I'm from Colombia and have many students from Germany, Switzerland and England since I'm a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language. I can truly say that I've seen how good relationships between Europeans and latinas work unbelievable well. All my students end up marrying women from here 😂

Which doesn't mean of course that there is going to happen something, it's just that the other person kind of "accepts" you, but not totally, just some acceptance. More acceptance will come if he/she likes you because you are attractive, smiley, respectful and pleasant.

What the Venezuelan woman said about the "bettering the race" thing is true. Not saying everyone in Latin America is like that, but you find a lot of people with that "Casta system" racist mindset. Some examples right off the top of my head are some Boricuas, Dominicans, and Cubans not willing to admit that they are black or come from African ancestry. Another example is Mexican Telenovelas mostly casting white/lighter colored Mexicans instead of "Indio" looking Mexicans for their shows.

While I will say the average Latino will end up marrying someone of whatever color or background as long as they like them (or else, I wouldn't constantly see Latino couples of such different looks)...you are right. The mentality still lingers in the back of people's minds. It makes no sense to be racist against anyone for us, since we almost all have some level of Indigenous or African ancestry, or both. I'd also say that hating the Spanish makes no sense either since that is also a part of us. Our grandparents for sure still hold those beliefs, today's generation thankfully less.

Koreans, like all East Asians, are mostly very conservative when it comes to interacting with the opposite gender. It's the Confucian influence. They will often show the opposite of what they feel. If they're interested, they feign disinterest. Was he into her? His body language says he's completely intimidated by her forwardness, but he may also be somewhat fascinated. I thought she was pretty. I've seen her in other videos and her mind is as intriguing as her appearance.

@@9y2bgy I guess he is just a plain, respectful, educated Korean gentleman .... and probably has hardly had social relationships with Latin Americans, that's why he seemed so puzzled and intimidated by the CHilean lady attitude. For instance, I think the Venezuelan lady attitude was warmer and more forward in what SHE SAID, not the WAY she EXPRESSED it, according to her body language (her clothes to start). I think the Chilean lady is very outgoing, playful and a joker, that's why it seems she gave a lot of signals.

My father is a good looking half german man, but I was born looking more like my mom: dark hair, dark eyes and I’m petite like her. I feel beautiful no matter how I look. I'm Latin (mexican) I have two left feet, I'm pretty dry, I'm reserved, I don't actually enjoy drinking going out dancing, I hate reggaeton music and salsa music, everytime I hear that stuff from anyone after they say they like latin things like those i just lose interest or get angry at them. I just pretend I do like these things sometimes.. Talking with people makes me feel uncomfortable and takes an extraordinary effort. I'm introverted, awkward, shy etc, I hate it. I dont say any of those words like my sweety, honey, my love..etc... (cariño, mi amor, mi alma, etc.) I've been told I'm cold and distant (by Latin people) and I am. My face and my physical appearance looks like the average everyday mestizo Latin American but as far as personality goes I'm NOT like that. I guess still you could say I'm warm compared to Northern Europeans and East Asians since even then they told me I'm friendly.

Im an introverted Venezuelan, and well aside from the crisis. The culture was one of the reasons I left, Im also very introverted and I do not fit in that society. If Venezuela got fixed all the sudden, I will still not go back. I cant stand the culture

As far as who pays on the first date, as a default I'd pay - especially if I asked a woman out on a first date - but it would be more courteous (in the more liberated times of 2022) for the subsequent dinner tabs to be shared.

The Venezuelan woman's statement on "bettering the race" is common throughout South America. To my knowledge only Brazil had an overt national policy called "Blanqueamiento" ie "whitening the race".

I lived in China which has a similar culture and in a city with many korean expats. Korean men want sex on the first date as any other men because all men want sex but in Korea they have to prove themselves. The thing is that korean men see foreign women as free prostitutes because of many being open minded about casual but not all foreigners have the same culture and even if they come from a country where casual dating is normal and accepted it doesn't mean that women don't have conservative and moral values. I've been treated very poorly by chinese and korean men simply because I am foreigner, i have a white face. They don't care about my country, my culture, my religion, my values, nothing. They just feel entitled to be sexually aggressive and demanding because they watched sex&city and that's their reference for all Caucasian looking women.

I’m married to a German and Ive dated many Germans and Scandinavians before. If i wasnt so into blonde hair, I would date a Latino for sure. I think i should get that obsession of mine checked… Anyway, the culture difference is unbearable sometimes, and after the initial conquer phase, the romance is dead with most Germans ive met (and I havent met a few). That desire to make us pay for everything 50/50 as if we had the same salaries is nonsense. Im divorcing my German soon, and after him I dont think i’ll date another. I heard Poles are old time gentlemen, I’ll see if I can find a nice one to have a relationship with where Im not just a flatmate😸

It's concerning how the woman from Venezuela speaks. "Improving the race" by referring to date someone who is white and/or has blue eyes? Honestly wtf. There are not such things as races and sorry but looking like a white person it's not an improvement. Latinos are gorgeous people, just like everyone else. At least she admits she is toxic.

Maybe that’s just a tip for her putting an hour effort to look good for the man. We all know women dont just shower and are ready. At least a courtesy to invite her. I’m a woman and I’ge invited friends with high paying jobs. Why wouldnt a man invite his date?

Latin American nations are more traditional than Germany. Countries that have more traditional gender roles tend to have the expectation that the men should pay for dates. Think if Eastern Europe for example. Germany doesn’t have strong gender roles and has frequently had female leaders in both business and government. So they’re not going to expect the men to pay. Most countries, like the US, are somewhere in the middle.

I cannot help but remember Anna Sorokin's claim that "Germany is worse than prison". I think she meant it in this way ( social scene, discrimination against foreigners (Eastern)). I do not exactly concur that it is worse than prison, but dating in Germany is likely a very dry experience. And we all know about discrimination of "Auslaender."..

It's actually a matter of safety. Latin countries are sometimes too dangerous for women and the fact that the guy drives them home shows they care and that they are making sure his date gets home safe
