The elections have produced a hung parliament. The results do not favour any political party. The elections are too much stretched. Why does it take such a long time? The VVPATs should be fully counted to ensure the correctness of elections. The battle is not over. In order to restore democracy in the country, the fight must go on. The INDIA Alliance should work hard and take up different issues facing the nation. The bulwark against slipping the country to authoritarianism is to maintain greater vigil. People also should weigh the pros and cons of electing autocratic leaders. The formation of a government doesn't mean India's problems are solved. Democracy is an evolving process. I greatly appreciate that Kapil Subal Saheb is doing an excellent job in educating the people. That is indeed a great thing.

Coalition shouldn't be like - "Rajiv Gandhi overturning SC's judgement on Shah Bano" to appease Muslim Community and "Unlocking gates of Babri" to appease Hindu Community. But if you look at the UPA time, there was a big scam every year: 9 big scam in 9 years and countless small and medium scams. Congress could not prosecute the scammers because they belong to smaller parties and could bring down the govt. Those coalition govt compromised RAW and I&B agencies for their selfish desires, and Pakistan could do big terror attacks without any repercussion taking advantage of this infighting. Even Pakistanis reached our Parliament in 2001 and Indian govt could not fathom it because of lack of intelligence.

Actually evidence from around the world suggests that strongman leaders are actually less beneficial for a country. Countries which don’t have strong top-down leadership and instead rely on local officials to solve local problems raised by citizens do better. In a diverse country like India it is even more important to have local leaders who understand ground realities making decisions rather than a guy sitting in Delhi.

Look @jaatkthaat you need to address two main issues that India is facing. 1. Persistently low wages 2. unemployment. When you look at other nations like Mexico President elect Claudia Sheinbaum political party address these two issues. 1. Her party raise wages in Mexico by 30% 2. Her party then got investments (money) from the United States and even China to build factories inside of Mexico there by lowering unemployment.

No. Country needs an accountable government and a strong opposition as well. There is no data that indicates that there is no corruption now. Several scams like Adani Hindenburg scam needs to be investigated once the NDA is voted out. There is no security crisis in the country. We have not had a war since 1999. Freedoms cannot be traded for security.

Kapil Sibal makes a few laughable statements: 1. He believes the country being held hostage to the whims and fancies of a few politicians is better than having a government with a proper majority. 2. He forgets that India adopted EVM after long trials stretching over a decade. The EC repeatedly offered doubters to demonstrate hacking. All of Kapil’s alleged experts failed. 3. Historically, elections have been won by stuffed ballots and booth capturing. The EC introduced measures , including EVM, to capture the power of every vote. However, Lutyen’s Delhi hanger ons, like Sibal, want to have the opportunity to tamper the system. 4. His argument that Western countries do not have EVM reflects his slavish mentality. If India does something better than other countries, applaud those involved. By his logic, India should go back to being a British colony. A person who is a failed politician and whose only credential is that he was one of independent India’s most incompetent ministers. Why does Print give publicity to such persons?

Why are you crying for the MVM so much, he clearly made the point that all machines can be manipulated by the person who operates/programme it. Even a person with simple coding knowledge can program it to his advantage. If the EVMS were not tweaked the BJP would not have fallen below 100.

@@007tj5 All his arguments are laughable. Elections, before EVM, were often won by stuffed ballots. EVM eradicated many malpractices. Kapil Sibal makes no valid or intelligent point - just rants. The rants were patiently listened to by EC and judiciary but found to have no merit. In the past, EC had provided a challenge to all doubters to show their tampering skills. All of the experts - touted about by Sibal - either failed or were unwilling to take up the challenge. On the other hand, EVM in western nations, with different design, were found to be easy to tamper with. Sibal’s main grouse is that voters do not vote for him and he wants a system where he could manipulate the system and win elections. Please get your facts right before commenting.

Some interesting points made. Having said that, please understand that as a developing nation, we are in a position to cherry pick from more developed nations. If the German Supreme Court has disapproved the use of EVMs, then that judgement is worth reading, before forming or positing an opinion. Further, if we were to extrapolate your line of binary thought, we should insist that every male in this country should wear kurta pyjamas, or dhotis and not western clothes. It's not a binary world.

The Germans had different machines which could be tampered with. Sibal is simply a politician who succeeded in manipulating the system but failed to get voter support
