Jenny explains the differences between classic frosted crystal singing bowls and Crystal Tones alchemy bowls which are fused with minerals, gemstones, and metals. They are made differently, play differently, and sound different.
Singing bowls have been used since at least 560 B.C. to help aid in meditation. When played these instruments produce a rich blend of harmonic overtones that are deeply compelling and help bring about deep relaxation. People often report having transformational realizations and feeling cleansed and renewed as a result of this type of meditation experience.
Jenny can help you find your singing bowl: www.therebelhuman.com/singing...
There are several elements to the sound of singing bowls that make them incredibly suited for meditation and sound healing purposes. Unique is the presence of what are called vocal formants. Understanding what formants are is as simple as singing vowels such as ‘ahh’ or ‘oooh.’ Formants are the elements of sound that makes vowels sound like they do. The bowl or bell shape gives the sound similar characteristics to the human voice. This quality is why they are known as singing bowls. The use of both bells and choirs is a well-known part of many religious and spiritual ceremonies. Studies have also shown that the human mind reacts positively to the sound of singing. One need only picture a mother calming a child with the sound of her voice, or a yogi chanting OM to understand how deeply we react to vowel sounds and singing.
Singing bowls are excellent tools for creating natural binaural beat tones. Scientific studies and a multitude of experiences by practitioners suggest that the use of binaural beats is an effective way to treat anxiety and similar disorders, and to achieve a meditative mental state singing bowls offer a unique advantage over beats created by synthesized tones because the sounds are created acoustically. The sound is natural, more complex, and more pleasant to listen to. Importantly: when two bowls are used, the process of entrainment occurs naturally between the two as they feed back between each other and cause each other to resonate towards a state of equilibrium.
The addition of metals or gemstones to the crystal singing bowls adds another dimension to the sound, by dampening or filtering the pure crystal sound.
Rebel Human is one of very few distributors in the world of Crystal Tones bowls. These singing bowls are made of the finest pure quartz (99.992%) and fused with rare minerals, gemstones, and metals using a patented technology.

I think this is the first time I can hear explanations about how singing bowls are made. I've been looking for videos, but didn't find anything and it's quite frustrating because I would love to discover how alchemy singing bowls are created. This must be fascinating. I am just mad about the way they sound, I've never heard anything like this before, and all I can say is they're like a drug for me, I need their soothing and healing vibrations.

If heating glass and crystal weakens it, why are bulletproof glass and other load bearing crystalline objects tempered? Heating glass and crystal allows the atoms to flow and self align in strong mechanical bond lattices, repeatedly heating it aligns these atoms into layers of said lattices... If the process of casting infused ceramic bowls with quartz of so expensive, why add the cost of shipping the quartz overseas twice, once as a raw material and back as finished product?

The heating of the quartz on the lathe does weaken the bond and these bowls are not annealed, that is why they break. Bowls made in China are not annealed. The cost of doing it would bring the price up. So they just don't do it. The alchemy bowls are molded and then annealed. The rough part on the classic frosted is quartz that did not fuse into the bowl and it is made in a centrifuge.

Hi. Thanks for the explanation. I am interested in buying a singing bowl to treat my very anxious solar plexus area that came up during the pandemic. I would like to have it release all the fear it's kept all these years. Sometimes meditation doesn't work and I can feel my solar plexus in flux. I'm willing to spend the money to buy the alchemy bowls but will regular Tibetan bowls work too? The alchemy bowls seem to be set to specific tones A - G, whereas the Tibetan bowl sounds are random. I currently have my eye on the Citrine Alchemy Bowl from Crystal Tones. Maybe the E tone for the Solar Plexus. But the Diamond version seem to hit all the chakras apparently? I would love your input on this. Thank you so much.

Hi Dennis! The bowls are a really effective way to calm our nervous system. Playing them can bring you into a meditative state when other meditation techniques aren't working. Sometimes we are too anxious to sit quietly and do a breath practice. If you're really anxious, I recommend a walk, a cardio exercise, or asana practice first, then sit down with the bowl. It is common to think we know what note bowl we should have, but until you hear them, it's difficult to know for sure. When your body hears the bowl it needs, you know. So the process I use with students is that I play all the bowls and you start to narrow them down. You listen with your eyes closed. I'm happy to set up a call with you to help you. You can email me at jenny@therebelhuman.com and we'll find a date!

Thanks for watching so closely! I play the bowls a several different ways depending on the bowls, how fine it is, what the exterior surface is like, and how it plays in general. The alchemy bowls take a little more finesse.

@RebelHuman
@RebelHuman 2 жыл бұрын
The bowl really chooses you. When I work with someone looking for a bowl, I let them pick the ones they are drawn to, then they close their eyes and I play them. The client always has a strong pull to one or two tones and we narrow down. Then the client plays the two or three they've isolated as favorites. I don't think it's a good idea to choose a certain note because you think you need to work on a particular chakra, for example. You intuition and your body are more intelligent than your thinking mind that is often driven by ego and fear. Listening to choose is the best way.

This is just marketing word salad BS. Most of what are saying is so far from the truth of how bowls are actually produced. The alchemy bowl just has a smoother finish than the frosted one, that’s why the wand feels smoother. 🤷🏻‍♂️
@jimmybunch9598
@jimmybunch9598 Жыл бұрын
That’s not true. They are made differently. Different types of quartz is used and what’s added to it. Look up the process online. Although crystal tones doesn’t not share their process because they have a patent on it, there is other processes that are similar.

@@daveandersen3227 I would say when it comes to bowls, it’s just like other crystals and you feel what you’re drawn to. See what you’re pulled to and trust yourself with it. I have had friends buy the topfund bowls off of Amazon and they seem to like them.

@@jimmybunch9598 can you give an example or a link to similar processes? a friend of mine is a chemist an he told me the fusing stuff is a big fraud and the colors are just sort of sprayed on a clear singing bowl.
@jimmybunch9598
@jimmybunch9598 Жыл бұрын
@@user-sr6wo9im9d there is not a link since they don’t share how it’s done. But I have done things with bowls myself and you cannot spray anything on them because it breaks up the resonance of the bowl. Whatever is added has to be fused or the bowl won’t play. I was experimenting with glazes and fluxes to add different minerals and it works but has to be the right ratio. I own crystal tones singing bows and I can tel you that some are very obvious that there is other crystals in them. Other bowls, not as much.

Total BS. A good worksperson never blames there tools. Frosted Quartz bowls are incredible tools, you can have transcendental experiences with them. Alchemy bowls are incredible too. But hella expensive. Definitely need to drop the snobby comparison between both and idiot/child proof references as that says more about you than the bowls.
@RebelHuman

Hi Tom! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I hear that you are frustrated by my delivery and I'm sorry you heard it in a disparaging way. I meant "idiot proof" lightheartedly and in light reference to the book series, "An Idiot's Guide to..." I hope you understand and upon rewatching, see that I do say BOTH kinds are healing. Regarding the quality of tools and/or instruments and their performance, it is true that you hear and feel a difference when you have high quality tools or instruments versus lower quality. This is true for a chain saw and a violin, for example. Regarding my comment on being good for kids and beginners, I still believe that is true considering the lower price point of the frosted bowls, their thicker, tougher walls, and the fact that they are not as finicky. I hope this clarification is helpful.

Thank you for this video but I'd like to see more of a real comparison. It looks to me like you are stroking / rubbing the bowls at very different speeds and when you strike the bowls (even if you struck them with the same power and follow through which doesn't appear to be the case from my viewpoint) you clearly stop the frosted bowl after 5-6 secs with your hand but leave the alchemy bowl sounding for at least 10 seconds. Both of course have much longer sustains than either of those times but doing it the way you did just isn't an even comparison in my eyes. I don't resonate with how you use "idiot" in this video either being full aware of books that use the term "idiot-proof" doesn't change that for me but you are entitled to use whatever (crystal) tone you like to narrate your videos of course. The intention feels commercial to me as well as to selling one type of bowl versus providing a fair comparison of features and issues in addition to the titled construction and components of the bowl. There are multiple methods of holding the mallets to angle of contact to how you "strike" a bowl so I don't feel like you covered much more than a surface comparison. Hopefully you or someone else will do a more complete fair comparison at some point so we can really learn the differences and the unique qualities of each type of bowl. Even having the bowls tuned at different notes changes the comparison. Apples and Oranges.
