Baby River is part of her own doggo pack with her huge German Shepherd friends. She has a different relationship with each of them. But when it comes to Roman, they have a bond like no other. When baby River was born, her parents prepared the dog pack for a meeting with her. The dogs were instantly interested in her smell and met her with a lot of kisses and tail wagging. River loves interacting with her furry friends, but her favorite one is Roman. She grew up with him since her first days and has a special bond with this giant, clumsy pup.

She's perfectly safe. German Shepherds are great with babies and kids. Mine always were. Seeing her drink that muddy water just cracked me up. She is truly one of the pack.

My niece used to grab food right out of one of my dog's mouth as he was chewing. Her best friend would've been mauled until it was over. She wasn't part of the pack. Get it now?

That part about them being ferocious to strangers definitely seems true. I take my dog to a dog park every day, and almost every time there is an aggressive dog, it’s a German Shepherd. I’ve actually never seen a pit bull be aggressive (although I can see how they could snap and become aggressive due to their energy level). I have to always be weary around German Shepherds and Belgian Malinous though

@@DatPuz I had a german shepherd and i have a pitbull now, i can confirm, my German Shpherd was always aggressive with strangers, but my pitbull is really friendly with everyone even dogs, i saw him angry just twice until now, and both times were justified once was toward a dog that tried to bite my father, he didn't fight he just step in between the dog and my father and acted aggressive, that was enough, and the second was when some guys tried to pick a fight with me, other than that, he is the most nice and relaxed dog that i ever knew.

@@dilophosaurusfan1739 They were know as babysitter dogs in the past, it's not in their genetic to be aggressive, is the opposite to that statement, is one of the most mentally stable breeds, so if they weren't trained to attack or something like that is unusual for them to act aggressive, and they know their own strength so is stupid to say that they will kill somebody trying to play, my own pitbull don't even close his mouth if you have even a finger inside his mouth not even while playing, he never attacked humans, dogs, cats or any type of animals, he's just nice to everyone and he don't even defend himself when other dogs try to attack him, the only way you can see him aggressive is if a dog attack me or my family, and he stop as soon as the aggressor stop, and that is not something we teach him, is something in his nature to protect his family (that is actually what is on his breed genetic and that's why they were amazing babysitter dogs), you should stfu if you don't know what you're talking about.

I was raised just like this. Big farm house surrounded by farm land and 2 german shepards. Amazing guard dogs, very protective of their family. This is the best way to grow up and live.

This is very true. I'm childless and my pets are family. Losing them is always painful, especially since do many lived long lives. But I learned part of the pain was having all this love with nowhere to go. I always give in and adopt again, and passing the love along heals me.

I have had five German Shepherds. The first one was wonderful around all children but especially my sons. The next three were wonderful with all children, especially my grandchildren and the one I have now is wonderful with all children, especially my two great granddaughters, ages 8 months and one that just turned two this month. He follows the two year old everywhere. You couldn't 't have a better dog! I am so happy that my sons and grandchildren all have German Shepherds.

When we first got our current GSD, Thor, and he got used to the river we lived next to, our grand daughter, who was 7 at the time, started walking across in a shallow area of the river when we were playing down at the river. Thor saw her when she was mid way and without being told ran to her, and turn back toward our side of the river, and waited for her to put her hand on is back, then escorted her back across. He watches over all 8 of our grandkids, and they can do know wrong as far as he is concerned. Unconditional love.

I grew up with a German Shepherd a long time ago. My parents told me as to how he saved me from running into a busy road when I was a toddler, by just standing across my path without any outside encouragement. He just naturally knew what to do.

I was raised with all my Grandma's cats (she bred Sianese). I had huge problems with my lungs due to city pollution and my kitty mum Topsy, would know days before I ended up in hospital and would indicate pneumonia again, Grandma. To this day, she is one that I hope is waiting for me in Rainbow Fields. Bringing your human kids up with your Fur Kids is a blessing.

Those pups met River when she was still in the womb. They could smell her the whole time. One of their pack for sure, what a lucky kid River is!

I'll bet the dogs knew about the pregnancy before River's Mother did. River is so protected that I ALMOST, kinda, nearly feel sorry for someone with ill intent towards her, even though they will ACTUALLY get what they really deserve. I love kids except for the ones that are not 'house trained' but that would be the fault of the parents.

This is sooo crazy. I also raised German shepherd's and all the Doctors said I couldn't have kids. After a few years and against all odds I got pregnant! I loved living on a very private peice of property and although we had a lot of family and friends visiting essentially he was being raised with my first babies " dogs ". They absolutely adored him and was a shadow everywhere he went. We attended a family reunion and got the shock if my life!!!! When a older family member approached to greet us I was holding my 18 month old son and without hesitation he pulled away from her and GROWLED AT HER!! Although we both laughed at it I realized it was time to move to a community with neighbors and more bring more people into his life. That was 32 years ago and I still have so many good memories of that time in our lives. And yes he turned out fantastic to spite being raised by dogs!!! 😁😊👍🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

I take it you are talking about the next generation of shepards. My guardian dog was a border collie/lab cross. My mother never worried about me being outside and we lived in rural bear country. Our next dog was a Shepard, I was safe and she was loved a great deal.

River has the best friends anyone will ever have loyal understanding , none judgemental, empathetic and above all their protection I’ve been fortunate to have German shepherds since I was little now 60 my last passed Arnie and I’m without a companion it warms my heart to watch beautiful children have imo the most loyal breed to be in their lives with parents who no there dogs God bless you all 🙏🏻👏👏

@@warondogs8199 I know GSD's. I can 100% guarantee that even if one of them suffered a mental break and tried to attack the child the others would protect the child and kill the aggressive dog. Once a GSD bonds with a child they protect the child over everything else. I promise one day there will be a video on here showing atleast one of the dogs growling and mumbling at the adults for chastising the child. Don't know what your issue is with dogs but they are not all the same.

@@proffessorX well, thats funny, because i have seen many attacks where just the opposite occurred: one dog starts attacking, and the others join in. I have never seen a single case where the others tried to stop the attackung dog. Please show me a case like that.

@@warondogs8199 Learn to read and then come back to me. How does "all dogs are not the same" contradict "I know GSD's" ? All dog breeds are not the same. All GSD's have certain behavioural markers which is why they are specifically chosen for certain police and military dogs. Go and learn about the breed before speaking stupidly on a subject you clearly have no idea about.

there is just something so funny and so cute about toddlers walking around..swinging their little milk bellies all about..these beautiful dogs had been smelling river since she was in the womb..I love that for hundreds of thousands of years us and our dogs have been side by side sitting near the fire as we raise families..the greatest gift to mankind after fire is the dog

Those dogs would never let any harm come to her. When my boys were growing up they had a dog. He stayed with them everywhere they went. Except school. But he always walked them to the bus. And met the bus when they returned. He always knew when they were coming...

This video shows exactly how properly trained and stable dogs will react to a baby, they adopt it as one of their own. Thank you for this, River will have an amazing childhood with her fur pack around her to guide and protect. I feel sorry for the person that might try to upset this balance,, the fur pack will not tolerate her being upset.

So sweet. I had a couple of German Shepherds in my life. Both of them was so gentle. The 1st was named Ed. The children were small. I did not worry when they were outside. Ed would make sure they stayed in the yard. ❤

Our first German Shepard, would stand guard over the children. She never left their side when they played in the garden. Because of the love and caring she showed them, We have always had German Shepard's since. Never once has any of them ever let us down, with all of them male and female. Showing such devotion to the children and now our grand children. Ella, our current Shepard, loves it when the grandchildren come round. She will play with them in the garden and our children know being brought up with Shepard's, she would never harm them.

My daughter when she was six decided she was a puppy and kept up barking, eating from the floor…for three days she was fluffy the puppy- so it really made me laugh when your daughter demonstrated her connection with her dogness- by drinking from a puddle! Hilarious!
