Last week we asked if Disneyland was back. This week we got something of an answer as the crowds felt like they crept forward again toward a classically busy status. This week we found higher than usual wait times throughout the park, but also interestingly low ones. Smugglers Run continues to baffle me. I simply can't figure that ride out. We'll also talk a bit about the entertainment cancellations and why some Genie+ attractions sell out quickly while others do not at all.

42:45 I still have a (very faded) Fastpass ticket for Indiana Jones from 10 years ago in my wallet. My dad was out visiting and we ended up not going on the ride for whatever reason. I don't get to see him that often so I keep it as a reminder of the fun we had that day.

I was there on Tuesday 6/11-way too crowded to even walk comfortably. 6-7 rides down or closed in the 5 hours I was there. Checked out DCA and the crowds were even worse.

The park holds 80,000 people it's not even near capacity. shoulder to shoulder is closer to capacity what you see here, 😂 not so much.

Preach it David! I feel like as costs go up for guests, the quality and entertainment options continue to go down. I love Disney but I’m also a realist and can see changes that are not ok.

The trouble in viewing the Disney Company financials is that they have a large group of affiliates. That can complicate matters.when looking to see basic revenue and costs. Affiliates can become a hall of mirrors sometimes.

My sisters and I were there this past Saturday. We were walking past Thunder Mountain and saw standby 5 minutes. We jumped in the line. Actually took about 10 minutes. After we got off the ride, the standby lane was up to 65 minutes. We felt so lucky.

I've had that happen to me on rides that were temporarily shut down and I managed to be in the right place at the right time when they reopened.

I think those of us that come from far away , use our genie and or lightening lane to the max . If you only have a few days to fit everything in , it helps . Although we did fine when it was fast pass . It was a good challenge.

I had such a badd time last august (23-34) bc of the crowds and rides breaking down and everything was 100 mins. And i came all the way from the uk and spent thousands to just sit in some shade

I do not miss the paper Fastpass! Living out of state and not being a frequent visitor - it was a time suck having to run around to get the pass needed. I happily pay for Genie+. Different people with different needs. It works for some and others can get by without it. Thanks for all your efforts, enjoy watching!

"Ready to pop for the Summer" translates to avoid at all costs. Come back in the fall when crowds are smaller. Who wants to spend 60 to 90 minutes in a queue? Plus HM and TBA wont be open until at least October / November.

They close at 6 during the fall. If u want to really take it in summer is that time but these prices and this reservation system make them unnecessary

Hamburger/Cheesebugers have been mostly not good at DL in my experience, and theme parks in general. In N Out exists, so I just get the many other food options at the Park.

Hi David. We saw you as we were walking into Rise. We walked into a 95 minute wait, but it, thankfully, only took us 45 minutes to get the the Ray scene.

There needs to be fans blowing on you during the Jungle Cruise queue. The air is so stale and hot, it's awful. Also, the queues at Fantasy Land are brutal during the hot weather due to there being no fans blowing on you.

That "diabolical" approach to throttling the Magic Keys until Disney sold as many single day tickets as they could is exactly the reason why I won't buy a Magic Key. It sucks the fun out of going to Disneyland. And, yes, I tell others about why I won't buy a Magic Key. I want to experience what it was like to own an Annual Pass and simply show up whenever I want. The reservation system sucks.

Dave when they removed river space for attractions they broke a rule. When the park was originally built the had extensive water parks to capture run off rain water. So we go through a storm season and they lost capacity to store runoff. If you cant store it it goes into sewer lines increasing pressure. The lake boundary was their by design under Walt.

@@FreshBakedDisney I agree the reservation system needs to go...........I miss the days you can go to Disneyland any day you want no reservations at all......that system I see makes it harder for those who work for a living. or even if they have vacation times...just messes it up if they can not go to Disneyland when on Vacations..because of that System......

I can see a value in _a_ reservation system. The cost of tickets and travel creates a need for guests to guarantee an entry, but the current system is set up to satisfy corporate executives desire to manipulate people at the expense of the guest experience. At the very least, "capacity" needs to be merged into a combined pool day-of and the entrance gates need to allow multi-day tickets with unused and unreserved days left and unblocked passholders to auto-consume reservations at the gate when there is still capacity left. At that point, the only difference from the pre-covid days the guest would see would be that the reservation schedule would be the warning of whether or not a park was closed to new entries or not and guests would have the option of guaranteeing an entry. Add a no-show fee of 25%+ of the daily ticket price with a 6+ hour before opening window to discourage reservation camping and it should serve the guests better.

I miss the old way.. for Example if I took 2 weeks off for vacation from work.......I could go to Disneyland the first day of my time off have fun and enjoy the park....but I did not have reserve that day before it arrived........no matter what day I went i didn't have to reserve it before hand. I just went paid for my ticket and enjoyed my time there... I'm not sure when they started this reservation system but my guess is after 2007......when I moved from Calif to Colorado.....at that time I went to Disneyland and they did not have that reservation system yet. I'm not sure why they started that system.

I’m so disappointed in the no-show state of Golden Horseshoe. It was such a classic staple of every trip and quintessential Disney. It was those touches that made Disney so different from other parks. Hopefully its temporary.

By the looks of the Disneyland app, the busy crowds have arrived… as of Wednesday at 1pm. I am still sad about the Golden Horseshoe. Would anyone believe me when I say that was my first memory of my childhood DL visits? They had yellow lunch boxes with chicken strips and French fires. I recall being so amazed that there was a place you could eat and watch a show. Felt like something different than the mall food court at home. Now it is just well-themed space to grab a bite. It are those little things in the park that surveys can’t pickup on. I would still fall in love with Disneyland without, but funny the things we remember.

For the first time in my life in 2019 I was able to buy an annual pass. I live in Portland oregon. I went I believe 6 times in 2019 and just before the covid shutdown. I had the max pass added on to my pass. I am so glad I got to experience not only the annual pass but the best Fastpass experience ever created by Disney in the form of the max pass. The add-on to the annual pass I think was 100 extra dollars for the entire year. Absolutely beautiful and wonderful

We went last week and it was no fun at all. I had such bad anxiety knowing every bathroom had a line up.. no free tables to sit and huge crowds everywhere. It was awful.. and I so regret going and taking our kids for the first time. The ride wait times weren’t ridiculous but just the sheer number of people.. made it so that you couldn’t even look around or enjoy anything. Just thousands of people every which way. That combined with the price gouging just made it a bad trip and we won’t be back for years. The fantasmic package is such a joke.. they advertise surf and turf at the blue bayou but they don’t have it and if you want beef, they charge $10 over and above the $89 and the. Charge you for bread, and for the little glow cube that they used to put in drinks for free before fantasmic closed. They wanted us to pay $350 US for a meal that was disgusting! I was so so disappointed. We opted not to do it and thank goodness since Fantasmic ended up being cancelled yet again! I’m sure they give no sort of refund when that happens! That’s crazy. Shame on Disney for letting everything go downhill. That blue bayou food was awful.

Disneyland is doing remodels that includes the insertion of new sewage pipes, colored green. We do not know how damaging the rains were. Disneyland sends runoff water to the many lakes they have ...but if they can no longer accommodate the approved process is to pass the water through the sewage lines to be treated away from park.

Oh I feel extremely bad about your experience. My family and I quit going 7 years ago after attending some 30 years. What happened should never had happened. So step one , compose a letter with all details and send it to the office of the president. Most major companies have State in the letter that you are expecting some form renumeration Close your letter with an expectation of return notice. Now forward the same letter to the city of Anaheim. Write your concerns about the Lack of restroom facilities set by law. Then be strong amazing things can happen.

Universal studios is where my family and I are at after 9 years with the annual pass. It’s no longer a good value, the crowds are insane and the food is mediocre. It seems Disneyland is doing just enough to get by, and what u don’t seem to understand is the pricing on adult tickets. Your charging same price for 1/3 of the park being closed off due to renovations??? The rides that are on seem to be breaking down more and more and it’s not even summer time!

I went to Disney in June for both florida and California and I much prefer the weather condition in California since it is not that hot or humid. Much more pleasant in California and you actually need a hoodie or sweatshirt early morning or late at night.

Was there Monday the 10th not bad at all longest wait was 50 minutes at Rise. E rushing else 40 minutes or less. Walked onto jungle cruise , Thunder Mtn. All 3 attractions in too town. Before noon. Also rode 4 attractions in Fantasy land in that time. Tuesday was wY different did get space mtn and star tours in before 8:30 am. The rest of Tuesday was busy but not as bad as it usually is when schools start getting out. Also had no problem finding a table at red rose tavern at lunch time both days. And the weather was perfect both days not as hot as it will be in another few weeks. Thanks for the videos Dave. Did say Hi to you on Monday.

We were there June 10 week. Skipped the day you were there because it was Grad Night. For as long as lines appeared we got on most things. That Pirate line was brutal in the sun. We didnt see it stretch like that rest of trip. I was trying to figure out the LL. Posted times for SB would show like 40 mins but we would walk on. Did it 2x to Mickey Railway. Most rides we waited 20-25 mins except the big rides like space mountain. Seems like people use LL all day for big rides.Cant count on the app times or whats posted. LL definitely screwed up the parks though.

They don’t pretend a days blocked out it’s blocked for pass holders to free capacity because at the end of the day a pass holder not being able to go for a day hurts the guest and the park a lot less than someone from out of town can’t get a ticket after booking travel and accommodation.

Congratulations on the 200K mark! I was an annual pass holder from 2008 until they cut them off for COVID-19. I loved having the pass and going whenever the family and I wanted to. Slow Saturday morning and no serious plan? Let's hop in the car and go to the park. I lived in Pasadena, and it wasn't always an easy trip, but it was always worth it because it was just a happier place. If they offered a New Magic Key that removed the reservation requirement and blocked days like the old top tier, I would pay another $400 for it. It probably won't happen, but we can dream. It's funny to think that I paid $400/ea for my first passports.

Wednesday was insanely busy! Rise kept breaking down (as it does) and the sun was pretty cruel. But it was a fun surprise to see Fresh Baked walking through Adventureland at the end of the night!

I find myself perpetually looking forward to your most current State Of Disneyland my friend, well done. There is one caveat,, I understand time is money and at the end of the day you're in park to do a job, but, a part of me wished you would at least take time to enjoy one attraction. For example, when you discovered a 15 minute que for Falcon, a large part of my inner kid so wished you would've exploited that and ridden it.

If they continued to sell Magic Keys while they are selling the Southern California three-day ticket and the kids discount tickets, the discount tickets would then serve as advertising to sell Magic Keys. What's more, it's a type of advertising people pay for because they do get something in return - a visit to Disneyland. But those visits to Disneyland would then encourage people to buy the Magic Keys. And then they will be condemned to the pain of the reservation system. . . . 😜 But that's another story. . . .

As an out-of-Townes who gets a 4-day visit every-other year, we *have* to purchase Genie+. And there are SO many times we say---"Get the Lightning Lane, we paid for it!!!" So we use all of them we can possibly fit in a day, both parks. It's hard, but we paid for it! So yes, Small World, etc, we get on via Lightning Lane. 😕 I would gladly pay more for Max Pass to return.

On Magic Keys... they turn them off so that people cannot use their tickets to buy Magic Keys. They been advertising it for a bit: "Upgrade your ticket" Well if they stop sales you can't do that any more.

Went last Sunday without realizing it was a grad night. Only managed to get on two attractions cause the lines were long all day.

The past few times I have not relied on the tip board for wait times. In the last two visits, Space mountain was 75 on the app but we were in and out in 35 minutes and then for rise it said 60 and we were on the ride in 15 minutes. At this point, we just get in lines and if the line doesn't move within 5 minutes, we get out and find another ride. Disney lines have been so weird lately.

We were there the Sunday a couple of days before you. It seemed busier than I’ve ever seen, even 4th of july. First part of the day kind of pissed me off because there were many rides down. Our lightning lane almost made up for it later. Still missed a couple of rides I would have liked for my first time daughter.

I’m fine with them not bringing back analog fast pass, but I would be 100% on board for getting rid of Genie+ and going back to max Pass.

Max pass worked because there was also a free analog fast pass. Max pass was just the digital version of the free analog fast pass

@@FreshBakedDisney Sure, but there’s really. O reason it couldn’t be brought back with the same features. It was cheaper AND better than Genie+ as a paid option. Which is why it won’t come back. Hope to see you in the parks over the next few days. Love the channel!
