It is because of you and Karl that I have entertained my more recent learning of sheet metal fab. I tubbed the front inner fenders on my Chevy squarebody crew cab dually, and now I am right in the middle of making my cowl hood actually function as a cowl hood. Tony, I am always amazed when you take a piece of scrap metal from an old fender or roof and work your magic on it. Your home made dies and dollies show us how to shape and work the metal to look like it was original. I bet you hear people ARGUING whether your cars ARE original, or if there is Bondo under "ALL THAT PAINT" ... Good Job, 'Old man' !

That was a true example of what is possible and can be accomplished with simple hand tools and a welder. I don’t think that I would ever attempt it but it was really interesting to see it done!! Thank you!!

Hi Tony. The tips are always good. That front valance had a lot going on. I really liked the way you formed that gradual bend with the 1/4" plate. I have to make a few small panels for my truck that aren't available aftermarket. That forming technique will come in handy. I also like how you analyze the bends and break them down into smaller chunks. That's another good tip! Thanks for the video!

Wow! What a job that you did, you made it look easy. Piece by piece, little by little. You did a great job of explaining about a little bit at a time, making a complicated piece look easy by stopping and explaining along the way. I think that this was actually one of the best videos of metal fabrication that you did with all the cutting and welding and grinding and bending and explaining of everything along the way. Very impressive indeed. Thanks for the education, you are the best indeed!

A story of perseverance, nicely done Tony 👏!

I was repairing some 69 VW Squareback fenders and between you and Karl Fisher I was able to figure out how to do it. Just below the headlight buckets the metal was like swiss cheese. The fenders had 6 different radiuses and then there was the style lines on the fender, and a spot-weld flange for re-attaching the headlight bucket. I had tried to make the part in one-go, but it never turned out right. Then I saw how Karl was going to make the style line on the Zephyr and then weld the rest of the panel to that piece. So, that got my brain turning. Then I saw your Cut-n-Butt repair video and that did it. I prepared the internal spot-weld flange by hammer forming, then cut it up into threes. Spot welded the pieces into place and then formed the radius it needed. I still need to practice more, but my fender dilemma is done thanks to you and Karl.

It always amazes me how you can take a recycle piece of metal and work a shape it into a part you need for your car. It looks exactly like the part. You encourage many people that they can do it to with any weldable metal they can find for free.

So, this little car with a turbo'd LS, is going to pull the front wheels high off the ground on your first launch and when it comes down, WHAM and all your work will need fixing yet again. WOW, what a beautiful video! I've probably watched every video that you've posted but this one is by far the most impressive. I am completely in awe.

Beauty work right there Tony. Even if you can't see all of it when put together, YOU know its done right, well, and us lol!!

Hi Tony when the experts say they bit off more than they can chew and were overwhelmed, you know the novice will probably sink. Glad to see you swam. You can do a lot with tools but having the Patience and Perseverance to keep moving forward by redoing work you just completed to make it fit well. Not everyone can do that. Piece looks phenomenal! Wow... Im getting to work, building a partial quarter panel section, some complex curves. Working on a modern 2005 unibody car, already did 2- 5ft rockers, inner structure & 1 dogleg. All thanks to your help! It all turned out amazingly well.

That was a fantastic bit of fabrication for such a small piece but if there's anyone who can do it I have no doubt it's you, I also don't believe that the grinding you do to clean things up wouldn't make it any thinner than the stretch of a 400 ton press when the original parts are stamped into shape, beautiful work as always Tony and thanks for all your tips, they've changed my whole approach to metal shaping,, till next time I'll stick around.

This Video Shows all your skills. Here in Germany you can make the Karosseriebaumeister . It is a pleasure to see how you formed all this out of a plate of Steel. It so satisfying when it is done and the result is fitting. I know it Well. All of this work for a 2 cm strip that is seen in reality. But i learned that what you not see must be absolute correct. Another great video Fitzee!! Keep them coming, I love them!!!! If you are worried about the cost of shipping because the part is so long then have the seller cut it in half or thirds then ship it to you. When you get it you could easily weld it back together in 15 or 20 minutes and no one would ever know. Beats fabricating it from scratch or paying outrageous shipping charges.

I laughed when I saw all of the waste on the floor. It's amazing how much dirt ends up on the floor after cutting, welding, cutting and welding more. After all of that work, the part looks as good as factory. You, as the builder, will know where it is "off" a thousandth or so. We're always our own toughest critics. Keep up the great work sir.
