I own 200k in crypto. I bought a brand new unlocked Android phone and activated it without a SIM card (only my house Wifi) and downloaded Trust Wallet it in. I then moved all my crypto into the Trust Wallet in my phone. This phone will stay in airplane mode forever and will only be charged using a wall charger (ie., not connected to a computer.) I'll keep accumulating my crypto in this phone.

Anyone with a lot of money already has it literally tax free with an llc, crt and scorp protection. Only the little guy pays taxes. Everything has been fleecd and corrupted, and it changes with every administration. Better have a solid fi advisory team.

The only people who pay taxes on crypto are the same fools, foolish enough to actually report it. Since the fourth amendment to the constitution protects against warrantless searches, seizures, and protects the person, affects, and papers, no one can be forced to tell anyone, or give anyone anything, including the government, and especially the IRS.

I decided to transfer the crypto to my wallet. Uphold sent their automated emails and railroaded my account to closure. This prior to snapshot of Dec. 24th. They would not provide reasoning for closure. It’s all very fishy. They claimed refund to my bank. It should be a couple more business days before the funds hit the bank. Is this worth pursuing?

@Mattlaw If someone is crossing the border, can he carry the hardware wallet along with him, and does he need to declare that he owned cryptocurrency.

Carrying a wallet with only the information to access your money is not the same as carrying cash across a border. Your crypto wallet does not contain any crypto currency. It is like carrying your PIN number to your personal bank account. You can access your money with your PIN across a border, but you do not declare your bank account when you cross a border, just because you have your ATM card and PIN number. Keep your crypto safe.

@@MattlawAttorney Indeed - these people taking their crypto out completely - omg they are really just getting REKT on taxes - it's actually really sad - the IRS can send Feds to arrest them for just one mistake on their tax forms - these younger folks in crypto do not understand that every transaction is taxable - you miss one - the Fed can take it all which is BS - Am I seeing this correctly Matt? They wonder why there are so many people HODL and not taking their crypto out - but rather staking it and so on.

Your crypto will be fine and waiting for you when the power comes back on. If the power goes out world wide for an extended period of time, crypto will be the least of your worries. Let's hope we don't get hit by some giant meteor.
