Cruise news today: Disney Cruise Line opened Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas over the weekend for guests on Disney Magic. A cruise ship was rented out to host the G7 Summit this year in Italy. Holland America Line made prime time TV on Wednesday night for the finale series of Top Chef. Good morning, Doug! That was hysterical with your poke at the G7 Summit meeting hypocrisy staying on a cruise ship powered by dinosaur fuel while discussing the environment/Clean Energy! 😂 Brillant! I have sailed on all 3 Destiny class ships (Sunshine class now) in the Carnival fleet. They have such an easy layout that you can get around those ships without getting lost! Sunshine is still my favorite and wished both Sunrise and Radiance had gotten the same exact upgrade. Have a great week, Doug! 90 days till Carnival Glory for me!

Watched a couple of vlogs on the new Disney island. Looks really crappy compared to Castaway Cay. One vlogger even showed the buffet food covered in bugs!

I’ve seen a couple debates about it. In all fairness, everything Disney has done has flopped lately so at least they’re consistent. Movies bomb, park rides, Star Wars hotel, and now a destination in the Bahamas. At least they’re consistent.

Treasure Cay pier is so weird. You can tell the ship is docked out in a normal tender spot and there’s just this random long pier going way out in the middle of the ocean lol

Judging from last week's episode of Top Chef, I don't think any of the "cheftestants" have ever been on a cruise before. So it should be interesting to see how they adapt not only to being on a ship, but cooking on one as well.

That half-mile walk from ship to shore at Lookout Cay may seem like a lot, but if you've ever been to the parks you can handle this. From videos I've seen so far, it appears Disney has some "bugs" to work out at the food venues on the island.

From the video & photos of Disney’s new island and it looks like Disney is holding true to its current form, crappy island. I could get better plants at my Home Depot than what they planted on this island, the pier is ridiculously long without an ounce of shade, they should look at Coco Cay and get some coverings. That being said since it’s so ridiculously long theg probably will have trouble keeping them on the pier and not doing a Mary Poppins off into the air. That would at least be more interesting than the rest of this island. Several beaches look just blah not beautiful sand kinda rocky in places, buildings nothing special pretty cheap looking, the food omg! There were not only tons of live flies all over it I saw dead ones in the rice (I think it was rice), nothing like some bacteria with your cook out We will probably never cruise Disney, too expensive & too many kids plus I won’t give my money to a group that thinks what they have done to the parks & movies is good. The current group in charge of Disney needs to learn they are an entertainment company & family’s made them what they are and keep out of politics and trying to cram down peoples throats their woke agenda while charging ridiculous prices. Way to go once again Disney another few billions spent on a boring project that could have been fantastic.
