In the fall of 2023 the new CSXT timetable finally went into effect for all of the former Pan Am Railways lines in the northeast.
This video features action on the Portland Subdivision west of Rigby Yard. The subdivision actually begins at Royal Junction in Cumberland, ME where the Waterville Subdivision ends so mileposts on the Portland Subdivision are the distance from Royal Jct. (the old CPF-185 on Pan Am).
Trains Seen:
- Rigby Yard from Amtrak 686 on 10/6/2023
- LW14 with MEC 510 - MEC 514 - MEC 5933 passes through Saco ME on 10/21/2023 with a train of cars from Portsmouth and the Lawrence area. This symbol is a crew symbol used under Springfield Terminal and was used to run this local that day as there was no road freight from CSX.
- Rigby Yard from Amtrak 686 on 11/10/2023
- L084 (usually the crew for the sand train from NHN but due to no train from them they grabbed a consist at Rigby instead) passes through Saco ME with MEC 506 - CSXT 6152 and a train for Dover and Portsmouth.
- Some photos and videos from Rigby yard on the morning on 11/17/2023, featuring CSXT 6229; a new (to the area) GP40-2 brought up the previous day on M426. Also some videos of Y100 using CFSXT 6004 - MEC 5963 to switch out the west end of the yard. They are passed by Amtrak 681 with AMTK 86 - AMTK 115.
- Later that afternoon on 11/17/2023; we see L064 (the now usual day crew from the Portsmouth branch since L063 was cut) arrive in Dover yard while taking the siding to meet Amtrak 686 in Rollinsford.
- Amtrak 686 passes through Rollinsford with AMTK 115 - AMTK 86 for power.
- L084 is seen once again at Salmon Falls entering Maine, then at Winnock's Neck and finally at Rigby Yard.
- L080 with MEC 7542 - MEC 7605 - MEC 505 and 42 cars passes eastbound through Old Orchard Beach.
- L080 heads back west three hours later with MEC 7605 - MEC 7542. This new local runs weekdays between Lawrence and Rigby and is a turn job based out of Lawrence to handle local traffic so that M426/M427 won't have to pick up and set out that traffic on their trip.
