On this edition of Curator's Corner, Jim Supica and Phil Schreier of the NRA National Firearms Museum join Cam Edwards in studio to discuss the latest addition to the museum's 'Hollywood Guns' exhibit. Supica and Schreier present a classic Colt Single-Action Army pistol that was used by John Wayne in his film Rio Bravo. Wayne also personally rented the pistol to use during his interviews and promotional appearances for his final film The Shootist in 1976.
To find more than 10,000 zoomable images of the 3,000 firearms at the museum at the NFM's website, www.NRAmuseum.com. www.NRAnews.com. (Originally aired on Sportsman Channel Cam & Co. 2/25/13).

even if you dont aprove of firearms, i highly advise visiting the museum. the history, the artistry and the serious amount of craftsmenship is very well worth it. they even have a movie section. 2 firearms there, they had engraving so well done, they set up magnifying glass' so you could see the amount of care and detail that was involved.

My understanding is that the last SAA revolver that John Wayne used in The Shootist was a Hawes Sauer Western Marshall gun? Can you please confirm that?

Hey guys, great gun as always. I wonder why Wayne carried his gun so far back and kind of sloppy? He had a particular style of carry that he used in most of his cowboy movies but I'm not sure if he did it for the look or the function. Also,I was reading an old American Rifleman fom the 60s and it had a list of gun museums and it said that Disneyland had a gun museum in Frontierland? If so,whatever happened to it?
