Back in October, we took a very early morning drive down to Chama, NM to soak in the sights and sounds of the C&TS "Toltec Rattler"-A recreation of the railroad's first ever photo freight which traversed the railroad for railfan photographers back in 1972. After making a sizeable donation to the railroad, we stepped behind the photographers to just simply stand and enjoy the majesty of a hard working narrow gauge locomotive doing what it does best. But no matter how many times we set out to do that, I can't help but either pull out a cell phone or camcorder to capture the moment.
Please explore this small series of cell phone clips as C&TS #484 drags a freight train to the summit of Cumbres Pass in the cool fall weather. the San Juan extension will always remain as a paradise for all things railroading.
