I feel like this song was being written and someone was like: “haha, this one is a murderer” and everyone else just rolled their eyes, but every time the joke got made they thought it was funnier until they actually changed the plot to make it real.

i THOROUGHLY enjoy the phrasing in this song. you can tell since this whole affair came from david being insecure about his counselor skills, he sings the line "i think i *might* be better than you! " while daniel sings "now i *know* i'm better than you!" which is so interesting to me tbh. we most never see the insecure-negative side of david, even if you see him kind of shutting down at things. interesting :)
