Don't be so quick to blame judges. Juries decide cases unless they are settled before a trial. Also: judges have limited options in some cases as to how long they can sentence an offender.

This Sheriff has my vote for Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Not only does he protect the armed homeowner's actions, but he invites the armed homeowner to a Sheriff Department sponsored gun safety class, so the homeowner won't miss the criminal next time. Bravo Sir.

When can that come to Canada ? The way we have it now, if a thief breaks into your house and stubs his toe...the cops arrest you for not having the appropriate warnings posted in a place where he can see them...in Hindi, Mandarin, French and Cree.

@Mr Dice or in this case multiple places, chasing women with children, have felony warrants etc. Don't do any of that and being carried by 6 will be less likely.

I live in upstate New York at the moment but moving in 3 years as moving is not an easy thing. We are moving because of this exact problem, criminals are everywhere and frankly it's been like this my entire life. Not sure why my parents came here but I've had enough. Actually I've had enough 30 years ago. Wish I never lived here, ever. Thinking of going to Florida and this helps a lot.

This is fantastic! If only our politicians, the RCMP, the Toronto police, etc., etc., weren't making money off of crime. If that was the case we'd probably be hearing the same thing from them. Not being told to leave our car keys at the door to make it easier for the criminals.
