OAlexable He's not saying they shouldn't have gotten degrees. He's not saying they shouldn't work or even have careers. He's saying that the most important title they will ever have in their life will be being a wife and a mother. My mother was a nurse before marrying my dad. When she had my oldest brother, she chose to stay home and raise her children and made a wonderful life for all of us. My father worked and provided. My mother renewed her nursing license when I was in my teens and went back to work by her choice. My father started a company with our neighbor and had a flexible schedule, so when my mother went back to work, he took over almost all of the household chores so my mother didn't have to work and take care of the house. Both of my parents were very involved in our lives and I've always been grateful for them showing me how a husband and wife built eachother up, backed eachother up and loved eachother. He never said getting a college degree was a waste. He never said to not use your degree. He said to know the most important title, you will ever have, will be wife and mother. There is nothing to hate on. He's at a Catholic college. Anyone attending a Catholic college is very much about living a traditional family focused life. If it offends you, no one cares. He didn't offend the female graduates there.

As for the deacons, respect them as the Law of God. Let no one do anything with reference to the Church without the bishop. Only that Eucharist may be regarded as legitimate which is celebrated with the bishop or his delegate presiding. No, he is very positive. But let's be real. Feminism began in a time (70s) when it was needed in the home and workplace, when men treated women as an "object" (you'd be surprised how much). It was for homemakers who were being abused at the hands of their husbands with nowhere to turn. So many programs were developed to help women and children change their lives. It's a misconception given to feminism of degrading men and homemakers. Not many women had the opportunity to have a loving environment, they have to make it for themselves. Its an idealistic speech, but keep in mind the reality women are faced with - sexual harrassment, rape, trafficking, suppression still at the hands of this society and unfortunately, men, who should be leaders if that is the ideal.

Those years belong to those women graduates who had earned the right over four long years of hard study to imagine their own lives. Some will have babies, Some will marry Catholic men, but that graduation was no place to encroach on their dreams with that message.

I was there attending the graduation of a young adult relative.......this was a beautiful speech totally in line with the Catholic identity of this college. Mr Butker was INVITED by Benedictine College. It is a deeply Catholic school that loves our Lord deeply and with great respect. For those complaining about this situation, this is our Catholic faith of God's Plan for Salvation, so that our souls can get into Heaven. Man and Woman, united to procreate and give Glory to He who died for our sins so that we CAN get into Heaven. When we die and stand before God on our Judgement Day, He isnt going to ask us about our top salary, any human accolades, our financial portfolios, etc. He will want to know how we loved one another, how we saw Jesus in the faces of those who needed help, how we followed His Commandments. Peace to all my God loving, God fearing brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray for people like Butker who are knowingly risking everything to proclaim His Word.

I am a Catholic woman in my 60's and I applaud this young man. He didn't say you HAD to only be a homemaker, he simply acknowledged the importance of being a wife and mother and asked the graduating women to understand the dignity of it and not to hesitate to embrace it. The Catholic faith does NOT keep a woman from having a career, but it does consider homemaking to be a noble vocation. Society always made me feel like I should be ashamed that I "only" desired to be a good wife and mother. I got my degree and worked, but I was truly fulfilled when I married and stayed home to raise my children. My husband respected the work I did in raising the future generation. The people upset with this speech are the same ones who chant "inclusiveness" but only want to include those who agree with them. In my opinion, men and women have different roles and different gifts. One isn't better than the other, but rather complement each other. Regarding Biden I will say that he is not really Catholic. He may have been raised in the faith, but he does not practice the faith and teachings of the church. You either follow the teachings or you don't. It would be like picking up taking the Bible and tearing out the pages that have stuff you don't agree with and then still trying to call what's left the Bible. Once you remove parts and teachings then it is not the Bible anymore.

67 year old woman here. I met my husband in 1979, when I was 22 years old. We were having so much fun together. I was definitely on a career track and was unsure about having children. We got married around our 5th anniversary of meeting. Five years after that I started to feel the sparkle of my career life wane. After 13 years together I gave birth to twin girls. The joy and fulfillment I feel (32 years later) after having created our family far exceeds any gratification I got from my career. Don’t get me wrong, I liked my job and I always worked (mostly part time after the kids came along). I don’t think every woman or man is family material. I believe we all can make that choice for ourselves without scrutiny from others. But I also believe that you need to make that choice for yourself and not based on pressure from any other person or group. There is no doubt in my mind that today (I’m retired) I would feel empty and like I missed out on the most amazing opportunity of my life had I not changed my mind when I was 30 and created my beautiful family.

My kids are grown and I continue to work. As I look back, I have regrets, I regret that I was not there for all those precious times in my life as my children grew up becoming amazing adults. I was lucky to have their grandmothers help raise them. Today I see more young mothers stay at home and I have nothing but praise for them. The one constant in our lives has been our faith and always will be. Harrison Butker speaks wise words.

As a woman with two degrees, I actually agree with everything he said. The feminist's agenda has gone rogue over the last few decades and getting worse. To the point, that a stay at home Mom who values her children over the world is condemned. Being a married mother may not be for every woman and as such a career may fill in that gap for her and I say well done to that as well. However, should a woman decide to raise her children instead of a Daycare center doing it, should she decide to instill the morals and ethics in her children that will form their adult lives, instead of Daycare or even Public Schools (who have also gone rogue) then she is truly a super hero. Such a woman will effect the world by the children she raises, teaches, cares for and instills a moral compass into. I do not see how society can find fault with that. Women should be treated equally yes, but the lies we are being fed about who we should be, what we should look like or what clothing we wear or having an attitude of rudeness is an abomination to all women everywhere, whether they realize it or not.

I used to be that "independent boss female" who put work and money first and now I'm weeks away from quitting my job to become a stay-at-home mom because my husband works hard enough to allow it to be so. I have nothing but respect for my husband where I used to think men were not so important, and now God has blessed me with a house full of men and future men. The people calling him a misogynist are ignorant and likely either have kids and spouses themselves (hypocrites) or they're too young to know any better like I once was. I used to have that petty mindset and I wasn't always in line with God like I am now, the greatest decision I ever made was putting others first like God, my husband, and my boys. Don't let this world fool you young men and women, there is nothing wrong with allowing yourself and your career to not be the most important thing in your orbit. The NFL is basically telling their players/athletes, "we own you". Their time is not their own. If they do anything that society frowns upon it looks bad on the franchise , in the nfl's eyes. The athletes don't need to be wearing a team uniform for them to be representing the team in the owners mindset.

As a woman that raised 4 children and now has a successful career. The greatest joy of my entire life was being a home maker, and raising my children. Now I am a grandmother. I do everything I can to encourage my daughter-in-love to understand how she has the most important job in the world...shaping the minds and character of her children for the future. There is NO higher calling. I raised my son to realize the value and worth of a good woman who places her priorities on making her home, a secure sanctuary, a place a refuge, retreat, and blessings for her husband and their children. No child benefits from a burned out mom, chasing a career. My adult children, my children-in-love, and grandchildren call me Mama Bear. The greatest title I've ever had...and I've been a CEO. Proud of you boys!! Keep speaking truth!! ❤

I read your post with longing. This is the type of Mother I wanted to be and to grow up with. A great Mother is a blessing, but most American women HAVE to work and sometimes more than one job. A woman's security nowadays rests squarely on her own shoulders. A woman must be educated, and fulfill herself in some way to give that much to a family with a happy heart. That graduation where a woman should take a moment to think of herself as only herself. To dream of all the possibilities that lie in her future was not the place for a man to tell her to find a husband and get married and have a bunch of children. A thing she may decide to do anyway. But, that was a time for those women to imagine their greatest possibilities. It wasn't right for him, no matter how agreeable his Message was, to rain, or fart his opinion, on those women's day.

@@darkflyonwall - Just as a reminder, that speech is very correct to give to young Catholic men and ladies at a Catholic University. If boys were raised right by a present and loving mother and a husband who loves and supports his wife in raising their children to be a good children of God thereby a productive addition to society, society today would be a different ballgame. I really don't have to tell you this. Just keep watching the news to see I'm right. Children are growing up lacking morals and values because their moms weren't around in their homes while growing up to teach and guide them. Sadly, these same kids have children without any knowledge on how to be good parents. Big, bad cycle this country is experiencing. If you are a God fearing person, you'll understand what I'm trying to explain. Women who are busy being a superwoman at the end of the day if they have kids, their strength, motherly love and patience get zapped before they even enter their homes. What's left for their kids? Have time to make supper even?

I had an abusive mother and as a result, a traumatic childhood. The most important thing for me was to become a great wife and a great mother. I became a great mother because my mother wasn’t and broke the cycle of abuse I was born into. While it’s not for everyone, it was the best thing I ever did. ♥️

My ex had a very dysfunctional mother and lived a hard life due to it. I thought she would have the same attitude as you but she failed and paid a heavy price for it. She ended up behaving much like her mother. She tore our family apart and we all (me, her and the kids) suffered because of it. Don't get me wrong, the same goes for those men out there who grew up in a dysfunctional family. If your significant other is unable to be strong enough to change, it just won't work. Be grateful you had the right attitude to change.

Ever wonder why the Protestant reformation exploded, at the very same time the printing press came into existence. For the first time, people were able to read the actual words of Christ, not cherry picked verses to support a papal system ( which Jesus never set up). He didn’t crown Simon Peter the first pope but told all his followers to go and make disciples of all the world. So the Bible has no mention of prayers to Mary, or praying the dead into heaven, or lavish Cathedrals built off the backs of the illiterate poor. The choice to follow Christ is made while you’re alive, hence Jesus telling Nicodemus that a man should be born again. I’m glad Catholics believe in the divinity of Christ and that he is our Rock, not a pastor or a pope like many choose to elevate. Prayers for all who truly seek Christ, and stand up to the World elites pushing the one world govt., religion, and economy, predicted in the book of Revelation!

He doesn’t want women to be anything other than mothers. Is being a parent and having a career mutually exclusive? It isn’t the case for men so why can’t women be excellent ambitious women and raise wonderful kids that fulfill them. It’s the ability to choose that he doesn’t want for women that hurt everyone. May god be with u and may you honour all of gods children by letting them choose who they want to be and explore themselves on a path of self discovery

I always thought my Mom was crazy because she had a career and was very successful when she married my Dad...she quit her job and became a..Domestic Godess..when she recently passed she spoke of how much she loved her life and mentioned not one time a single regret...just saying Demonizing Mom's and housewives was a huge mistake by society...Mom is the greatest thing I have ever done..it is my life and what I am most proud of...

I get to attend all my son’s school parties, field trips, etc. I didn’t miss his first step, his first word, I was there by his side through everthing while he was a baby/toddler.
