I use the Holey Hiker bidet the most. It has great water pressure. I keep the Culo Clean in my bag as a spare in case I lose the other one. They are both super light. Here's an important tip: Practice using it at home in your bathroom. First, spray it in the tub so you see how the spray comes out and the angle it comes out. After going, lift the seat up and then use it while squatting. Believe me, if you do, you will have better luck in the field because you will be used to how to use it. Also, you will get a good idea how much water you use with each use. It is around an inch or less of a Smart water bottle. I use the same Smart water bottle that I use for drinking. Once you have the hang of it, nothing gets on your bottle because you hold it away from any splash. BUT! After using, Wash / Sanitize your hands before you do anything else. John

Hmmm there's a solution. I have been practicing up for a hike I'm doing soon and here's the trick: BEFORE you go, use the Bidet to "wet" the area. This really helps to keep you clean. Now go and do your business and then use the bidet to power wash the area. LOL If you pre-wet, you don't have to do the check. The power wash does the trick. Just pat dry with a bandana. If for some reason, it is "dirty", power wash again and drip dry this time. Don't worry about it! On the trail, everyone smells like a$$ anyway. John

Lots of questions but between the Holy Hiker video and my answers, you should be good. 1) Pre-Wet the area with a little squirt. This helps "things" not to adhere to the area. You don't need to wipe. The best way to be sure you get it all is to use a finger to "clean" the area while spraying. I know. This sounds gross but all you do is have a little amount of Dr. Bronners soap and put a drop on your fingers. Wash and rinse. All clean! Watch the Holy Hiker video to hear the same thing from his demo. Here is a link to his video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7xdma2Tr9OceI0.html 2) Wiping after: You don't need to. After using, shake a bit to get most of the water off and then just pull up your underwear and hike on AFTER washing your hands with soap and water. The area will dry while hiking. Now you can carry wet wipes and do a sweep through the area. If you are prone to hiker's butt, I would recommend you do this. Another idea is to carry a bandana in your $hit kit. I put a drop of Dr. Bronners peppermint soap on it and it never smells. I keep all my bathroom stuff in a zip lock freezer bag. Wash the bandana when you get to a hostel or home. 3) No you can't see the area but this thing has a strong stream and will blast out the worst of it. Your finger will get the rest should you choose to use that method. The key is the pre-wet the area with a short blast. 4) I actually use my Smart Water Bottle with my drinking water to put the bidet in. I've never had a problem and use good hygiene practices after using it. The nozzle never gets anything on it because you squirt from the top down. You are above the crappy area so the water pushes it away from your bottle. 5) Practice in the tub a few times to get used to using it. 6) REI sells small Nalgene containers (think 1 oz). I put the Dr. Bronners soap in that. You can also buy very small containers that look like you would apply lip gloss with them. I made a video about them. You can put the soap in there to save weight. You don't need more than a DROP of soap. This stuff goes a long ways with a little water. 7) Leave no trace.

I somewhat agree but if you have no water pressure, something is wrong. I use a smart water bottle and pressure is great. And yes, the kind of poop does determine how good you get cleaned. I carry a few wet wipes and those will help on the bad stuff but they aren't needed most of the time. Oh yes, there is the "check" that you should do to confirm. You just need hand sanitizer afterwards but that is done anyway. Anyone who has changed a baby knows what it's like to get your hands dirty.

It does look like that carnival game. I've been using this at home for weeks now on the toilet and no issues. Yes. You can use your drinking water bottle. There is no feed back into the water. That being said, I’ll probably carry an empty smart water bottle and add a little water for use so family won’t worry.

Well you either use your bandanna in your shit kit or drip dry. It dries fast.

Think of it as free cooling. Butt sweat dries out just fine and plain water leaves even less residue/bacteria/salt.
