Great to have you talking about your experience Michael and hopefully allowing people not to be too fearful.Ive had both valves replaced with mechanical and my aorta replaced with a synthetic one.All went well back cycling and enjoying life

Fyi- sadly, Michael Marranca passed away in 2021 from cancer, NOT heart failure. His obituary is on line. I found it when I was hoping to contact him and ask about my husband’s surgery. Sounds like he was a great man and that those valves helped him live his life fully to the end.

Thanks for sharing, I had my open heart surgery on 13 April 2021, I had my aortic bicuspid heart valve replaced with the On-X Aortic heart valve. They also repaired my damage aorta. God is good.

I'm 77 and had my aortic valve replaced with an On-X mechanical on Sept 27, 2022 by open heart surgery. I don't hear any noise. I had a 19mm valve and it should have been bigger all my life, so they fit in a 21mm. God is good.

Thanks for your story! It gives more confidence on who's suffered with valve problem issue. Just i want to know..what is the life time of mechanical valve life time? What type of medication you're following on daily routines? Thaks in advance!!

Exactly where i at. Bovine even in 15 years, not again, thought more freedom, then i hear guy has had mechanical 37 years. Take the warfarin

Nope, he had two valves replaced at the same time. The aortic and the mitral valve.

Im having my 2 valves mitral and aortic surgery in 10days im so scared xan you please tell mehow things goes after the surgery i have arthritis and im diabetic so can i move to recover i have been told just do chicken wings i dont get it and please how long it takes to recover thank you so much. God bless

This was in 2017. I wish he would come back and tell us how he is doing now that more months have passed by.

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago, I've got On-X mechanical valve and there is no sound at all, you can't hear anything. Maybe is a newer model?
