Carby and delicious, Taiwanese breakfast is not to be missed! These are the breakfast shops we ate ate in Taipei:
1. Ruian Soy Milk 瑞安豆漿大王
Opens 24 hours baby!
This 24 hour open restaurant offers a wild variety of yummy breakfast foods. And it's CHEAP. Lots of food are already made and ready to eat. It's like breakfast fast food!
2. Jiang yellow beef noodle shop 江家黃牛肉麵永和豆漿店
Opens 5:30AM-3AM
You can get TAIWANESE BEEF NOODLES AND BREAKFAST? Sign me up hunni~ Much pricier than the other two shops but cleaner and catered to foreigners with that English menu!

Opens 8PM-10:30AM

I'm really impressed with how comfortable you are filming not just in public but in a restaurant. I'm a solo traveler, too and I get so shy when people start staring at me taking pictures and videos of myself. I know I shouldn't care but I feel weird every time I set up my tripod and camera equipment and people slooooow down to watch what I'm doing.

Just wanted to say Thanks TJ I went to eat breakfast this morning at Ruian Soy Milk and everything was good especially the peanut soymilk and congee. I did have a fun time trying to order in english but a lot of pointing and pictures on the wall helped out. THanks again

this is my virgin taipei trip with my mum and im so clueless about where to eat, i didn't want to follow a tour group basically because i wanted more freedom in roaming around, my mum even reprimanded for being stupid not to follow a tour group and she guaranteed that we will get lost or we will starve to death. i came across your food videos here and im gonna prove it to my mom that she's so wrong and allowing her to have a little more faith in me! thankyou TJ for recommending so many food places, it's so helpful, love you

Most of the calories are actually from all of the oil in the dough to make crispy bread, all of the oil in the deep fried dough and all of oil for frying pretty much everything. It is sort of like drinking oil soaked up in a little bit of refined carb. 1 tablespoon of oil is about 120 calories. To avoid oil, have to cook all of your own food.
