I think we can all agree Ruka is the heroine Kazuya needs NOT the one he deserves. His next best bet is Sumi. Even though she's not really "into" him, but simply wants to break out of her shell.

@@dixon7488 she ghosted him cuz she didn't know why she kissed him in front of all his fam and friends Mami included when the truth finally came out about her job, but felt she needed to distance herself cuz she didn't know how to feel about doing that to ruka since she is the one who set him and her up or how she truly feels about kazuya since she impulsively kissed him knowing she had a way out of the lie for good by telling the truth but she didn't

@@zextruh9862 I understand it because in her eyes she just committed another lie/sin in front of everyone by not admitting the full truth of the situation, kissing ruka boyfriend in front of her face when she was the one to set them up together and lying to her own grandmother on her death bed all this inside her mind has caused her to think like yeah why am I doing this truly? So by doing that little 3-month ghosting thing I think that was her trying to take some time to herself to figure out what is it that she's really doing within this situation because she's not helping anymore she's really doing anything she wants to do and she's realized that now

Makes me just feel Kazuya is a nice guy, a hurt and vulnerable guy. The reason he loves holding hands is the reason any of do-it provides warmth and comfort. He felt great doing it with Mizuhara. When Mami does it here I smile. 01:17 She seems so caring and sweet. If she acted that way around Kazuya normally I bet he would be a great boyfriend. There are circumstances we don’t know about.

Mami is only sane person in this show... She is not the greatest in term of personality, but she has that little thing called common sense. Kazuya and Chizuru fall into ever deeper hole deceiving own families, all other troubles aside. Ruka just doesnt get a hint that Kazuya is not interested.

Mami secretly best girl? That's facts she spoke and I have a feeling she actually likes kazuya but she doesn't realize it herself. I think all the girls have affection for kazuya in their own ways but mizuhara the only gold digger while ruka is the clingy type. Sumi needs more screentime than she does,mami is the most interesting character imo

While she doesn’t know the whole story, protecting grandmothers’ feelings, everything Mami says in both this scene and the karaoke club/bridge is true. Not all of us can accept truth on paper as emotion is tough-but everything she says is true.

Unfortunately. If there's one Love Interest, there's 100% odds of the story GOING-SOMEWHERE.... eventually. If there's two, it's 50%. Three = 33.33...% 4 = 25.% The more waifus, the worse it gets.

True. I just don't get why people like and hype this anime. I had to stop after the beach episode in S1 because I couldn't bear the main protagonist anymore. He's the epitome of useless and spineless harem protagonist.

Whether or not Mami is messed up from first boyfriends she does, perhaps in a misguided way, care for Kazuya. Perhaps in an antihero way she doesn’t want him to waste his time and money. While it may not be her place to do this perhaps she feels she is part of the cause.
