CRUISING THE BRISBANE RIVER 2010

We jump on a Ferry and go cruising up and down the Brisbane River. We take in South Bank and the Brisbane City Botanical Gardens. We also have a look at Yungaba.

Cool video Laurie one of your best. Triggered memories early on when you mentioned Kangaroo Point. None of those appartment blocks there back in the 70s. Did spend an eventful night in a big old house on a hill overlooking the river. Met up in town with some people and we ended up at KP. Full as a boot the night ended with some of us scrapping on the wooden steps tumbling down a load of flights. Over a girl of course. Managed to get off and found my way back over the river across the Storey Bridge. Think there was a Fosters Brewery underneath it. Seems like a city of bridges massive changes in the city scapes even here in 2010 than when i was working there. How fast time has gone by. Keep on rolling down those highways mate.

G'day Glen. We did the ferry run in 2010, and I don't think I ever watched the tape. Just found it recently and did something with it. About twelve months later, the 2011 flood disaster happened. We had toured the Lockyer Valley and stayed in Marburg. I remember looking at the levee banks around the place wondering how effective would they be if it ever did flood. Couldn't believe what I was watching when it was live on TV. Cheers, Laurie.

@@lauriekibblewhite I guess what is kind of ironic is all those riverscapes were changed forever just a few months after the film was taken in the huge 2011 floods.

@@Foul_Quince Yes, I watched in horror as the whole episode was played out on national TV. I have a record of filming places that met their demise either through fire or other means within months of my visits. Can I claim this one as well? ... I hasten to add that I am not proud of the fact, but one does wonder. Laurie
