Hey everyone and welcome back to the Citadel with me Grand Maester Stitch, where we return to Crusader Kings 3 to begin a series playing as the legendary Viking Sigurd Snake in the Eye!

The letter þ is called thorn in English I believe. Basically you pronounce it as a th 🙂. Loving the videos!

@17:48 you can't stop a raid in mid progress. You can click a destination to move to while you are raiding a barony, but the raiders won't actually move until the raid is done. This traps your raiders on an area making them vulnerable to attack from the defending army if they are big enough to challenge you, but it also allows you to que up the next destination for your raiders if you want to.

The character, in the younger daughter's name, which looks like a Letter "D" is known as a "Thorn" Rune, which is usually presented as "Th" in English, yet makes a "T" Sound. So, her name would be "Thora", which would have been pronounced as "Tora".

Almost. There are 2 different "TH" sounds, a soft one like in the word "the" and "there", and a hard "TH" like in "Thorn" and That" The character that lookd like a 'P' with a lengthened stem is the hard "TH" so it is indeed pronounced Thora, but the 'th' is pronounced like you would pronounce "Thor", not like "the" the soft TH character looks like a d but with a hash through the stem.

I had a fun play through with him, as the youngest Ragnarsson I felt I had the most leeway. Got the Blood Eagle using him, and ended up with Halfdan, Ivar, and Ubbe as my vassals. P.S. Also, obviously the best nickname of all the brothers :D

Sigurd Snake in The Eye is allegedly the ancestor of Legendary Gorm the Old and Knut The Great. Perhaps you can redo the North Sea Empire?

Conquer Rome and Italy. The Boot seems like the perfect Viking base to raid the Mediterranean from.

it would be awesome to raid all those rich provinces, maybe making the islands of the med as bases to raid from

@@GrandMaesterStitch Right? You could just start collecting the islands. Grab up Venice, Malta, Crete, Cyprus ect. If you could hold onto them that might actually work well. Build them up with anything that adds fort level and garrison.

I love all 3 of the yarl's the back story is dope about their father and going for revenge I just can't play as them because it ruins my RP to start off with anything significant so watching this is perfect 👌

If you are personally commanding a raiding army, there is a fair chance of getting the "Fire and Blood" event which gives you a bunch of gold and prestige, regardless of how small the loot in the holding is. Because of this, I almost always personally lead raids, and I hit everything in my path no matter how small. The plus side of the "Fire and Blood" cash is it goes straight to you, so evne if your raiders wind up getting hit, you don't lose that money.

oh that's awesome! I've not had much time to do many personal playthroughs 😔 all I've had chance to do are the series in the channel..

@@GrandMaesterStitch Well I'm enjoying them so far, so well done on that! A fun start if you haven't messed around with it yet is Dyre the Stranger. But that's the beauty of these games really... you can make your own fun story! My last playthrough I started in Ireland, formed my own religious offshoot of the Irish religion that was basically Wiccan/Druidism, made my entire dynasty a giant witch coven, and reclaimed Britannia for the Celts. Basically... I brought back the Old Brythonic way of life.

You swapped your Chancellor with your Spymaster, so your Chancellor got significantly worse while your Spymaster only got slightly better.
