This was so helpful! I just finished my braid pattern and I’m ready to get to the crotchet install... I’m so excited 😆 I am finally learning how to do my own hair at 28 years old on top of 1 year natural relaxer free for the first time in my life. I did my crochet and they looked good on the surface but the braid foundation was not adequate and I was losing locs after a few days due to my braids unraveling in the back. But I know what I need to do next time around , add braiding hair because mine was short and a fine texture in the back. And I didn’t really plan out my pattern like I should have.

Flat twisting is easier you can learn quicker.

This video is everything!!! The braid pattern and way you added the hair in is perfect. Best part is that middle part!!! It looks so natural and that is the hardest step with crochet locs. People be looking like they got a highway lane through their middle part because they / the installer rushed and didn’t pay attention to that detail. Makes a world of difference. Bravo!! 🎉

Girl thank you so much for this tutorial! BTW your hair may be itchy when you do an install because the hair is coated with an alkaline spray when made, you can pre wash the hair in a vinegar and water bath then rinse and air dry before install to stop that. Thank you again.

Thank you for this! 🙏🏾 Make sure your itchy scalp when applying the hair isn’t an allergic reaction to the hair. Some synthetic hair has all kinds of chemicals that can make your scalp very reactive.
