CSA787 emergency landing at Budapest

On 2nd October 2013 Czech Airlines flight OK 787 from Budapest to Prague, aircraft type ATR 72-200, registration OK-YFT was climbing through about 3000 feet out of Budapest's runway 31R, when the crew declared emergency due to smoke in the aircraft and left engine fire.

Maybe in the future when there are better air traffic control systems the passenger and crew count can be automatically included in the flight plan and be accessible to the controller with out having to ask the pilot. I have always thought that to be one of the most annoying things to ask a pilot during an emergency.

Da`Man But if that is was he meant with that counting, the crew would be 31 and not 4.

ATO put mor stress to pilots repeatly askig them and talk to fast. Surely the pilots should be more calm. but still good work.

Scary how they struggled to understand each other with their accents. I would have thought that the ATC could have spoken slower and clearer to avoid misunderstandings, esp during an emergency situation.

And now imagine how cool it would be if ATC could count to three three zero. Not to be misunderstood, I know that 33 was what the pilot ment but he repeatedly said 3-3-0, and that is what I read and hear.

In some videos the ATC may ask for information to be repeated again and again, and this puts added stress on the already-stressed pilot. If I were the pilot I'd be tempted to say, "Dig out your ears, I'm only saying this once. I'm busy up here!"

The story would have been full with the recording with the Tower as well, but never mind. :) A történet a toronnyal folytatott kommunikációval még teljesebb lett volna, de sebaj, így is érdekes :)

You are right, but unfortunatelly, Tower recording was not available for public... :/
