Worked out exactly as shown in the video. In my case (we bought our ZT1 50" last June) the hour meter connector was actually already separated from the front wiring loom and, for some reason, was plugged into the bottom of the blank that I removed. Thanks for the great video Kyle !!

had a 18 zt1. it had an hour meter. gave it to my son. bought a new one today. no meter. thats bull crap. thx for the video.

I am shocked! I purchased my ZT250 the end of January. It was a 2020 model. I would have never imagined the 21's not having the meter. I mean really a newer model with less standard features. None the less, great video.

The arm meter that I put on mine I took and cut an X above. The plastic part slid it up through unplugged. It cut off the little tabs, slid the other one right down in his place and it looks perfect.

Just bought my ZT1 Wednesday. I ordered mine off of Amazon for $61. Thanks for sharing the part number. Im gonna try to cut my sticker in an x pattern to see if i can fold it into the opening to help the finished look.

Just got one yesterday! I'll be adding one of these, thanks. I wish the block of the hour meter would overlap the trimmed black sticker.

I have the ultima 54” and it came without the hour meter. I called customer service. Spent about 30 minutes off and on the phone and was transferred a couple of times, but finally got a very nice lady that took my model#and serial # and after doing some checking she came back and told me my mower was supposed to to have the hour meter and is sending me one out for no charge. We’ll see how long this takes to get it here. But yeah it might be worth a shot to spend some time on the phone with them to see if they’ll be able to send you the HM for no charge.

Home Depot carries one that includes the hour meter, replacement panel label and instructions for $43.99 (at this time). With Store Pick-up, there is no shipping, although it takes about a week to get there.

Yep - the rub is they came standard on earlier model years, omitted on my '21. I just bought a $20 generic panel mount meter and wired it in using the existing harness.

I have a question about the hour meter. When you install the meter, does it start at zero or does it know how many hours are already on the machine? I wasn’t sure if the meter simply displays info from another source or if it is the “brains” of the operation.

Great video.., my daughter, purchased a cub Z1, 54” cut, 18 mths ago, hoping to entice her dad into giving up on his 30+ yr old garden tractor… well, she succeeded, I learned, and purchased a Z2 60” for myself… mine, with the meter…, ( I’m considering getting the meter for her). my meter tells me when an oil change is due, and, it tells me when my air filter is getting dirty…, could you tell me, if your meter gives that information…?

I have a question regarding this meter, besides recording runtime does it offer any other future or reminder? The reason I am asking is that amazon sells an aftermarket runtime hour clock for $16

It's interesting that the meter is not preinstalled on the 2021 models. I purchased a 2020 model of the ZT1 50 and it came with the hour meter already installed. Was this simply a cost-saving measure? The price of the mower is the same at Home Depot as it was last year, but plenty of comments online about it being a deal-breaker with no meter. BTW - Love my mower!

If i run it for example (10hrs) and then install this hour meter will it start from 10 or 0hrs?

I checked out the part number you provided on line, and they currently want $60.00 - $85.00 for it! Unfortunately I think that is a little costly.

My 2021 ZT2 came with a hour meter from the factory.

Will this work on the ZT1 42”. Unfortunately it’s not listed in my manual

The new hour meter for the ZT1 is part# 490-900-C075 Kit comes with the hour meter which does have service minder/volts etc and a new label. The mower is pre wired (green and white wire plug. Easy install, just make sure hour meter plug is at bottom so as not to install upside down. Be careful with label. Label goes over the meter so best to align it over meter display. Comes with instructions.

The "B" revision is the latest. However upon searching that part number it shows a different meter with a battery, brake and PTO light in the bezel too. The part you got even with the latest revision number on it is the old "A" part. Cub Cadet is shady as hell as a company. An hour meter should have been installed from factory, yet they're selling it as an option and still screwing the customer with an old part in a new bag.

$66 dollars later on a $3600-3700 mower, eye roll.. So how does cub know your at any specific maintenance when you take it in?
