The reason you didn't find any brands is because you went to M&S, they only sell their own brand really so if you try other shops like Tesco, they are guaranteed to have some of the brands that you're looking for.

You should try going to a big tesco. I think it's a better shop with more brands, and it's a more normal shop that more people shop in. M&S is a pretty fancy shop (I don't know much about it tho tbh, I've only ever been to one like once before).

Pwar I’m an Aldi lass, but in town to get to this huge street we have to walk through M&S which is connected to the bus station. The prices when I went in to find a drink after walking round John Lewis and Fenwick for exam prep. Nah man Nah. It was so expensive.

Go to a different store. M&S is a super affluent brand that only really stock their own stuff. They are more expensive and sometimes better, but in my opinion, it's not worth it. Tesco, sainsburys or morisons will have more brands and will be a bit more affordable. Aldi and Lidl are very affordable but won't really stock many brands. Hope that helps!

Even in america, farm fresh eggs don't have to be refrigerated until you watch them. Once you wash them you tear the protective film, and they have to be refrigerated from then on. M&S and Waitrose are more ethical than some other shops in the UK, they don't always have as much variety though and can be harder to find. Their food is generally slightly better quality too.
@jenblack98
@jenblack98 2 жыл бұрын
Not true. I would say that the only chain that is significantly more "Ethical" is the Co-op (Most own brand is fair trade and they are a cooperative). M&S and Waitrose are just posh. Why would they sell other brands if their stuff is supposed to be considered high quality? It's a marketing strategy and you will find that Waitrose's main competitors are Lidl and Aldi because people realized that they can get the same quality for much cheaper.
@deathbydrano

This just isn’t true, generally they’re no more ethical than Lidl or Tesco, just more expensive. The meat produce is the only thing that I would agree that’s more ethical at M&S and Waitrose, but even then it’s often hard to tell. The co-op is really the most ethical in my opinion.

M&S is a great place go get really nice quality meat, fish, vegetables etc, cool flavours of things, fancy ready meals etc, but it's also expensive. Shops like Tesco Sainsburys Asda and Morrisons are more typical and have more brands, although those will still be very different. We don't refrigerate eggs because we don't pressure wash them like they do in America- we keep their outer shell (which naturally helps keep them fresh), and we've virtually eliminated salmonella anyway, so there's extremely low risks associated with not refrigerating them, whereas if we did refrigerate them thered be a higher risk of bacterial growth by moving between cold and less cold areas. Make sure you check out a couple restaurants in Bath! And take a trip down to Bristol if you have time. Amazing food there

M&S stands for Marc's and Spencer's, the last names of the founders and they are typically a clothing brand and franchise. That's their main focus. They don't usually have many selections in brands other than their own at the supermarket. At least not in my country. I am not from the UK but we have them in my country too. They are on the pricey side but focus in good quolity. And eggs are refrigerated in the states cause they are washed from what I'm told. We don't to that in most of Europe so they don't need refrigeration. And as someone who has left eggs outside, they were totally fine to eat just a bit runny. cook them well you'll be fine.
