oh, the orangutan laughing good at the glass trick is one of my favorites. This also shows how empathetic an animal is, how well-developed self-awareness and intelligence an animal is capable of having a good laugh at itself. Yes, I think great apes have a strong self-awareness, this can be a good proof of that.

Loved watching their disbelief, fascination and questioning eyes - and best of all the girl who obviously switched cups made the monkey laugh - a brief second of puzzlement followed by the monkey figuring out the switch and it causing he/she great amusement. We are still close relatives with shared wonder and understanding.

I dont know why anybody would think that only humans are self aware. Think about it though. Usually, when you think there is something only YOU know or do, it usually turns out other people/animals do it too. Animals can most likely communicate, and express emotions, so why wouldn't they be self aware

i always love watching this kind of content you can see the gears turning in their heads and it becomes more and more clear how we eventually evolved from them they really are intelligent creatures

thats kind of a logical fallacy. there isn't a lot of evidence we share a common ancestor with apes. It makes sense, yes, but it doesn't make it so. there's also a human bias in seeing animals that look like us. The 'gears turning' you notice is because of their human like face. For ex. you wouldn't see 'gears turning' for an octopus, even though it could display high intelligence. So the conclude we came from that because of this isn't totally logical. So if monkeys show intelligence and body type similar to us, it may not be because we share a family, but the other way around: that humanoid creatures tend to become intelligent and display similar behaviors. So humanoid creatures could come from totally different parts of the world and have no relation and yet display similarities. An animal with a human shape body won't be fast, or strong, so it inevitably would have to be smart and develop social connections

Anyone else is watching this and feeling sad and angry? Has anyone here watching this is thinking: "Why those animals have to be in those prisions?" If you haven´t please watch the video again but this time really looking to the background, those zoos or wherever they are, ther are kept in places made by humans, and they don´t belong there. The reactions are really amazing, and all animals are.

Yeah bro, at fist I was laughing with the tricks, but later I’d sad when I seen the monkeys closed there. Long time ago I made me the question of how it’s possible that are innocent people in prision, and not only people: there are monkeys and animals that them seem like a chriminals..

The fact that these animals actually understand (judging by their reactions) that a certain act is impossible and seemingly breaking the laws of physics is actually extremely interesting.

That's because they understand that things don't just disappear. Besides the magic trick, they would have never seen anything just go away without reason. So it would only make sense that they have understood that.

I’ve watched the clip of the Orangutan 🦧 a few times and I can’t get enough of it. The way he is using the stick to try to do the trick is amazing. These animals are so so smart, they know more and understand more than we give them credit for. I love these videos it always blows me away. ❤️
