If you think this man is abusing a puppy instead of saving an adult dog, a Rottweiler is absolutely not for you. You cannot allow an animal with the size and strength of a Rottweiler to maintain that level of food aggression into adulthood, or even adolescence. It's not an option, and it's not a joke. I bet that dog is well over 100 lbs today.....could you imagine if, say, that behavior was allowed to continue and a neighborhood kid walked by? That would be a very serious and dangerous situation for everyone. That man wasn't abusing his animal....he was saving its life, and maybe someone else's too.

@@misterrobins7231 You have to be the alpha in the relationship with your dog. My bigger dog has had resource protection issues around other dogs and humans in the past but typically because she sees me as dominant and alpha within the family she doesn’t dare get aggressive around me. My smaller dog is a different story I caught the bigger dog biting into the smaller dogs throat once but right when I came she instantly knew she messed up when I looked her in the eyes to establish control and dominance she looked away knowing I would punish her and that I was in full control. Gave her a light smack across the snout and threw her outside her aggression quickly turned into shame and regret. If no one in your family is willing to be the alpha your bigger dogs will run you over and will do harm to those around them physically. If I weren’t living at this house and never trained them. My family would be in trouble because my bigger dogs only see me as alpha, where as some of my other family members are viewed as below them unfortunately. My dogs resource guarding issue and aggression is gone now because I’ve put her in her place and corrected her behaviour numerous times to the point where she knows if she does anything that I see as disrespectful or aggressive shes in trouble. Not out of fear but out of respect for me being the leader. Imagine if I wasn’t, I have family with 6 year old cousins that come over to my house every year if I wasn’t the alpha and never corrected my dogs behaviour she may have seriously hurt one of my family members, so yes it saves lives to establish yourself as the alpha especially with bigger dogs. (My dogs are Chesapeake bae retrievers one of them is massive and over 100 pounds)

@@seablue6014 I own a very large male Rottweiler and have owned Rottweilers for decades. They are a beautiful breed if raised properly, failry and confidently. Like any dog they need to know who is boss but that is achieved through patience, tolerence and love, not heavy handed or aggressive. Of all the breeds I have owned I would say Rottweilers are top of the list for intelligence, loyalty and of course protection. If you do adopt or buy a Rottweiler buy him/her from a reputable breeder and when you get him/her home please don't ever put a collar and chain on him/her like the one in this video because it is cruel and that poor puppies neck must be so sore from the weight of it, also stay away from the disgusting "Pinch collars" they are cruel too.

If you have never owned a large breed dog, than a rotty is a bad choice. You need to be patient, persistent, and caring to earn that dog's trust and loyalty. Cause when that pooch grows to be over a 100 lbs of muscle, you are too late in your training and that rotty owns you now.
@KB3.0
@KB3.0 2 жыл бұрын
These people putting negative comments probably have no control over their children. Y’all probably the ones putting leashes on your children because you have not taught them self control or discipline 🙄. I know children and dogs are different but the concept is still the same. You discipline them so they can be safe for you and people in the community. If you don’t teach them discipline they’re going to run around and do whatever they want. The dog is still an animal. It makes way more sense to put a leash on an animal that’s being trained than a child 🙄. Y’all quick to put leashes on your children but let your animals run rampant. How backwards is that 🙄.

I have two Rottweiler’s at the moment both males. My older one died a few years back. He is absolutely doing the right thing. I trained mine at 8 weeks to go to their spots in the kitchen and do not eat from another dogs bowl unless I give it to them. Every once in awhile I had feed them or move their bowl or pick it up while they are eating. If there is any aggression, It’s a sit a stay till I release to eat. I’m lucky to have not had a pup with food aggression. If he doesn’t nip this now, the puppy will be put down later. Rescue Rottweiler’s who were never trained are hard to train. I adopted one at nine months and I always have to assert alpha. I love that he is so calm.

I don’t understand how people say “bothering him while he’s eating so he has the right to be annoyed”. This is not annoyance this is aggression. The object just barely gets close and he bites it, the man just walks by and he growls. That is extremely unacceptable behavior and left unchecked it is dangerous. There are dogs that you can literally reach into their bowl when they’ve eating, reach and take the food out of their mouth and they would never so much as growl. This is unsafe food aggression that seems justified to you now because he’s just a little tiny puppy and the big mean man has him chained up and is pestering him. This is the same dog that grows to 10 times what he is now and bites a child that walks too close and you’ll be screaming to have him put down. You can’t have it both ways. If these behaviors are not stopped quickly this dog will hurt someone because it doesn’t just stop at food aggression, it turns into everyday aggression and dominance and even death these are big dogs. I literally didn’t even see the chain until I saw the whining about it, I saw obedient but not submissive posterior on the small dog that could become a big problem.

@Juan Perez there is a difference between humans and dog. You dont own the person you plan to poke while eating. He owns the dog and is responsible for what the dog is capable of when it grows old. Food aggression in a natural instinct in rotties and must be trained very early and he is doing the right thing.
@thenepalidevils8906
@thenepalidevils8906 2 жыл бұрын
@Juan Perez that is exactly what he is doing he is explaining the dog that he is the boss. The food is not his it was given to him he should learn to be grateful towards his owner. That is what he is being taught. You still don't get the point. It's this behaviour that should be controlled. In few months of training his aggression towards food will lower. If you let it be when it grows old it may bite someone if it feels threshed. He has to be taught it's ok to let of of food.

The dog doesn't seemed injured, scared, or show signs of neglect. Regardless, there is nothing wrong with having your dog securely confined (not everyone has a luxurious oasis for their animals to run free, even though that is goals). I'm not going to jump to conclusions on why the puppy is aggressive like others in this chain of comments, because it can derive from a multiple of reasons and this video doesn't show enough to judge.

People are stupid this dog has food aggression. I do usually advice when puppies are small feed them by holding their back legs up. This man is training the dog that "food is a treat in which I give you." This puppy will grow up very quickly and could be very dangerous otherwise. All the racist comments are disturbing.

@@AlysonDLucca you don’t need a trainer. Just look up training videos on KZfaq, one of my personal favorite dog trainers is Victoria stillwell and she has a whole bunch of ways to train dogs on her show “it’s me or the dog”. Considering the overwhelming amount of fatal dog attacks America is currently experiencing, you would think they would appreciate seeing an owner taking proactive steps to raising a safe dog. Well, safe as a dog can be anyway. No-kill shelters, uninformed bleeding hearts, genetically bred ticking time bombs and a beyond reason justifications for not doing any specific breed legislations, is truly the beginning of the end of how Americans deal with their canines. Have to learn the hard way.

Everyone hating has an iq of 1. Let me explain slowly. The puppy doesn’t like when someone goes near the food, the puppy will bite. You need to correct the puppy, so when puppy all big he doesn’t rip someone’s arm off. Even a chihuahua will sometimes gets angry when you’re in his food space. It is not a learned behavior, hes clearly not starving and fighting other dogs to get food.

Amazes me how many people would rather their dogs walk all over them and dominate them. This is the issue with dog owners. They are pack animals they need to know who the boss is they are not your equal. They are amazing companions and need to know your their caring provider. This animal could kill wolves and it will kill kids or other animals if you let it.

Some "experts" put a shadow over th self training, saying things as 1 must have previos exper with rott. But if u dont get ur first, then how do u have prev exp!! They Talk like u have to be an out of this world human to train &deal with them. i am just worried i would Not be able 2come across 2 him & train him. I have no intent on having a military agressive killer rott. I like their calm, sweet, loving demeanor & med body, with people thy know. & i know by nature Will b protective of US even if i dont train him to seek, bite &kill. @Toki Warheart whatever they are they have to learn an order in the family. You can teach them until 7 month. If they learn the order they will be your best friends. You can take them with you everywhere they will be obbedients because they will respect you. If you are strict and consequent until they are small you can teach them. You can teach them this way without hitting them. (The man on the video is very calm. An expert! BUT if you are not able to clarify the order in the family until 7 month you will have very big problems. As a minimum they will bite you. Havent you heard about Rott that became furiously mad from one day to the other?? There are families where all members are afraid of their own dog. If you see an adult Rott with very good and close relation with his owner U can be sure that tha dog was educated well in his childhood. Rott is not a simple dog. Only for experts!!!! Imagine that small dog when it becomes 60 kg and behaves like this!!!! When you go close to him while he is eating he will do the same but wont stop!!! And the result: you will find yourself in the newspapers:"owner was seriously hurted by his dog. Dog is in cage owner is in intensive care unit". Everybody will say: again a mad Rott. No!!Again an owner who didnt educate a dog well. Who shouldnt have buy a Rott.

Dogs that are aggressive over their food will lead to a family member getting bit. This behaviour should be discouraged at a young age, a dog should never EVER growl at it's owner. No matter how cute you think the dog is. People tend to think that because they love their dogs they should be allowed to do anything. People need to educate themselves on dog behaviour and learn what messages their dogs are giving, I see dogs blatantly challenging their owners authority and people laugh it off like it's cute. failing to learn this will lead to someone getting hurt.
