I find it funny how in the thumbnail, moving the knight to b5 is a "blunder", while in reality, it's Stockfish's best move in that position 😂. Still, good video!

Interesting, I'll take a look at that. Does it run in to the same problem the traxler does where Bxf7 ruins the fun?

@@ChessBlueprints you prob checked already but yes, after bxf7 you are worse. but the good thing is it looks less "frightening" while still having similar tactics and even taking the knight runs into a fork, winning percentage is also slightly higher than the traxler on lichess

5.... Nd4 is a very fun variation against the Fried Liver, there are a few excellent traps in the variations that follow, one in which white loses a queen, another in which white is (somewhat humiliatingly) trapped in a smothered mate! There's a good video about it on KZfaq. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

That ending though... If 1... BxNc3 2. BxRf6 BxBf6 3. b5xc6 is one variation, doesn't seem entirely clear to me that black will win since the pieces are now very uneven, and I don't know what's going to happen to the passed pawn. Intuitively, the other variation 1... BxNc3 2. BxRf6 BxRe1 3. Rd1xBe1 seems better for black, he gets the rook back and is still a piece up. Fun game!

Good point, in those lines you're right that it's just a rook for two pieces, which shouldn't be the end of the world. I think because black is already up a piece, after all the trades go through that extra piece is felt more.
